Bathtub Nitroglycerine and Perpetual Motion Machines

Families are a great invention.  They allow us to remember stuff from long ago and be young again.  Case in point, I have a descendant who is in middle school.  He is forever describing to me machines he has invented that turn kinetic energy and wind and sunlight into potential energy stored in batteries and flywheels and allowing him to perpetually power the imaginary kingdom he rules with an iron hand.  On a fairly frequent interval I remind him of the three laws of thermodynamics and the scourge of entropy.  He laughs it off as fake news.  Apparently, his generation has formulated the fourth law, magic.

All of these flights of fancy reminded me of my own early technological history.  As a youngster, I had a fascination with chemistry.  I quickly graduated from the hobbyist set up with a few bottles of sodium bisulfate, test tubes and an alcohol lamp to a professional ground glass distillation set up, temperature controlled electric heating, reagent bottles full of mineral acids and even some formidable organic solvents.  I searched in arcane book stores for the organic chemistry recipes and set-ups that allowed for practical synthesis of various compounds that in my young mind were interesting.  At one point, I obtained an old organic chemistry text that was part of a medical school curriculum from the 1920s.  It included a number of compounds that interested me including nitroglycerine and trinitrotoluene.  I went as far as obtaining all the reagents, equipment and vessels I would need to perform the reaction.  On the day I had set for producing the first batch I was walking down to the supermarket to buy the fifty pounds of ice I needed to cool the reaction when it occurred to me that this might just possibly be a “bad idea.”  You see I remembered that nitroglycerine was a material that wasn’t just dangerous during production but remained sensitive to heat and vibration at all times.  Not owning a reinforced concrete bunker, I realized that after I manufactured the “soup” I had no place to keep it.  Well, no place that would survive a detonation.  Now you might think that this kind of rational evaluation would have steered me clear of all pyrotechnic and explosive materials.  You would be wrong.  The extent of my caution was to shift over to something less unstable but equally exothermic.  I started working with thermite.  In these post 9-11 days I imagine my experiments would probably fall under the heading of possible terror activity.  Back then they were the stuff of Fourth of July celebratory hijinks.  But even these relatively tame and successful forays into amateur pyrotechnics now give me pause.  Just precisely how stupid is a teenage boy when it comes to unsafe activities.  The answer comes back loud and clear.  Infinitely stupid.  I can remember what back then seemed to me to be failsafe precautions.  In hindsight what I see was ignorance and just plain dumb luck.  And that really frightens me.

Needless to say, these memories inform my present situation.  It occurs to me that the adults around when I was hatching my munitions program thought that my forays into chemistry were altogether benign and to be encouraged.  Hmmm.  Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?  Not just the Shadow.  Any man who was ever a fourteen year-old boy knows too.

I intend to monitor my young Archimedes’ progress with an eye for safety.  I have gotten him some books on electricity and machines that stress safety and standard components.  I know he has an interest in robotics.  And I know he enjoys BattleBots so I will keep an eye out for any indication that his creations will include cutting surfaces or kinetic devices such as circular saw blades or pneumatic hammers.  If my cautionary tale rings any bells in your own case, remember, the apple does not fall far from the tree.

Morning Shmoe 2 – Trump Hates Bannon!!!  Just Saying.

Chris Buskirk over at American Greatness is fast becoming one of my favorite reads.  He had a great article ( https://amgreatness.com/2017/04/15/foolish-choose-morning-joe-crowd-bannon-voters/ ) that has once again inspired me to revisit our friends at Morning Shmoe.

Scene: Studio Set at Morning Shmoe

Shmoe Browfurrowed (AKA Morning Shmoe) (MS) – It’s three and a half minutes before the quarter hour and we’re back.  Lycra have you heard the latest evidence about how Trump has already eliminated Steve Bannon and is about to replace him with Barney Frank.

Lycra Spandexy (LS) – No Shmoe, tell me all about it.

MS – Well it’s obvious to anyone paying attention.  Trump is wearing ties.  And as you all know Bannon doesn’t wear a tie.  You do the math!

LS – That’s so true!  Well now that Barney Frank is the virtual president what wonderful changes do you forsee?

MS – As first order of business, Melania will be eliminated as First Lady, either by divorce or deportation and Caitlyn Jenner installed in that position.  Next Ivanka will begin the slow, deliberate process of becoming Ivanko.  After that Trump will begin his transition which will culminate in him grabbing herself.

LS – It just writes itself, doesn’t it Shmoe?

MS – Yeah, sort of.

LS – Shmoe, what do you think caused the original loss of trust between Trump and Bannon.

MS – Well Lycra, we may never truly know but we can speculate.

LS – Can we?

MS – Oh, not only can we but we will.  We’ve still got several hundred words to add before this post is full.

LS – Post?

MS – Nothing, nothing.  Anyway, if you remember during the election it was rumored that Donald Trump had become a werewolf or possibly a loup garou.

LS – Yes, that was definitely a theory that swirled around the press corp.

MS – Well, I recently heard from someone (or possibly from a voice inside my head) that Bannon had become a vampire or some other type of undead.

LS – Well, that would explain a lot of things.

MS – Yes it would Lycra, yes it would.  After all, if Underworld has taught us anything it’s that lycanthropes and vampires are always enemies.  Also, we haven’t seen Bannon during the day recently.  And he is obviously suffering from a skin condition brought on by his vampiric aversion to sunlight.

LS – Of course, why didn’t I realize this before?

MS – Because it’s only obvious after a great mind points it out.

LS – Oh Shmoe, you are wise.  But where do we go from here.  Now that progressives are firmly in charge of the US executive branch again what is the next order of business?

MS – There are so many Obama initiatives that are languishing and that need a few trillions of taxpayer dollars to really perk up.  I would say that a new cabinet level department is the first order of business.  The Department of Black Lives Matter is the unofficial name I heard mentioned (by a voice in my head) but the name is secondary.  The important thing is eliminating this whole law enforcement and justice concept that has somehow infected our government for too long.

LS – Shmoe, that’s marvelous.  And to think, the Trump administration hasn’t even acknowledged Bannon’s departure yet.  What are they waiting for?

MS – I would guess it has to do with the cycles of the moon.  Lycanthrope/vampire interactions are far from an exact science.  My guess is the announcement will occur at the new moon.  That’s April 26th to you normals.

LS – Shmoe, isn’t it great to be living in this best of all possible worlds?

MS – Yes it is Lycra, Yes it is.

The Last 1360 Days of the Trump Presidency

Bring ‘em Back Alive by Frank Buck – A Short Review

I’m going to reference this post under both Science Fiction and Fantasy and Current Events.  Under either category an error is being committed.  But that’s the great thing about being the proprietor.  You can break the rules when it suits you.  Frank Buck was a wild animal importer back in the nineteen twenties and thirties.  He brought back never before seen creatures to Europe and America for zoos and circuses and other exhibitors.  He brought in the first Indian rhinos out of Nepal when that country was as isolated and inaccessible as the Moon is now.  His stories are full of hair-raising escapes from tigers and cobras and he fills them with exotic people from India and Southeast Asia.    The language and the characterizations of these non-western people is extremely politically incorrect even by the standards of fifty years ago.  But they are probably closer to reality than the current over-sensitive portrayals of non-western customs in the “thou shalt not offend the non-westerner” popular press.

Now the case for putting this under sf&f is because it ties into the movies King Kong, Son of Kong and Mighty Joe Young.  These movies are demonstrably some amalgam of sf&f.  The fantasy of an adventurer heading off into the uncharted jungles of the still partially untamed world and bringing back some fantastic and almost mythological creature is in part based on the popularity of Frank Buck’s stories in “Bring ‘em Back Alive.”  He goes into these jungles and using contacts with the local inhabitants locates and captures these legendary creatures.  Now granted, capturing a verified man-eating tiger or the largest orangutan is a lot less spectacular than fighting dinosaurs or shooting a fifty-foot gorilla off the Empire State Building.  But in the imagination of kids in the 1930s both were more exciting than going to school or working at a shoe factory.

Reading these stories recently, I am struck by the certainty that many of the details have been exaggerated to make the story more exciting.  This is especially true of the poetic justice that catches up to a cruel Maharajah in the story Tiger Revenge.  Also, it is amazing to see how primitive the methods for transporting these amazing creatures were back in the 1920s.  Tropical primates like orangutans were loaded onto freighters that took weeks to cross the Pacific Ocean and the conditions in the hold or on the deck were pretty bad.  Add into this equation storms or even typhoons and it’s amazing that he got anything “back alive.”  If any of the practices employed in those times were used today the ASPCA and the local animal welfare agencies would call for the death penalty for the importers.

But the stories are interesting and exciting on their own terms.  In one story a tiger trapper is caught in his own leg trap.  He is trapped out in the jungle at night with mosquitoes torturing him, ants attacking his wounded leg and the threat of jungle predators all around him with nothing to defend himself with if they attack and no way to escape.  Is the story true.  I doubt there is any way to know.  But the tale is compelling.

There are about twenty of these stories.  Most linked only by the presence of the author and a few other supporting characters like Frank’s Malay “boy” Ali (actually a man in his fifties) who assists him in his adventures and the directors at the zoos and circuses that were his clients.

My father read this book in the 1930s.  He gave it to me in the 1960s.  And I’ve given copies to my grandsons and nephews in the 2010s.  It seems to have a universal appeal to the male animal.  I recommend it highly.

Trump vs Inertia

White House West Wing –

President Trump (PT) – Bannon, Bannon, Steve! Get in here willya?

Steve Bannon (SB) – Right here Mr. President. How can I help you?

PT – I see a lot of headlines saying my popularity is in the 30s. Is that true?

SB – Probably more like low 40s but it has dropped a little since the Obamacare debacle. I’d say there’s nothing to worry about.  The Gorsuch approval will give you a nice bump and the Rice Spying reveal should also get you some points.

PT – Well, I guess that’s all true but I want to get things moving again. We need to produce some excitement around here.  People want to see action.

SB – Okay, do you have anything particular in mind?

PT – Yes, I do. You know how we have been touting all these jobs that Ford and Carrier and Walmart are opening up?  Well, it’s time to roll out a program to get existing small businesses to expand.  We need to put something in place to bust us out of the doldrums.

SB – Well, we’re already working on fixing the tax code to eliminate the problems slowing down small business growth.

PT – That’s slow motion progress. I need an explosion of growth.  We need something to start a fire.  What about a tax holiday for any business with sales less than hundred million dollars?  Let’s say for the next four years.

SB – That should make you real popular around the next election.

PT – Yeah sure, but more important, it will get things moving. It’ll get people working.  And it’ll benefit regular people instead of those global corporations that don’t actually like this country.  Any time I can give those bums a thumb in the eye I will.

SB – Hmm. That’s pretty good. But what happens when this holiday ends?  Won’t they shed those jobs?

PT – Not likely. They’ll be making money and they will want to make more.  Plus by then you slow pokes will have jiggered the tax code to make business more fair to the little guys right?

SB – Absolutely Mr. President.. Mike Pence is working with Ryan and McConnell to push it through.

PT – Oh Good Lord! We better get this tax holiday pushed through as soon as possible.  The way those guys get things done, my job rating will be a negative number before they start the reconciliation.

SB – I’ll put a team together to get it going. Wouldn’t it be a good idea if you were the salesman behind this idea?  You can be quite persuasive.

PT – Sure I’ll start the ball rolling but my idea is that we find about a hundred small companies that are ready to expand if the right business climate existed. We showcase these American businesses and point to the areas around them that would benefit from these new jobs.  If you can find stuff in the Rust Belt and the inner cities, so much the better.

SB – That’s pretty good.

PT – Yeah well we’ve got an advantage we aren’t from DC so we still know where money actually comes from. And I don’t mean the Treasury.

31MAR2016 Roundup

Interesting week. After the Obamacare train wreck, the Trump Administration seems to be moving along on all its initiatives.  Trump put out an executive order dismantling the Obama war on coal and fossil fuels.  The EPA reiterated that climate change policy is no longer being pursued.  Senate Majority Leader McConnell has said that a vote on Gorsuch will happen by April 10th.

The Gorsuch vote should be informative. Senate Minority Leader Chuck (The Schmuck) Schumer has declared that he will force a filibuster.  But there are a number of senators in red states up for re-election in 2018.  Several of them have already declared that they will not block cloture.  In addition, some dem strategists have stated that forcing the republicans to use the “nuclear option” (eliminating the filibuster for supreme court approvals) at this point will make it easier for the republicans to get the next SCOTUS appointee in when it will be a true change in the status quo.  If either a democratic appointee or Justice Kennedy is the next justice to be replaced with a truly conservative choice it will fundamentally change the complexion of the court.  So it’s even possible that Schumer knows that the filibuster won’t happen and he’s just posturing.

The North Carolina legislature predictably caved on fake women using the lady’s room. Interestingly, Texas seems to have a little more backbone when it comes to standing up to corporate pressure tactics.  We’ll have to see where the country moves on these battles now that Obama’s not there to use strong arm tactics for the liberal agenda.

Jeff Sessions said that convictions will be necessary to deal with the leaks coming out of the intelligence agencies. And his Justice Department is going after sanctuary cities, threatening to cut off law enforcement funds to cities that refuse to cooperate with ICE agents taking illegals into custody after they’ve been arrested for other crimes.  And once again Texas takes a conservative initiative.  Governor Abbott is introducing legislation holding Texas sheriffs accountable if they cooperate with Sanctuary City efforts to shield illegals from ICE agents.  Pretty smart.

Once Gorsuch is seated, I expect the Supreme Court will be asked to rule on the bogus lower court interference with President Trump’s immigration executive orders. Vice President Pence voted to break a tie to approve a bill to allow states to defund Planned Parenthood if they choose.  And finally, bids are being requested for contracts to build the border wall.   Some Mexican companies have been branded traitors for their interest in the contracts.

So, all in all Trump and company have been fairly busy after their “crushing defeat” last week. I want to once again go on the record to state unequivocally that I am still not tired of winning.  In fact, I think I am now officially addicted to winning.  So much so, that I need my fix more often and in bigger doses.  I hereby put President Trump on notice that he’s gonna havta up my dosage.  Speed up the winning treadmill.  That’s an order.

We Interrupt This MSM Funk to Provide a Message of Fun

It’s Saturday afternoon and I’m heading out soon for a get together with some family.  I have tomorrow to put together a post or two but I think maybe I should do some work for OCF today.  But what?  What does a man do to top my previous output this week?  After all I trashed Isaac Asimov in not one but two posts and then I had Melania Trump complete the agenda of the Trump Administration between her morning nail appointment and cooking dinner for the Donald and Barron.  I mean come on, I might as well just drop the mic and rest like the Lord did after creating the Magellanic Clouds.

But no, the faithful readers deserve something for the weekend and only a lazy creator kicks back every time he gets going.

So, what to discuss?  Logically, I should address the Obamacare repeal fiasco.  It’s been all over the MSM and they’re all swooning over the “impact.”  I should be eloquent about how it was a good thing that we didn’t pass a bill that was just more of the same and how we’ll get it right later, blah, blah, blah.  But honest, I just don’t feel any energy about writing it and it would show.  I’ll let Trump and those clowns in Congress tackle this one themselves.  I want something fun today.  We deserve it.

I want to talk about how the right wing needs to look at the opportunities we have in front of us in the next few years.  From my point of view, what’s important is to build up any alternative structures that can start replacing the compromised ones we have around us now.  Now, obviously, some of these existing structures are practically unavoidable.  If you’re a self-published author then Amazon is practically the only game in town and if you have an internet business I imagine it’s pretty hard to avoid Google in some form.  But even taking that into account, there are plenty of things you can do to help build up the other parts of the community that are out there.  For instance, Vox Day has publicized that Gab has become an alternative for Twitter, Infogalactic is providing an alternative to Wikipedia.  And even if you’re not a fan of the Alt-Right there are plenty of opportunities to help the right.  When you see a business on the right, support it (buy something from it).  If what you get is good, then go back next time you need something and tell friends about it.  It’s easy and it will make it a harder network for the SJW’s to crash.

And it’s time to build positive things.  Always fighting against something is exhausting (except to the warrior class).  It’s good to have something positive to talk about.  Of course, Trump is the elephant in the room.  His win has energized the whole right wing with positive energy that’s almost impossible to exaggerate.  But we need to look around us and celebrate the good things that still exist.  Find some old classic movie to watch with friends.  Buy some good music that doesn’t reference alternative gender sensibilities.  Pass along a book recommendation (either old or new) that has brightened your day.

And for pity’s sake, remember.  It’s spring!  Well not here in the horror that is March in New England.  But in the real world outside this Cthulhu infested hell-hole, flowers are growing birds are singing and kids are playing baseball.  Get out there and have some fun!  Take your best girl out for a ride and lunch and get some damn fresh air!

And don’t worry too much about Washington.  Trump’s got our backs and he’ll do what is necessary to keep those losers in Congress from thinking they’re actually human beings.  Next week those losers in the Senate will be forced to nuke the filibuster and get Gorsuch into the SCOTUS.  After that we’ll see some progress on the immigration and other fronts that renegade judges like to screw with.

So smile.  Life is pretty good.

Gorsuch Heads to the Hill

When Neil Gorsuch heads up to the Senate this week it’ll be interesting to see if his only enemies will be Democrats. Chuck Schumer has promised that he will force the Republicans to go nuclear.  What he is saying is that he will not release the Democratic senators in red states to vote against a filibuster.  The filibuster would prevent the nomination from being brought to the full senate for a simple majority vote.  This is a tricky situation.  There are seven Democrats up for re-election in 2018 who are in states that voted for Trump.  If all of those voted against the filibuster and the vice president threw in his vote that would be sixty.  But realistically it doesn’t seem likely that all seven would cave.  So if the Democrats can let a few of the most vulnerable vote for cloture it still allows few of the more secure senators to vote against.

This leads to the nuclear option. The Dems under Harry Reed eliminated the filibuster for every confirmation approval type but the Supreme Court justices.  This occurred because the republicans effectively blocked Obama’s other court selections.  Schumer at the time was hesitant about the decision.  Now he is shown prescient.  Trump has the potential of appointing another two (and possibly more) SCOTUS picks during his tenure.  And eliminating the filibuster would make the appointments under the current congressional make-up almost routine.

Great! What’s not to love?  Well, not so fast.  If I were to guess, John McCain and Lindsey Graham would be the usual suspects in any revolt in the ranks.  I can just imagine high flowery prose defending the sanctity of the filibuster as a sacred check and balance against the tyranny of the majority.  Blah, blah, blah.

Okay, how does it end up? My guess, Trump tells McConnell to promise McCain and Graham either some senate perks or some pork for their states and they find a way to vote for the change.  Then the same kabuki theater gets repeated during the actual approval when some other senators discover they have perks or pork that need to be addressed.  Long story short, Vice President Pence comes over to the Senate and Gorsuch gets approved 51 – 47.

You can say that eliminating the filibuster is a dangerous play. In four years President Warren will be nominating Justice Obama for the bench and we’ll be powerless to block that appointment.  To that I say, whatever.

You only get to worry about the bullet you dodge today. If you die today, writing on your tombstone that your bullet proof vest is on order would sound pretty pathetic. So the play is sound.  Get Gorsuch in.  Get Kennedy to resign and replace him with Tomás de Torquemada as soon as is humanly possible. And add another conservative jurist as soon as superhumanly possible.  So much damage has already been done that it will take eight years of a Trump administration just to get us back to the baseline of where we were under John Kennedy.

So gentlemen of the Senate, get off your asses and get it done. I was promised a (sort of) conservative Supreme Court by Easter.  But I’m getting impatient.  Let’s shoot for Palm Sunday.

Music to My Ears

This was the title to one of the Trump Administration stories on RealClearPolitics.com , “Mulvaney: We’re Not Spending Money On Climate Change Anymore, “Waste Of Your Money.”” The Mulvaney in question is John “Mick” Mulvaney, the guy in charge of the OMB. This is him answering questions at a press briefing about the budget cuts the president is proposing.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2017/03/16/mulvaney_were_not_spending_money_on_climate_change_anymore_waste_of_your_money.html
You’ve got to listen to this. If you’re a thinking human being living in the US who has suffered for the last eight years under the cognitive dissonance that was the Obama Administration then this will be like the sound of angel’s wings presaging the wrath of the Lord descending upon the fallen ones. On the one hand, Mulvaney points to cuts in the science budget via consolidation of agencies and trimming back mission creep as reasonable adjustments to useful research pursuits. On the other hand, he describes completely eliminating climate change research as getting rid of something that is just a waste of money. I think a tear may have come into my eye but I’m sure it was just hay fever.
Alright, so now you can see all the promise of this administration coming to fruition before our astonished eyes. No longer begging for a crumb back from the loaf that is stolen from you, he’s slapping the ill-gotten gains out of the mouth of the leeches who’ve been sucking our blood for generations. Can you imagine if the universities have to support the legion of “climate scientists” without government grants gushing in to support them? I can’t! Where do unemployed climate scientists go? Starbucks, Amway, Uber? Can you imagine thousands of Priuses roaming the streets trying to pay back those PhD tuition costs?
Yesterday I mentioned Terence Kealey’s book, “The Economic Laws of Scientific Research.” I plan to go into detail about the concept of completely replacing government funding of civilian R&D with corporate tax cuts for research. But here I’ll just say that any and all reductions in science funding will be a good start. But with respect to funding cultural and social missions (NEA, PBS, NPR, etc.) shutting down these operations should be considered a force multiplier opportunity. The aggrieved liberals plead that none of these budget items is even close to a billion dollars. Why cause such pain for such small amounts of savings? The reason I see is that we will be hurting the enemies of all the things we believe in. Putting the squeeze on these people will decrease the damage being done by them. Preventing damage is always cheaper than having to repair it. It should be the primary mission to remove these leeches from the body politic.
So Mick Mulvaney, you have officially entered the pantheon of Trump Administration heroes who brought a smile to my face and song to my heart. The only thing left for him to do is remove all air conditioning from the EPA offices to help them live up to their beliefs.

Trump vs The Mad Scientists

President Trump (PT) – Hey Mike! Mike, where the hell are you now, I need something.

Mike Pence (MP) – Right here Mr. President. I just got off the phone with Rachel Maddow and she was very upset about the income tax prank.

PT – Yeah, well you know what she can go do.

MP – Precisely, sir.

PT – Yeah, well anyway, I want to start the swamp draining a little early. We can restructure the whole thing when we have the new set up sussed out but the first thing I want to do is shut down the NSF and the NEA.

MP – Well I can kind of understand the NEA. That is a highly leftist infiltrated organization. And I share your unhappiness with the whole climate change industry and see why we can cut funding altogether on that enterprise. But isn’t it highly short-sighted to cut off funds to science all together? I mean if for no other reason doesn’t the military depend on the technology that streams from basic scientific research?

PT – Mike, haven’t you ever heard of the Third Law of Funding for civil R&D?

MP – Actually I haven’t.

PT – In Dr. Terence Kealey’s 1996 landmark study, “The Economic Laws of Scientific Research,” he formulated the third law which states that public funding not only displaces private funding but it does it at a factor greater than one. In other words, for every dollar of government money that is investedin civilian R&D more than one dollar is lost of potential private R&D funding. You see what that means don’t you?

MP – Mr. President, no disrespect but are you trolling me?

PT – Not at all Mike. I’m just showing you that by eliminating government funding of civilian R&D we will actually improve science and technology progress.

MP – But how can private industry afford to immediately increase their spending to make up for this government expenditure?

PT – Easy, I cut their taxes by the amount that we currently charge them for the funding and the government overhead we currently spend to administer those programs.

MP – My God, that’s brilliant.

PT – Yeah, Kealey really is a genius.

MP – but Mr. President, you are forgetting one problem. How will you employ all those people currently in the NEA and NSF. They’re gonna be mad.

PT – I’ll send them a link to Monster.com.

MP – Cold.

PT – Equations are cold Mike.

Trump Really Is Gonna Drain the Swamp!

I ran across this tonight, “Presidential Executive Order on a Comprehensive Plan for Reorganizing the Executive Branch.”
Wow.
If you love America how can you not love this guy? You’ve gotta read this.
https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2017/03/13/presidential-executive-order-comprehensive-plan-reorganizing-executive

It’s remarkable. The fact that we didn’t have all the Presidents that weren’t generals prove that they can run a business just shows how dangerous it is to let lawyers anywhere near your money. We’ve been cheated all these years. This is the kind of thinking that has been so lacking since,…, since forever.
Drain the swamp, then grow something useful there. It’s like a metaphor for the stupidity where the EPA says you can’t build a garden shed on your property because in the winter the snow forms a puddle there and there might be a salamander living in it that has 28 spots instead of the 26 spots that are found on the other salamanders across the road in a different puddle.
It’s like God finally said, “I can’t let these poor people suffer under these merciless cretins anymore. I’ll send the unlikeliest leader imaginable. He’ll be vulgar and vain and selfish and profane. And he’ll be the perfect foil for these evil men because he’s seen how they work and he knows how to beat them.
If he gets half of what he’s trying to do done, not only should we put him on Mount Rushmore and not only should we let his goofy hair flap over onto Teddy Roosevelt but we should let the Trump Corp. get the contract to build it.
It says in the executive order that the public can make recommendations. So, let’s see. How about merging NPR with the Coast Guard. I’d send the whole evening news team to a light house on Gooney Bird Island in the South Pacific and let them do something they’re qualified for, scraping guano off the light. And how about putting NOAA back in charge of predicting weather and out of the climate alarmist business? And what about letting the military do their job, killing our enemies, instead of convincing 98 pound girls that they’re actually Navy Seals or ninjas or whatever their latest fantasy is.
Of cours there is a downside. The unemployment rate will go up sharply. And most of these bureaucrats really have no marketable skills. What a shame. Well, dem’s duh breaks. Funny how it wasn’t important when it was factory workers in Pittsburgh. Hey, those people actually voted this time. Who’da thunk it?
Well, I must go to bed soon. I’m certain Saint Nick must be close by cause if this ain’t Christmas then I must be dreaming. And if I’m dreaming please don’t wake me up.
But in parting I just want to say that no president in my lifetime (and I’m counting Reagan in this) has opened my eyes to all the dysfunction and actual evil that exists in our so-called democratic institutions and the press. And no other president has shown the energy and guts needed to topple the towers of the unelected satraps who feed off our daily bread and give us nothing but pain in return.

Drain the damn swamp and pave the son of a bitch over so they can’t come back.
