How Much Weirder Will It Get?

We are living in a time that, with respect to weirdness, rivals anything in living memory.  We have whole areas of the country that are not only tolerating but actually abetting a violent insurrection on their own soil.  We have the intelligentsia and the various other elite groupings of the country almost monolithically backing an attempt to unseat a legitimately elected President of the United States by illegal actions of the Justice Department and Intelligence agencies of the Federal government.  And finally, we have a bioweapon unleashed by the Chinese and allowed by the Democrat controlled states to disrupt the life and economy of the country right before a presidential election.  All that’s missing is an eruption of walking dead stalking the countryside in search of fresh brains or a flying saucer invasion or an infestation of elephant sized giant ants in the sewers of Portland Oregon.  Scratch that last one.  No one would notice or care if Portland was wiped out by giant ants.  It would be an improvement.

There is a theory that right after the election is decided the rioting will stop and even the COVID hysteria will end.  Depending on the theorist this will or won’t depend on who wins.  Some speculate that if President Trump wins that the rebellion will continue and maybe even increase.  Others say that it ends no matter who wins.

I’m not sure who’s right.  I do know that the radicals have become completely unhinged.  I’m not sure they will disappear if the Democrats take over.  In fact, I think they will become the shock troops to reinforce whatever unconstitutional actions the Democrats proclaim.  If the President wins, he may be faced with this unending street violence into the foreseeable future.  Up till now he has barely intervened in places like Portland and Seattle.  But after the election it doesn’t seem possible that the status quo can continue.  And I’m sure the President wants to end this chaotic disruption of the peace.

So, this is what I think will be after the election.  If the President is re-elected, he has to crush the rebellion.  The correct way this should happen is for the FBI to gather up the ringleaders and prosecute them and those that funded and organized them.  If William Barr is slow to do this then he will have to be replaced.  And it seems we will know almost immediately if this will be necessary.  Barr has failed to prosecute the conspirators of the Coup against the President.  If after the President is re-elected Barr fails to act then he must be immediately dismissed and replaced with someone willing to clean out the Justice Department from top to bottom.  And this new Attorney General will also need to crush Antifa and BLM completely.  And I judge that this can be accomplished, if not easily, then at least after some diligence.

But if Biden wins the White House then the red states are going to have to take action against these groups inside their cities.  Places like Austin, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia will need to be cleaned out by the state governments.  This will be made all the more difficult by the interference that the Justice Department and its components like the FBI will perpetrate in support of the terrorists.  And I further believe that once the federal government is in friendly hands, these terrorist groups will unleash chaos on an even grander scale.  They will issue out of the cities and terrorize the suburbs and countryside.  It may be that this will be the spark that finally starts a counterrevolution.  But it will be mess.

These are my guesses as to what awaits us after the election.  Obviously, I prefer that a second Trump Administration will be the instrument of destruction for the Antifa and BLM vermin.  But either way, I think it is long past time that these anarchists are dragged away and put in prison where they truly belong.  Let’s hope that our leaders have the backbone to get it done.

05OCT2020 – OCF Update – photog Bound

Regular readers of OCF will have been dismayed at the low output for the last couple of days.  Shameful as it is to admit, the day job is interfering with my work here on the site.  As tragic as it is it will be short lived.  After Wednesday I will have a very long break that will allow me to bloviate to my heart’s content.

In the meantime, I’ll produce as much content in the next couple of days as is humanly possible while simultaneously being beaten like a red-headed stepchild or whipped like an army mule.  Working where I do is akin to being an orc.  But not one of the really cool orcs like the Uruk Hai, more like the morgul rat types that grumble and complain and are constantly whipped by the non-commissioned officer orcs that always overhear them grumbling.

The President has once again befuddled his critics and seems to have dodged the COVID bullet and now claims he’s feeling better than he has in twenty years.  What the hell!  Where’s my dose of dexamethasone?  I could really use a dose of “twenty-years-younger” right about now.  Oh well, he is the leader of the free world, if there is a free world anymore.

As an aside ShatnerKhan III will occur this Saturday and as a major change of pace, there will not be any pastrami or corned beef.  There was a decision to go with homemade sausage.  There will apparently be both regular Italian sweet sausage and a specialty thin Italian sausage called cervellata that was much in demand in Brooklyn back when there were Italian neighborhoods in Brooklyn.  Of course it isn’t pronounced anything like it’s spelled thanks to the magic of southern dialectical Italian.  It sounds more like shivrelod.  But if you told that to one of the guys from the old country they’d claim you weren’t hearing it correctly.  Yeah right!

It has been speculated that ShatnerKhan has degenerated into an excuse for eating fattening foods.  I would argue that is actually an upgrade.  Be that as it may, we will be breaking new ground exploring a little known gem from Shatner’s middle period called The Devil’s Rain (1975).  Just listen to this summary and look at the cast.

A satanist cult leader is burnt alive by the local church. He vows to come back to hunt down and enslave every descendant of his congregation, by the power of the book of blood contracts, in which they sold their souls to the devil.

Starring Ernest Borgnine, Eddie Albert, Ida Lupino

You might think this could be a good horror movie.  You might be wrong.  To round out the program we’ll be watching a favorite Star Trek episode to be decided by popular acclaim, listening to some of Shatner’s latest spoken word songs and watching a particularly disturbing interview that includes Shatner and Mike Tyson threatening each other with death.

In addition to sausage and peppers sandwiches there will be  pumpkin, coconut custard and apple pies a la mode, various sweets and coffee.  Camera girl offered a fruit salad as a healthy choice but we’re going with mounds bars and M&Ms.  Considering the age and weight profile of the audience there may be casualties.

There was a discussion about live streaming our comments on The Devil’s Rain but in order to maintain anonymity I purchased multiple copies of the mask that Michael Myers wore in Halloween.  This mask is supposedly based on a mold of William Shatner’s face.

After wearing one for thirty seconds I don’t think this will work out.  I also have my doubts about our technical ability to perform a live stream.  But some enthusiasm still exists.

Strange and stranger things are happening wherever you look but I contend we need to have some fun in the midst of this so bear with me.  I’ll be back to share some serious thoughts soon but right now chaos reigns here at the compound.

We Are the Real Resistance

I was talking to a friend about the current state of affairs and he asked me if so and so was to the left or the right of me and I reflexively said no one was to the right of me.  As soon as I said that I realized I wasn’t even sure what that currently means.  But I did feel it necessary to clarify my remark.  I said that I was and am a civic nationalist but that I no longer believe that the Left can be dealt with as a part of America.  I said that they must be dealt with as an outside enemy and that their use of identity politics means that we are forced to use identity politics right back at them.  And I added further that I wasn’t sure that we would ever return to a united state but might be forced to stagger along, at each other’s throats until one side convincingly destroys the other.

Saying this out loud to someone else had the effect of crystalizing some of the things I had been thinking about recently.  For the last three and a half years the Left has called itself the resistance.  And they have made it their mission to gum up the works for all of us and try to increase the misery factor for the whole country.  Their whole effort is to worsen life for their enemies even if that requires their lives to suffer in some way.  And especially in the last six months they’ve done just that.  And that got me thinking.  If somehow, they are able to get Joe Biden into the White House in January then the roles will be reversed and I will be a part of the resistance.  It will be my job to find fault with everything the Left does and look for ways to discredit their every action.  But more importantly, I will be looking to build things of my own that don’t depend on or benefit the institutions and allies of the Left.  And on a grander scale that is what everyone on the New Right will be doing.  We will have to solve the problem of the hostile Silicon Valley gatekeepers one way or another and we will have to court the business of the 40% of the population that are on our side and take that business away from our enemies.  And doing that will also force the rest of the corporations that currently cater to the dictates of the woke to realize that there is a price for belittling almost half of your customers if they are given a choice to buy from people who don’t hate them.

All this is true.  But it is also true that even if President Trump is re-elected, we are still the resistance.  The Left owns so much of the world we live in that whether we think of it in these terms or not we are the permanent resistance because they already own everything but our souls.  But luckily, it’s pretty hard to repossess a soul.  I’m not saying they aren’t working on it just that we’ve got some time to gather our courage to start fighting back.  Lots of folks on the Right like to compare our struggle to the 800-year Spanish Reconquest of their country from the Moors, the Reconquista.  I guess the good news is that if we fight hard, I don’t think it’ll take more than a single century to win.  The bad news is that religious fervor is in pretty short supply in today’s world.  But that can change too.  We are the descendants of a civilization that produced some of the most amazing philosophical, spiritual, scientific, military and artistic creations.  A culture that produced Aristotle, Alexander, Mozart, Napoleon and Newton should be able to outthink screaming blue-haired cat ladies and outfight umbrella brandishing vegan twig boys.

So, the point of this post is just to say, don’t wait for the election to start making a difference.  Start helping our side in every way you can.  And don’t be elated if we win the election or dejected if we lose.  This is the long war.  It will go on as long as you live so don’t hold your breath waiting for it to be over.

Live your life to the fullest.  Work around the Left wherever you have to and win as many small victories as you can by enjoying the things that they are too stupid to enjoy themselves.  Family, religion, manhood, womanhood, tradition, sports, culture.  All the things they are against and seek to destroy.  Celebrate all these things in your family and your friends and in a wider group that we can build ourselves.  And make an effort to support anyone on our side who has a product or service that you can purchase.  Buy American, Real American.

So, though I hope to read of his imprisonment sometime in the future I’ll paraphrase (grammatically) the words of Peter Strzok to his adulterous whore Lisa Page, “Vive la resistance.”

02OCT2020 – OCF Update – President’s COVID Diagnosis & Site Info

Here’s good wishes for the President and First Lady to have an uneventful recovery from their COVID infections.  President Trump, like you, I could stand to lose twenty or more pounds.  Here’s a good reason for both of us to start eating healthier and exercising more.  Camera Girl and the First Lady, being thinner and healthier are sure to nag us to do these things but we should do them on our own to ensure that the world will have long term access to such magnificent men as ourselves.

The site will be quieter than usual this morning as I attend to important matters.  I’ve been put in charge of my 2-year-old granddaughter and that is a full time job!  Camera Girl, hurry back.  I don’t have your stamina.

Jason Whitlock over at OutKick Speaks the Hard Truth About Antifa and BLM

Jason Whitlock is a black sports writer.  He’s gone on his own after working for FoxNews and I think ESPN.  He says what he thinks and doesn’t care about sacred cows of any color.  He’s saved me a buch of time talking about the debate and what was covered up about the riots.  Jason has some good insights.  And he’s unafraid of the outrage he causes.  Good for him.

29SEP2020 – First Presidential Debate – A Review

The first thing that should be said is that even though Chris Wallace is a lefty creep, he is probably going to be the least offensive of the moderators we can expect during the rest of the debates.  The ones going forward will probably be women from NPR and CNN that will whine and screech about every woman’s issue imaginable.

The format was supposed to be six segments with sometimes more than one question in each segment.  Each candidate was supposed to get two minutes without interruption to answer the question.  Well that didn’t happen.  The President interrupted early and he interrupted often.  But to be fair the lies that Biden was telling deserved to be refuted.  And several of the topics were slanted obviously against the President.

The questions that I remember were about:

  • The Supreme Court Pick
  • COVID
  • The Economy
  • Black Voters
  • Law and Order
  • President Trump’s Tax Returns
  • Climate Change
  • The President’s Ending of Anti-American Indoctrination in the American Government Offices
  • Mail-In Ballots

I would say that the President got the best of the arguments about The Supreme Court Pick, Black Voters, Law and Order, Tax Returns, Climate Change, Anti-American Indoctrination and Mail-In Ballots.  But that leaves COVID and the Economy that weren’t as clear cut.  Biden hammered away at COVID with all he had.  President Trump made his case but that round was more like a tie.  And since that’s a very important issue that needs to be improved on in the next debate.  On the economy both Biden and Wallace exaggerated the economic situation at the end of the Obama administration.  And Biden downplayed how well the economy has recovered after the initial COVID shutdown.  I want to give the President a slight edge on the Economy segment.  So overall I’ll say President Trump won the debate.  And above and beyond the stated topics, the President was able to raise the question of the culpability of Obama and Biden in the Russia-gate scandal and he hammered Biden on Hunter Biden’s activities in the Ukraine and China.

On a personal note I find it nauseating that the moderators still slant the whole proceeding clearly to the Left.  It’s good to see the President stood up for himself and zinged Biden left and right.  Some of my favorite moments were:

  • When Biden said the President was unintelligent and President Trump came back and said that Biden was at the bottom of his class in college and lately couldn’t even remember the name of the town, he was in.
  • When Biden criticized President Trump’s large rallies, the President mocked him saying the Biden rallies typically had about three people attending because no one wanted to attend something so boring.

So, to sum up what I saw:

  • Biden has to be credited with not being brain dead.  Whether chemically enhanced or just reinvigorated he only looked frail not demented.
  • The President vigorously defended himself on all fronts and jabbed Biden on all his weak points.
  • The moderators are going to be nakedly biased for Biden in their questions and their attitudes.
  • The President is going to have to come up with a more coherent COVID story that attacks the Dems for their linkage to China, their ineffective handling of protecting the elderly in the states they govern and the damage their extended lockdowns are doing to people and the economy.

First Debate – Quick First Impressions

Biden was coherent, so I guess the meds are working.  Toward the end he did seem to get a little rattled but not much.  Wallace was biased in favor of Biden but not nearly as blatantly as I expected.

Trump was in rare form.  He was interrupting Biden constantly and taking digs and shots at him left and right.  It was very entertaining.  Biden made up a lot of stuff as expected.  I think the President did what we expected him to do.  Biden held his own.

I think his most effective jabs were about Biden’s record for black Americans.  He talked about the crime bill and he talked about his own release from prison actions.

When it got down to the rioting Wallace protected Biden by stopping the debate before it could all be said.

And finally there were some good digs at Hunter Biden.  Very funny.

I’ll give the President the edge on this one but it was relatively evenly matched.

29SEP2020 – OCF Update

Well, where are we?

Tonight, is the first Presidential Debate.  The level of insanity that will be on display should be breathtaking.  I remember Biden in his debates against Sarah Palin and Paul Ryan.  He never lets truth or even common-sense stand in the way of saying something Biden.  His creepiness should be on full display.  But the big mystery is whether he is coherent or not.  Apparently, there are some drugs that can be used to lift a dementia patient up out of the fog.  If Joe seems sharp, not intelligent but sharp, then we’ll have to assume they’ve got him doped up.  Either that or he dogged it during the whole earlier part of his campaign.  Either way watching the debate should be interesting.

A month or so before Election Day and indications are that voter fraud through mail in ballots is going to be a wholesale business.  It’s going to be interesting to see if the adjudication of this election ends at the Supreme Court or goes way beyond that.  From the things I’m hearing this may turn into a freak show where voting levels go to unheard of levels and the whole process goes off the rails.  That sounds like something that could cause a very serious reaction from both sides.  The Left is already occupying the street in many blue locales.  If unrest occurs in places like Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin then armed conflict cannot be ruled out.

Florida has ended the COVID precautions and raised the all clear signal for its citizens.  This should be an interesting moment.  If two or three weeks down the road the daily death rate remains the same it will be an indicator that the other rational areas can do the same.  And it’s none too soon as far as I’m concerned.  The holidays are coming soon and I’d like to think this lockdown will end before Christmas.  New England will be the last to relent but at least if there are some early examples it will build impatience among the sane to pressure the authorities to wake up and smell the coffee.

I keep threatening to do some of my photo retrospectives but the day job has been keeping me busy.  But in about a week, things will definitely improve and I’ll keep some of my promises.  Insects are the first subject.  But hopefully I’ll have a foliage group and some other things too.  And I haven’t forgotten my promise to do a report on what I learned about photographing hummingbirds.

I still have another Olivier Shakespeare play (Othello) to review and I will continue on through the Star Trek series no matter how painful it becomes.  The powers that be are threatening to inflict ShatnerKhan III on an unsuspecting world.  I have been trying to figure out a way to live blog or make a podcast out of it.  Because of this I have purchased multiple copies of the Shatner mask that the Michael Myers character wore during the Halloween movies to allow for anonymity during the video.  This is an indication that ShatnerKhan has now descended into the madness that we knew it eventually would.  But since the food is well worth it, we expect to continue the series well into double figures.

And as promised I’m recruiting some other writers for the site.  And I like the change.  Not only because it takes some of the pressure off me to write but also because other voices make the site more interesting and generally better.  And I’m still looking for more writers.  If you or someone you know has some content to share leave a comment here or send an e-mail to orionscoldfire “at” charter.net and let me know.  And don’t restrict yourself to politics.  Anything interesting will be considered.
