Return to the Real World

The family party we had yesterday was a nearly perfect day.  Everything and everybody cooperated.  Perfect weather, guests in a very receptive mood for the socializing, good food.  In short, other than eating a little too much it was one of those faultless occasions we rarely experience.  But, back to the real world.

After experiencing the horror of the Uvalde mass murder, we then find out that the Uvalde police are responsible for failing to save most of the victims.  To find out that they refused to storm the classroom for something like forty minutes while a classroom of little children was systematically murdered is maddening.  It’s as if we now live in a completely dysfunctional world.  Murderers stalk the streets but the police refuse to rescue even the most helpless and innocent victims, little children.  I don’t know how the officer in charge will live with himself.  I assume he’ll have to flee Uvalde.  To live in a town where everyone knows how much blood is on your hands would be intolerable for any normal man.

As far as the Left’s present attempt to bang away at the gun control thread, it seems like background noise that does little to distract Americans from the disintegration of the economy and normal life.  There’s a palpable sense that we’re living in the after times.  The real world where the politicians tried to protect their jobs by only slightly mismanaging the country is a thing of the past.  Biden & Co. have gone all in on the Green Economy and have thereby smashed the country on the rocks of energy reality.  You can’t run an electric grid on solar panels and windmills.  And you can’t run a transportation system on batteries especially if the electric grid isn’t built to handle the recharge load.

So, we’re all watching a gallon of gas head up toward double digit prices.  It’s interesting that Biden’s election may be a case of fake economics being given enough rope to hang itself.  Three and a half years of Biden-omics probably will be more than enough to convince even strident Democrat voters to push the voting booth lever for Donald Trump.  What’s not clear to me is if Dopey Joe might decide to change course after the mid-terms and swim like crazy back to the shore of sanity.  Joe has thrown in with the Obama progressives but Joe is a coward and if his polls slip anymore, he might be frightened into abandoning the green crusade.

With the advent of real summer (supposed to get up to 85 degrees today) I find myself distracted by the fun things that we can do at this time of year.  But I promise not to abandon my gloom and doom output.  I was reading today that Liz Cheney’s primary opponent has her beat by thirty points.  But I also saw that the primary isn’t until August.  That’s too long to keep my attention.  So, we need something that happens soon to keep us interested.  If I were to guess, the next big thing will be Ukraine’s collapse.  The Biden Administration is already starting to backpedal on the outcome.  The collapse of the Ukrainian resistance in the Donbas provinces is an ominous sign for the hopes Ukrainian victory.  The only question in my mind is whether Odessa will be the end of the 2022 military campaign or whether Putin has much larger designs.  Either way, it’s one more glorious failure for Dear Leader Biden.  Jen Psaki’s hasty retreat has me wondering how soon the rush to the exits will begin for the rest of the Biden Administration.  My pick for next to bail is Pete Buttigieg.  Getting left holding the bag on the transportation problems in this country is probably getting to our LGBTQ+ friend.  I expect he’ll announce he’s retiring to be a full-time stay at home mom for his young brood of rent-a-children.  And after Mayor Pete maybe General Milli Vanilli will follow him out the door.  Losing wars to the Russians is no fun either.

So, stay tuned.  The Silly Season is just getting started and fun and games are sure to continue for the foreseeable future.

And Just In Case the Red Wave Was Still in Doubt

CNN has jumped on the bandwagon and has sighted the Red Wave headed for the beach.

My favorite quote, “The reality of this current political moment is that things appear to be getting worse for Democrats the closer we get to the election. Fears of a wave washing away even incumbents previously considered safe now seem entirely justified.”

I like to think that after all the insanity and misery that the Dems have caused in the last three years that the American voters will be willing to punish them in 2022 and 2024.  And I cling to the hope that the Stupid Party will stumble onto leaders who are a little less stupid and corrupt.  Here’s hoping.

Mummy Envy

I found this tweet about a mummy in South America on my feed. But what made me laugh was a reply. Some guy said “Annoying that a 7000 year old corpse has more hair than me.”

This’N’That on Thursday

Sunday is the family jollification (or shindig) so I have once again been a virtual serf to Camera Girl.  She had me getting the pool and the pool accoutrements brought up to her standards.  This involved extraordinary amounts of cleaning, water chemical treatment and just plain stoop labor.  Then I had to sweep and clean the deck and first floor and organize all the “stuff” that would be in the way.  In many ways she is reminiscent of Ivan the Terrible with her fondness for the cat-o-nine-tails and branding iron.  But somehow I have performed the herculean tasks she set me and I now can look around at the happenings of the day and see if I have anything salient to opine.

With respect to the school shootings in Uvalde the Left, as expected, has lived down to expectations and beat the gun control drum endlessly.  Beto O’Rourke has demonstrated his vile self-serving callousness by crashing a meeting for the grieving town of Uvalde to grandstand his stupid gun control act.

An interesting phenomenon seems to be occurring.  It looks like the usual leftist press outrage over mass shootings or abortion don’t seem to have the usual Republicans panicking as they typically do.  I think the public is outraged out and even the spineless GOP cowards are figuring it out.  When you have inflation emptying your bank account and crime running rampant in the streets it’s hard to come up with additional outrage to care about the New York Times’ talking points on some tragedy.  So even though the Left is trying to talk themselves into some kind of narrative where Roe v. Wade plus school shootings equals salvation for the Dems in the mid-terms I don’t think the polls are even budging.  Good.

I noticed that Dementia Joe’s Approval Rating has taken another hit.  On Tuesday Reuters had him at 36% Approve / 59% Disapprove.  The Real Clear Politics average (below) has him at  40.5% Approve / 55.2% Disapprove.  And that’s because even NPR has him 40% / 56% and Politico has him 42% / 56%.  These are in the tank fellow mouthpieces for Biden and even they have to admit he’s despised by the country.

My theory is that when his approval rating stays below 35% for a month there will begin to be a move by the Dems to find his replacement.  But to be fair I’m sure they’ll wait till after the mid-terms before they start baying for his blood.

I’m curious to see how Juneteenth goes this year.  I’m guessing it won’t get as much play as last year.  It doesn’t feel like a winner to me and right now the Dems are looking for some wins.  Maybe they’ll rediscover the Fourth of July for some reason and start waving the racist Stars and Stripes.  Should be interesting.

Well, we’ll see what new horrors await us tomorrow.  But I’ve got some fun ahead of me this weekend so I’m sort of content.  See you tomorrow.

Who Murders a Classroom of Second Graders?

Who destroys innocent human life just to get attention?  A madman.  Whether he uses a gun or an automobile or poison this is a creature devoid of human feeling.  And imagine targeting specifically young children.  Now we have a human monster.  Someone who is intent on horrifying his audience to the greatest degree.

What does it say about our society that we have platoons of these maniacs?  One time it’s a heartless creep who mows down a crowd of children and their families at a Christmas parade.  Then it’s a racist opening up on a train full of commuters.  Last week it’s another racist shooting up a store.  And yesterday an eighteen-year-old psychopath shoots his grandmother and goes on to a grade school and kills everyone in sight.

The fact that one of them was white, two black and one Latino is only important in the case of the white man because that allows him to be guilty of the additional crime of white supremacy.  And the black man in the car must be completely ignored because he didn’t use a gun and is black.  But the three gun-wielders all can be used as fodder for the gun control lobby that relishes these stories like nothing else.  And that is why the man who mowed down a crowd with his car must be ignored.

Because if we think about other weapons like a car or a kitchen knife or a couple of grams of fentanyl, we realize that mass murder is within the reach of any maniac who decides he wants to get famous by murdering innocent people.  After all a nurse has the opportunity to kill thousands of people if she is careful to avoid an obvious pattern to her work.  A worker at a food or pharmaceutical plant can easily adulterate products that people will ingest.

It’s simply that guns are a political target that the Left seeks to take away from free people to render them subject to their supposed public servants.  I’ve seen how this story works with the weak minded.  They immediately cave to the appeal to their soft nature, “Think of the children.”  Well, what about the maniac at the wheel of a car?  Shouldn’t we by the same logic eliminate the automobile?  And how about chain saws?  I’m sure someone has killed his neighbor with one of those.

But it’s the same old argument.  We’ll hear this ad infinitum for the next few weeks.  Hopefully the Supreme Court won’t be swayed when they make their decision on New York City’s restrictive gun law that’s on the docket.

But for me the real question is a different one.  It’s not about the weapon.  My question is about the killers.  Are they getting worse?  And are they getting more common?   Fifty years ago, more or less, an insane man took a rifle into a tower on a college campus and started shooting people at random until he was stopped by a policeman’s bullet.

That killing spree horrified the nation.  But it wasn’t followed by another one a week later and then another one a week after that.  I could be wrong about this but it seems like the mental health of this country is sliding.  The people who commit these mass murders are the worst cases.  They must be the people who have the lowest reserves of sanity to draw on.  But for every one of these there must be a million cases of road rage or some other antisocial outburst.

This is the result of living in the pressure cooker that the Left has ushered in with their George Floyd color revolution.  Deteriorating financial conditions, lawlessness on the streets, alienation by the people in charge; it’s a perfect storm of mental stress that is cracking more and more of the weakest minds.  But think of how disconnected from his human feelings an eighteen-year-old must be to go into a classroom of second graders or fourth graders and start shooting them point blank.  I can’t do it.  I can’t imagine that anyone with a shred of humanity could do such a thing.

So, the world is dehumanizing the weakest people among us.  That is a warning signal.  We’ve gotten rid of God.  We’ve abandoned reality.  We no longer protect our children from harmful people and their warped ideas.  Life in Joe Biden’s America is becoming something like living in an insane asylum.  Maybe people will vote to change that.

Race Realism Means Finding a Way for the Races to Talk Honestly

I was reading the Z Man’s Monday morning posts and it was about how conservatism went wrong.  And as usual it was very informative and thought provoking.  One of the points had to do with Harry Jaffa and that ended up with a discussion of Jaffa’s current descendants at the Claremont Institute.  Z Man pointed to two posts on Claremont’s American Mind website (1, 2).

In the first post called “No New Normal” Z Man is satisfied with the argument until it involves race.

“Here is a post on the same site as the Gottfried post, in which the editors reject the new normal of American politics. Everything is good until this. “In reality, race is not the ultimate fact of human identity or the central problem of American life. Different ethnic populations have different general tendencies, but not different natural rights. Everyone is capable of learning to live well in this country, but only if we confidently endorse both our geographical and cultural boundaries.””

Z Man continues on about the second post, “Demographics are Not Destiny”

“The linked post in that quote is worth reading, as it rips the mask from the “new conservatism” and exposes it as the old conservatism. The great fork in the road, the shadow that hangs over human history, is biology. The story of man is not one tale with many chapters, but many stories of many people, all of whom have their own unique understanding of themselves and how they should live. The genuine man of the Right understands this and accepts it. Equality, in short, is inhuman.”

These thoughts encapsulate the difference between the Dissident Right and the Civic Nationalists.  The dissidents dogmatically stress that the differences between people, make living together under the American Constitution impossible.  This seems to me to be a horribly pessimistic assertion.  And since the Z Man states often that he doesn’t believe that there will be any partition of the United States along racial lines this pessimism about the various human races and ethnicities living together seems like a hopeless situation for his side.

By the way I am aware of why it would seem that race relations in the United States are so abysmal.  The Democrats have spent the last sixty years, more or less, weaponizing the African American population as a club to defeat their political opponents and almost as much time doing the same thing with Hispanics and Asians.  It really is no wonder that all of American society seems poised to melt down into a cauldron of race hatred at any time.

But I think there is a path out of this rat trap.  The Democrats were never satisfied with dividing the country into white and non-white.  They exploited male versus female antagonism and then they really went crazy with all of the various sexual deviancy populations.  The LGBT thing was their greatest extravaganza.

But all of this follow-on intersectional advocacy doesn’t sit very well with the people that they think they’ve captured during their race dividing stage.  Most Hispanics don’t want to be called Latinx.  And most of them don’t much want their kids groomed for inclusion in the trans-gender club at school.  Likewise, Asian parents don’t want their kids denied academic advancement because they don’t rank high enough in the intersectional bingo game.

And these ethnic groups are starting to realize that giving their votes to the Democrats doesn’t create a better country for their kids to live in.  Recent polls show that this is already happening.  Less than 30% of Hispanics think Biden is doing a good job.  That is lower than his number among white voters.  So, it shows that forming a coalition on the Right with non-white Americans is possible.  What seems to be the stumbling block to accomplishing this is the abysmal ineptitude of the Republican Party.

Think about it.  Donald Trump was branded as a racist in 2016 when he was running for president on the platform of building a wall on the Mexican border.  And yet he had a higher percentage of Hispanic voters in 2020.  That seems to tell me that it’s more the messenger than the message.  Trump spoke crudely but honestly about what he believed and people respected him for it.  All of this leads me to believe that leaders who aren’t afraid to speak to people of different races and who can convince them that their lives would be better under “equality” rather than under “equity” could forge a coalition based on mutual benefit.

Someone like Ron DeSantis is doing that in Florida which has a huge Hispanic population.  Trump could do it again if he can just get an unrigged election in 2024.  So, I throw my hat in with the civic nationalists.  But I think the dissidents should be willing to talk with us.  They have lots of important insights into the failures that the Republicans have been guilty of over the years.  They could point out the mistakes we must not make again.  And they represent a sizable chunk of the population.  They need to be part of the dialog.

As I’ve said before, the Right needs to expand the conversation.  When the neocons were the gate keepers, they got to dictate what was the window of acceptable opinion and that got us to the point where objecting to illegal immigration was an unacceptable position.  It’s important that a robust debate goes on and some of the people on the outskirts of the party are right about things that the establishment has been dead wrong about.  The people on the fringes aren’t right about everything but a dialog with them would be good for both sides.

UPDATE 24MAY2022

A commenter named Tucker had this to say:

“I would strongly recommend that the author of this article visit this link and absorb the rock solid analysis that “Civic Nationalism” is a gigantic fraud.

https://www.eurocanadians.ca/2020/08/civic-nationalism-is-fraud.html

I also encourage any readers of this author’s article to read the analysis cited above.”

So I went to the link and read the 5,500 word post that listed five reasons why civic nationalism is a fraud:

I. This brings us to the first and most obvious fraud of civic nationalism. Being that, by its very definition, civic nationalism isn’t even nationalism.

II. The second fraud of civic nationalism is that it’s just globalism by another name.

III. The third fraud of civic nationalism is that it’s extremely vague and practically impossible to enforce.

IV. The fourth fraud of civic nationalism is that it’s born from cowardice and cannot save whites from replacement and extinction.

V. The final fraud of civic nationalism is that it’s never worked and it never will work.

Looking through these various charges of fraud I see a list of the grievances of white citizens of the Anglosphere against their governments for allowing large scale immigration from the third world.  And I am fully sympathetic with these issues.  I am also aware of the reverse discrimination that these governments have been guilty of over the last decades in a wrong headed attempt to undermine the dominant culture in these places.  But in my mind none of those problems are tied to civic nationalism.  They are tied to some sort of white guilt that the elite class feels.  Donald Trump had no problem pointing to illegal immigration as a danger to our country.  And he was clear that reverse discrimination was going on in our government.  It seems to me that what is needed to eliminate these problems are leaders who are not ashamed of the history of the people who built the country.

As far as the demographic situation, stopping uncontrolled immigration will lessen the impact of demographic change but even if every “illegal immigrant” was sent home the non-white component of the population would still be a very significant part of the United States.  But I am more interested in making sure that the country maintains the culture that made America a special place.

The European heritage that the English and the other European settlers brought has a distinctive style.  It fostered thrift, hard work and family life.  That is what needs to be maintained.  Celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas and the Fourth of July are an important part of the civic life of our country.  The Christian heritage is an important part.  These things have resonance with many of the immigrants who came here in the last fifty years.  Latin Americans are Catholics.  They enjoy Christmas the same as Europeans.  Many of the Asians who live here are Christians too.  Certainly there are differences in these peoples’ lives but they can be good Americans.

I think the more important problem is finding leaders who aren’t afraid to call out anti-white discrimination.  We need politicians and judges who will strike down things like affirmative action and restore our rights to freedom of free association.  The endless attempts to enforce equality of outcome in the face of the reality of human differences must end.  Seeing racism in every disparate outcome is nonsense.  Some people are smarter.  Some people are harder working.  Punishing those people to make less intelligent or lazier people feel good is unjust.  What must be maintained is equality under the law.  Equal opportunity is sufficient to allow just outcomes.

And private association also needs to be unrestrained by government oversight.  People need free association to flourish culturally.  Men’s clubs have the right to exist.  So do ethnic societies.  So do people who like baseball.  You wouldn’t force a baseball club to give equal time to a member who wanted the yearly outing to be basketball game.  If the Daughters of the American Revolution are forced to accept members from Papua-New Guinea because otherwise feeling might be hurt that negates the very meaning of the organization.

I don’t see a civic nationalist point of view preventing anyone from eliminating a lot of the problems that have made life in the United States unfair to white people.  What it takes is being unafraid to call out unconstitutional laws and also putting a brake on immigration to prevent destroying the original culture and way of life.

23MAY2022 – OCF Update

Memorial Day Weekend will be a big family party at “The Compound.”  Yours truly is busy sprucing up the grounds and fighting the forces of entropy that are always at work undermining my efforts.  I’m impatiently awaiting the yearly attack of the deer on my patch of day lilies and irises.  Like clockwork, just as the day lilies bud some moocher with a white tail and hooves swoops down and chews them down to the ground.  Every year I say I will buy some netting and build a fence around them but sloth and an innate sense of the wrongness of deer forcing me to waste my time with such precautions stops me.  So here I am dreading but fascinated by the knowledge that the catastrophe awaits.  The only hope I have is that this particular deer met his fate during the hunting season and is now an antlered bit of taxidermy on the wall of some hunting enthusiast in Dunwich.

I checked the headlines this morning but it was the same old, same old.  You know; pestilence, war, famine, Kardashians.  So, nothing new to write about.  Biden is still in East Asia which effectively raises the average IQ of North America a few points.

I have started to figure out Twitter a little bit.  I finally got some traffic back to OCF from my twitter feed.  The trick is to use some of the better lines from an article as a teaser to pique their interest.  Of course, this isn’t stunning insight but for a social media Neanderthal such as myself it’s tantamount to the invention of the wheel.  I’m actually kind of enjoying it.  I got 300 impressions, 3 likes, 3 comments and 10 clicks on my web site for one of my car show pictures which was a new best personal best.  I haven’t gotten flamed by any progs yet which makes me a little sad.  I assume you aren’t someone until you’ve been attacked on Twitter.

We had two ninety-degree days on Saturday and Sunday.  But now the temperature is back in the sixties and is supposed to stay in the seventies all week.  For the shindig on Sunday that would be optimal.  That way no air conditioning will be needed and people will be more likely to stay outdoors.  It would be a little cool for swimming in the pool.  But with the water only 55 degrees right now most people aren’t hardy enough to stay in that temperature water for long anyway.

The fact that the winner hasn’t been declared in the Pennsylvania Senate primary for the GOP seems to me to mean that voter fraud activities are still in full force in Philadelphia.  I assume the November results in that state will take a month to be reported and will be completely fraudulent.  It should be interesting to see how many states will crack down on the mail voting scam.  That will be a good indicator of whether the Democrats will pull out all the stops and try to steal the mid-terms.

So, the work week begins.  I’ll check in later for anything worthy of comment.

What Will Collapse Next?

Dementia Joe has shown himself to be the master of disaster.  I think we should give credit where credit is due.  So, let’s review Joe’s list of accomplishments.  Get comfortable.  It’s a long list.

I guess we could start with his campaign.  He ran it from his basement.  Huddled in the dark to avoid dying of COVID he made pronouncements blaming COVID on Donald Trump and kowtowing to the BLM rioters in statements littered with mumbled failures at meaningful English.  The list of his verbal gaffes is too long and all-encompassing to review.  Let’s just say broadly that at times he misstated who, what, where, when and how things were and had no clue as to why.

Then there was his choice of Vice President.  Kamala Harris is breathtakingly stupid.  Add to that, she has created a method of talking in circles to allow her to spout four hundred words by repeating four words over and over again.  Someone must have told her she has to fill up a certain amount of time.  Maybe she was on a debating team or something.  But it’s maddening to listen to.  You want to whack her with a yardstick to make her stop talking.  I guess besides her identity politics credentials she has the added advantage that she’s one of the few people Biden could pick that doesn’t make him look stupider by comparison.

Then there is the election.  Now, to be fair, this wasn’t within Joe’s purview.  His handlers rigged the election and he was just the blank card they drew to cheat a whole country out of its choice for President.  But let’s attach this one to him because at the least he was in on the deal.

Next, I’ll lump all the COVID mismanagement into one big pile of awful.  The lockdowns.  The school closings.  The mask mandates.  The vaccine mandates.  The boosters.  The executive orders forcing companies to fire employees for not getting shots they didn’t want.  The military vaccine mandate forcing soldiers out.  And the endless lies about the effectiveness and safety of the vaccines.  And then when he had lost the trust of most of the country his famous “long winter of illness and death for the unvaccinated” speech.  COVID is probably the biggest nail in the Biden coffin.

I shouldn’t forget the Afghanistan debacle.  That was the one that cracked his presidency.  The military drew down their boots on the ground before evacuating the tens of thousands of civilians that were still in Kabul.  Also, they handed over the highly defensible air base and were forced to use the vulnerable Kabul airport for evacuation.  The spectacle of Afghanis falling to their deaths from the landing gear of US military planes fleeing Kabul during the rout that was supposed to be an orderly retreat from Afghanistan was what first sank Biden’s approval rating.

A number of servicemen were killed by a suicide bomber during the panicked retreat and just to underscore the incompetency of the military leadership a retaliatory missile strike at the attackers instead blew up a family with a bunch of kids.  Biden’s henchman took their cue from spokes-liar Jen Psaki and claimed that, all things considered, the debacle was a well-ordered operation.  From that point on bald faced lying then became the go-to for the Biden administration’s response to self-inflicted disasters.  Of course, this eventually wore Jen Psaki out.  Poor thing.

After that we had inflation.  The first hints were noticed in mid-2021.  But true to form they were denied in-toto by Psaki and the President.  Prices weren’t increasing they were just decreasing slightly here and there.  We shouldn’t be worried about inflation.  We should be afraid of deflation.  That’s why the President wanted to spend five or six trillion more.  Have to pump up that economy you know!  But pretty soon food and gas were becoming very expensive and anyone who wasn’t truly wealthy began to notice the grocery totals and the gas pump bill were skyrocketing.  And when it became impossible to deny, Psaki told us it was temporary.  “Just the end of the COVID bubble.  Nothing to fret about.  Ninety nine out of a hundred Nobel Prize Economists concur that we’ll be right back on track in a few more months.”  Well, now those same economists say it will be years before inflation subsides.  In the meantime, it has eaten away at the wages everyone makes and robbed a generation of young people of prosperity.

Then the famous supply chain disruptions.  During the COVID lockdowns toilet paper became hard to find on the shelves.  But we all smiled and shrugged our shoulders and joked about preppers.  But in 2021 and into this year we all started noticing empty shelves at the grocery store and Walmart.  All sorts of things and foods came up missing or began becoming ridiculously expensive.  I remember Camera Girl telling me that at one point oat meal disappeared off the shelves and when it returned it was twice as expensive for a while.  When this became an undeniable problem Jen Psaki explained it all to us.  It was the corrupt dock workers in Los Angeles who refused to off-load all those Chinese freighters backed up in the harbor.  Luckily Mayor Pete Buttigieg in his new capacity as Transportation Secretary was on it.  He gave a speech that was very reminiscent of some of Kamala Harris’s best efforts.  There were circular word patterns, hints about white privilege, talk about working round the clock and plenty of gay mansplaining.  But here we are almost a year into his laying down the law and somehow the shelves are emptier than ever.  Now we’re left with the impression that shutting down the economy for a year and depending on China to produce and transport everything we need may not be the brilliant idea our ruling elites took it for.  But don’t worry.  Mumbles Biden gave a speech and told us he’s building a ginormous Intel chip factory in Ohio that will replace all the infrastructure in Taiwan and China.  Boy I feel better.  I wonder if they can make some toilet paper there too maybe.

And then Dopey Joe and his military Dream Team decided to pick a fight with Putin over the Ukraine.  The blinding stupidity of this decision is depressing.  Russia controls enormous reserves of oil, gas and critical minerals.  In addition, Russia and Ukraine are major producers of wheat and fertilizer.  The impact of the war and the subsequent sanctions on Russia have spiked the prices of oil and gas above and beyond their already inflated prices.  And scarcity of wheat and the increase in food prices caused by fertilizer price jumps will bring starvation to the third world and actual hunger to the poor in the United States for the first time in decades.  And Biden’s sanctions have pushed Russia into the arms of China.  And between the two of them they are decoupling the dollar from the price of petroleum which is one component of what makes the dollar the default currency for the world.  So effectively, by attacking Russia, Biden has weakened the US currency just when it was in a very precarious position from the inflationary policies that he has been pursuing during COVID.  Even for Dementia Joe this was a disaster home run.

So, what’s left?  Well, infants can’t get baby formula.  The FDA has shut down 40% of the national supply of formula and had no plan for making up the difference.  Well, the progressives don’t like breeders anyway.  Do parents vote?  Well don’t worry Joe was able to get enough formula to the illegal alien mothers at the border so the important people were okay.

I won’t add on the rolling crime waves in the cities.  Sure, that’s the responsibility of Joe’s puppet master.  But let’s face it.  That’s above Joe’s pay grade.  So, I’ll give him a pass.

And that brings us up to date.  So, the question at the beginning of this diatribe is, “What will collapse next?”

Here I’ll have to put on my magic hat and gaze into the crystal ball.  Well, if I cheat a bit, I guess I’ll extrapolate from the drops in the stock market to predict a market crash.  Of course, I’ve been away from the market for decades.  Back in the 1980s seven hundred points was a crash.  Now a thousand-point loss is a bad day sell off.  But based on all the problems afflicting the world economy I assume that a bear market is inevitable.  And I’m guessing this will usher in a recession.  What comes after that is anyone’s guess.

So, Joe has easily unseated Jimmy Carter as the worst modern-day president.  The way he’s going Herbert Hoover and Andrew Johnson must be starting to feel the heat.  I will show a little caution here.  I still think we’re a long way from cannibalism.  But what Joe has proven is that he’s not just unlucky.  Everything he touches self-destructs.  We will all suffer but what he has ensured is that when the mid-terms come and again in 2024 voters will reject Joe and his party with visceral hatred at all the misery and outrage, he has put them through.  Well done, Joe, well done.

Friday Happenings and a Hint from the Z Man

A marvelous morning.  After a lot of rain and cool weather over the last two day the sun has broken through and the temperature is supposed to be skirting with eighty.  The pool guys are here today and will open it up and treat it.  Right now, it’s a rich color that I’m told is green and I’m guessing those guys will have an awful lot of vacuuming to do.

Camera Girl has finally found some butternut squash seedling for her garden and I’m continuing with my program of chopping down and uprooting invasive trees like Russian Olive and Ailanthus that spring up everywhere.  Now that my great experiment with the fence support has panned out, I’ll buy a few more supports and strengthen the posts.  That will give me the chance to decide on the “final solution.”  I’ve been thinking about metal posts but that’s a big effort and as usual my laziness weighs in against it.

As is my routine on Friday mornings I listened to the Z Man’s podcast.  I heard a sort of throwaway line that he is having a essay of his posted at American Greatness.  That I think is a significant moment.  I’ve been wondering how much farther the coalescence would move between the Dissident Right and the MAGA Right.  Previously I observed paleoconservative Paul Gottfried as a link between the two sides.  Gottfried writes on American Greatness and the American Mind and has had the Z Man appear on his podcasts.  With the Z Man writing at American Greatness, I think we see the next step in the mainstreaming of dissident ideas and thinkers.  And that’s all to the good.

The opposite reaction to this rapprochement is comments that Z Man says he’s been getting from some of his more strident readers claiming he has been toning down his rhetoric on hot-button topics like immigration and race realism.  My guess is that with his growing reach into more moderate audiences he’s recognized the desirability of softening his language to avoid scaring off the squeamish.  And once again, that’s all to the good.  Truly hateful rhetoric just for the sake of hatefulness doesn’t help anyone, especially those on the Right attempting to build coalitions.

I look forward to the day when Nick Fuentes, the Z Man and other dissidents can show up on Tucker Carlson’s show and sit down with more moderate types like Michael Anton and the people over at Claremont.  Both sides would benefit enormously by the chance to speak openly and honestly with each other.  At some point it might be possible for the agenda of an energized MAGA coalition to even get the dissidents to climb down off the ledge and rejoin the rest of the Right.

Look, I know that last statement sounds like happy-happy talk but I think there’s more than just unbridled enthusiasm at work here.  The overreach of the Left has done them serious damage.  Damage on a scale we haven’t seen since the American electorate booted Jimmy Carter out of the White House and spawned the Reagan ‘80s.  I think it would be extremely valuable to have some voices from the Dissident Right in the mix when we start talking about agendas.  Obviously not everybody on the fringe is safe to have mixing with us normies.  But the more sober-minded and thoughtful individuals like Z Man have a lot to say about where the Right has gone wrong so many times before.  I welcome the idea that he is making the effort to talk to the moderates.

So, this is an interesting morning.  Summer returns to the Compound and interesting happenings are afoot on the Right.  All to the Good.

Bezos and Doocy Agree, Biden’s a Dishonest Half-Wit

I’ve got to hand it to Biden.  Who else could force both Jeff Bezos and Peter Doocy to call you a lying moron.  Biden and his new spokes-liar, henchwoman Kareem Jean-Claude Van Dumb were trying to convince the country that runaway inflation was the result of corporations and billionaires not being charged more income tax.

“The inability of the Biden administration to both create a constructive environment for producers and a dependable, efficient supply chain to get goods to market has produced the worst inflation in 40 years…….

Biden tweeted Friday, “You want to bring down inflation? Let’s make sure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share.”……..

Biden’s head-scratching tweet sparked a bigger reaction than the White House probably expected when one of the Democratic Party’s biggest boosters, billionaire Jeff Bezos, owner of The Washington Post, tweeted back, “The newly created Disinformation Board should review this tweet, or maybe they need to form a new Non Sequitur Board instead.”…….

Two days later, Bezos took to Twitter again: “The administration tried hard to inject even more stimulus into an already over-heated, inflationary economy and only Manchin saved them from themselves. Inflation is a regressive tax that most hurts the least affluent. Misdirection doesn’t help the country.”

By Monday, it was the new presidential press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, in the hot seat over Biden’s tweet when Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked her how taxing corporations translates into lower inflation.

Jean-Pierre served up a classic word salad that ignored the president’s focus on taxing corporations and instead leveled her sights on the rich: “Look, we have talked about … this past year, about making sure that the wealthiest among us are paying their fair share, and that is important to do.” ………….

She went on, “So I think we encourage those who have done very well, especially those who care about climate change, to support a fairer tax code that doesn’t charge manufacturers, workers, cops, builders a higher percentage of their earnings than the most fortunate people in our nation, and not let that stand in the way of reducing energy costs and fighting an existential problem, if you think about it, that is an example. To support basic collective bargaining rights as well.”……………….

Note that she avoided Doocy’s question, and for good reason — increasing taxes on business will increase the prices they charge, not lower them.”

When Jeff Bezos, the owner of the Washington Post, a Democrat rag, calls you a lying moron, well, I don’t suppose you’re gonna get much sympathy from Fox News.  Worse for the Democrats, the voters aren’t buying it this time.  A lot of Americans are sort of lazy and uninformed but not being able to buy food or even find formula for a new-born has a way of focusing the mind on who’s responsible for your misery.  I’m guessing they’ll be needing a new press secretary in a few weeks.  This one will be used up soon.  Maybe the next one should be a deaf mute or maybe an exotic dancer.  Either way it will de-emphasize the importance of the questions and answers.
