A Republican Governor Does something Right and Smart – American Greatness Post of the Day

“Missouri Governor Mike Parson (R-Mo.) issued a pardon for the St. Louis couple ( Mark and Patricia McCloskey) that successfully defended their home from far-left terrorists last year, after local prosecutors had sought to charge them with a crime.  Parson is showing some real smarts here.  Encourage the people who vote for you and stick a thumb in the eye of those who are attacking your people.  Now go further and clean up the BLM activity in St. Louis and he’ll be thought of as a real leader.

I read that Mark McCloskey is thinking of running for the Senate seat that GOP Senator Roy Blount is vacating next year.  Of course, I don’t know much about McCloskey other than his choice in firearms and his desire not to let a mob burn down his house but that might be enough to get him a senate seat in these times of BLM mob intimidation.  Sounds like a feel good story to me.

Tucker Talks About Hungary’s Pro-Family Policies

Victor Orban is Hungary’s Prime Minister.  He is a populist Hungarian nationalist and he’d rather help his people raise their own families than import third world immigrants to replace them.  Tucker went to Hungary to talk to Orban and the media is very angry about it.  Listen to Tucker’s description of the program.  Grants to families that have three or four children,  No income tax for life for large families.  Tax breaks to grandparents that help with the children.  Sounds good to me.  I hope some of our leaders like DeSantis and Abbott go to Hungary and learn a few things there.

I’ve been thinking about Hungary as a refuge of last resort but not being of Hungarian extraction they probably wouldn’t let me in.  So there is definitely one club I’d like to join that wouldn’t have me as a member.  Take that Groucho Marx.

This Idiot Just Out-Fauci-ed Fauci

The Director of the NIH recommends that parents who have been vaccinated but have children under 12 years old should wear masks in their homes.  That may be the single stupidest thing I’ve heard so far from one of these medical bozos.  So if a mother has a six month old child she is supposed to wear a mask around him despite the fact that she’s in skin contact with the baby for hours at a time?  How about breast feeding?  Is that going through a filter somehow.  These people must think we’re morons.  If you live in the same house with someone else he will be exposed to any virus as contagious as COVID is.

I wonder if after this is over some unbiassed scientific panel can go over the statements made by Fauci and company and have it used as evidence of medical malpractice.  These people are worse than charlatans.  I’d trust a witch doctor before I’d go to them for medical help.

DeSantis Shows Some Brains and Guts

When the Broward County school system voted to mandate masks in the schools, Florida Governor DeSantis let them know that their funding would be cut in accordance with the recent law outlawing mask mandates in the schools.  And the schools backed down.  Finally someone with guts willing to stand up to Fauci and the other nitwits in the COVID conspiracy.  Let the parents who want their six-year-olds to wear masks do so.  Let normal people live normally.

Now that’s Republican leadership.  Let the rest of the Red State governors take notes.

 

 

 

The Great Contraction

The more I think about what is going on in the West, the more I’m convinced that the Elites want to get rid of us.  And by us I don’t even mean just conservatives.  I mean they want to get rid of everyone but them.  With the advent of artificial intelligence and the various technologies that it allows I believe they see a future with a human global population several orders of magnitude smaller than the present one.  So instead of six or eight billion people they would like it to be more like fifty million.  And maybe I’m still off by a factor of ten.  I could see them thinking that if there were five million humans inhabiting planet Earth that things would be a lot better for themselves and Gaia.  But whether the number is a million or a hundred million I think their idea is that most of us have to go.

If you look for the evidence it’s there to see.  Look at the causes they champion.  Abortion, deviant sexual lifestyles that produce no children, environmental activism that focuses on humans as a problem to be eliminated, educational programs that cannot qualify the candidates for useful work, “sustainable” energy sources that can only provide reliable energy for a fraction of the current population.  These are not meant to allow for a people to thrive but rather dwindle and vanish.  It’s the equivalent of using a targeted metabolic herbicide that renders the weed unable to thrive or reproduce.  Slowly but surely, it shrinks and withers away.

And I think it’s already well on its way to happening.  The method is; impoverish the middle class, put everybody but themselves into a sub-human existence with a poverty level welfare check, cheap drugs, free internet access and then disincentivize childbearing and childrearing and let the problem take care of itself.  And the amazing thing is a lot of the millennials are willingly going along with it.  The sheep are allowing themselves to be fed into the hopper that leads to the slaughterhouse.

Now I don’t mean to seem hysterical.  This isn’t some apocalyptic battle.  They aren’t going to start building the soylent green plants.  They won’t have to.  It will be a slow painless process of slowly contracting the breeding population to only those who can adapt to the conditions that they are creating.  Anyone who can stomach parroting back the latest mantra of equity, inclusion and diversity can keep living on their treadmill for a little while longer.  You can even raise your family.  Although they are propagandizing your children to think that bringing white people into the world is a crime.  So, the machine is still working on them too.

Meanwhile the Eiltes’ children go to private prep schools and Ivy League universities where it is understood that other than parroting the newspeak when any of the proles are around, they are fated to live in the “better world” that will exist after the riff-raff have been exterminated.

With the resources available to the global elite, it’s not unreasonable to think that they will be at least mostly successful in their program.  After all they’re not talking about eliminating some other race or ethnic group.  No one thinks of genocide involving people by class.  But that’s the plan in a nutshell.  I guess it’s hard to know if the Chinese will get on board such a program.  They have already retreated from their version of this idea with the cancelling of the ill-conceived one-child-family mandate.  But who knows?  As the Chinese become more integrated in the global community perhaps their elites will become integrated with their global brethren and embrace the dream of de-peopling Earth.

Well, where does this leave us?  I guess we have three choices.  We can try to become part of the elite and just let everyone else go down the drain.  Or we can organize our own community and look out for each other.  We can help young people afford to raise families and build wealth.  The question is whether we will be allowed to do this inside the sphere of influence of the global elites.  And that brings us to the third choice, leave.  The developed world is becoming monolithic in its rules and its ability to control the lives of those it rules.  It may be that the only way to thrive as a non-elite community is to move out of the first-world.  Maybe there’s still room in Eastern Europe or South America or parts of Asia where the influence of Cloud People isn’t yet all powerful.  I hesitate to say that we’ll have to head off into the Amazon jungle just to raise families but who knows?

This theory is not original to me.  I think many people have looked at all the trends that the people in charge look at and see that their agenda dove-tails with an effort to decrease the “surplus” population.  Why I think it is important to think in these terms is that any short-term political victories we may have won’t address the long-term strategies that the Elites pursue.  That would only happen if we took away all their money and I don’s see that ever happening (although it is fun imagining).  And it is useful to think in these terms.  It provides you with a way to prioritize what is needed to survive such a program.  Basically, make sure that your kids produced kids and they produce kids and so on.  Whatever you do to make that happen will make a Cloud Person sad.  And that’s good.

That photog Guy Was Really Smart

I was listening to a podcast on the American Mind where Michael Anton is discussing with one of his colleagues, Machiavelli’s ideas and how they relate to our war with the Woke Left.  And he talked about how this was going to be a long war and nobody should think that taking back the Congress in 2022 or taking back the White House in 2024 will solve all our problems.

And that reminded me of something I wrote back a year ago.  So I went back and reread it.  And I’ll be darned if I wasn’t pretty sharp that day.  And that dove-tailed with something I found today.  It seems that Andrew Torba over at Gab is working on his own version of PayPal.  If he can make that happen he will be in line for canonization as a saint on the Right.  Being able to monetize web content without having to kowtow to the Left is sort of the Holy Grail for folks on our side.

So let me end by quoting my younger self and bask in the glow of my former eloquence….

Once you acknowledge where we currently are, you can begin to adapt to your environment and then thrive in it.  Situational awareness is very important.  Never play to their strengths.  Unless you have an armed bodyguard of special forces men you probably shouldn’t show up at an antifa rally in Portland, Oregon and declare your political beliefs.  If you want to start a fraternal society then make it a religious society that has protected status that can’t be shanghaied by social justice warriors and turned into the next Boy Scouts.  But be sure not to do it in a blue state.  In those areas everything will have to be on a clandestine personal basis.  And a personal basis is the best way to live your personal life anyway.  Know your friends and spend your time with them.  And it doesn’t even have to be your next-door neighbors.  You can make friends on-line and enjoy that experience too.  A shared point of view makes a good basis for association.  Nowadays free association only exists on a personal basis but you can make that work very well for many of the interactions you can choose to have.  This website is a perfect example of free association.  It’s very unlikely that Leftists would want to spend much time here since they’re not interested in the things I like and disagree with more or less 100% of what I believe.  Whereas people who hold similar beliefs with me will feel as though they belong here.  By congregating here we get to spend time with like minded individuals and also pass information back and forth.  Some of it is trivial like a book or a movie that’s interesting.  But maybe one day you hear about a job opportunity or a place to live or a politician that’s helping our side.

Boy that young fellow seems really smart to these old eyes.

02AUG2021 – Good Morning Gulag Archipelago!

Word today is that office workers in “health-related” fields in New England have reinstated masking requirements.  The local cable news is sounding the alarm that the delta variant is stalking the region and without masks and constant fear COVID wins.  Go Team Fear!  Of course the number of deaths seems to be completely petering out so I’m guessing that even the panic stricken New Englanders are having a hard time goading themselves into mandatory masking and the rest of the madness.  It’s sad to say but I think the delta variant is a bust.

Anyway, with my new emphasis on useful things I’m going to spend a good deal of today enjoying a beautiful early New England Winter day with temperatures in the high seventies and lots of blue sky.  I hope to get some more fiction writing done and some yard projects.  Yesterday Camera Girl lowered the boom on me and mandated that I clean out the gutters on the garage and pool shed.  This was an unsafe and unfunded mandate that required me to climb rickety ladders and face unknown dangers such as wasps, noxious fumes and repetitive motion injury.  When I finished I was hoping that at least there would be a sign or a banner declaring me “the real hero.”  Alas there was none.  The only acknowledgement I received was the news that cleaning out the gutter made the dog’s pen area “smelly.”  There is no justice.

Today I’m going to try and get some photos with the 200-600mm lens.  Camera Girl has been swooning over a family of rabbits that has been eating some of our hostas.  Since she won’t let me shoot them with a firearm I’ll see if I can get some shots with the camera.  Also birds and butterflies will be my other targets.

I can write some gloom and doom later but right now it’s too nice out to waste the time.  Go and enjoy the splendor.

I recently wrote the below to a friend and they are seeing the same thing:

It seems that the mega entertainment corporations hate their customers so much that they are happy to commit suicide just to hurt their customers.

A crazy statement? Hear me out:
The latest Star Wars trilogy featured all female leads (The poor black dude who featured large in the first movie was a tertiary character at best in the second two.)
“OK, fine,” I thought. “The force can be used by male and female. No big deal. On with the story.” And I’m sure lots of people like myself felt the same way.
But Disney went further. It wasn’t enough to have STRONG FEMALE LEADS (TM) they had to destroy the male leads that came before. Luke wasn’t just a Jedi who was past his prime, he was a coward, a loser and a child murderer. It’s like Disney was saying: “Take that! All you losers who loved the original movies and characters. We’ll wreck them for you.”
Yes, the movies made money – lots of it, but only about a third of what they should have made. Did you hear of anyone standing in line to see those movies 4 times? 3? even twice?

OK, that’s a single example. . . .

The latest Marvel movie – Black Widow – has a scene consisting of women discussing their menstruation issues. I am told that Disney put that in the movie “Just to make men uncomfortable”.
Who watches comic book movies starring sexy women wearing tiny tight costumes? Is it pre-teen girls? Is it soccer moms? Is it the local Karen group of wine and whine?
No! Its men! Men and adolescent boys are your target audience. Why would you put in a scene just to make them uncomfortable?
Because Disney / Marvel hates their audience.
Black Widow is going to be the lowest grossing Marvel movie ever and may not even break even.
But it’s worth it, because they hate their audience and want to hurt them.

OK, that’s 2 examples, but they are both from the same company.

Let’s talk about Dr. Who. (Do we have to?) The BBC recently introduced a female Doctor Who. Not a female Gallifreyan – that had been seen before – but a female Dr. Who – the title character. OK, Its Sci-Fi, anything is possible. The fans will still watch as long as the writing is good. . .
But the writing was horrible. Every single plot revolved around social justice and other Woke topics. The fans stopped watching in droves. Remember that this is the longest running series in the history of television – almost 60 years of fans. There are people who grew up watching the show who are now collecting social security who have turned it off. The ratings are so bad that the BBC is considering cancelling the show.
But it’s worth it because they hate their fans.

The thing is that these companies are hurting themselves. The fans will go elsewhere – Japanese Manga is a big winner. They still feature male characters defeating bad guys and saving the day. (For now.) But the dollars the fans of Star Wars, Marvel, and Dr. Who would have spent on the movies, and products won’t be going to those mega corporations.

This is insanity. This is mental illness. And in the case of a publicly traded company, this might well be criminal.

The Federal Government Has Become an Occupying Army

Government is always an irritant.  Being told what to do and how to do it is irksome.  No one enjoys paying their taxes or obeying traffic regulations or filling out confusing and sometimes meaningless forms.  But we do it because the overall value of living in an ordered society outweighs the frustration of these petty irritants.  After all, without the law we would have much bigger problems than a traffic cop writing us a ticket for speeding.  We’d be fighting for our lives against some maniac who took offense at how we didn’t go fast enough on a highway.

But in the last year we have reached that threshold where the government we live under is actually a greater harm than the good it provides.  I don’t mean this in the sense that it would be better if tomorrow we lived in the state of nature.  If the post office and the police and the highway department and the local Walmart shut down operation and their former employees became gangs or roving marauders pillaging the town square, I think things would be even worse.  But what has happened is that organs of the state have stopped performing their agreed upon functions.  The police now let mobs attack US citizens at will on US soil and have no intention of stopping them.  The government no longer interferes when corporate entities discriminate against citizens based on things like their political beliefs or even the color of their skin.  The government health agencies have stopped providing accurate information about something as frightening as a biological weapon that a foreign power has unleashed against us.  Worse, they are mandating policies that disrupt almost every facet of our public and private lives and are doing so in an almost vindictive way that provides no health benefit.  The government intelligence agencies now regularly spy on US citizens and then collude with tech companies and the supposedly neutral press to target their political opponents.

Even the citizens who align with the party now in power, the Democrats, are finding it harder to justify the crazier and crazier outrages that have been going on.  Avowed progressives like Matt Taibbi and Glenn Greenwald find themselves forced to make common cause with their cultural enemies at Fox News because they still value the concept of honest journalism, government accountability and the Bill of Rights.

The federal government has decided they don’t need us anymore.  They believe they have crossed some threshold beyond which we no longer have any say over what they do.  And it is becoming clear that they will try to make that a permanent situation.

Needless to say, this doesn’t sit well with millions of people.  What isn’t clear is how to remedy the situation.  The federal law enforcement and military have been making very clear statements that they are watching us carefully and will drag any dissenters away to prison if they think any organization is threatening their control over the population.  It will take leaders of the states to stand up to that kind of physical coercion.  And even that isn’t a sure thing.  It’s amazing how quickly the FBI has come to resemble the KGB or the Stasi.

So, what’s the point of this essay?  It’s to help some people reset their thinking.  The federal government is no longer the legitimate representative of the people of the United States.  It’s a criminal gang that has taken control of the territory where you live.  It is very powerful and well organized and dangerous.  But you have no moral obligation to honor it.  You may obey it out of fear or because you see an advantage to do so but don’t mistake that for patriotism.  You are in the same position that the French people were under the Nazi occupation.  Vichy could pretend to rule “Free France” but everyone knew he was just a cowardly collaborator.  You may have to obey but it is without consent.

And if the day comes when we regain our freedom there may be very dire consequences for the men who did this to us.  Remember who they are.

A Message in a Bottle

A lot of you have seen the cartoon.  A man shipwrecked on a desert island writes a letter requesting help, seals it in a bottle and throws it into the ocean.  The punch line varies based on the philosophy or the humor of the cartoonist.  Maybe a bottle washes up with a sarcastic reply or maybe he is rescued and one day finds his bottle floating up to his home port or maybe his own bottle returns to him unanswered or maybe some pirates or cannibals find it and come to finish him off.  But the idea of sending out a cry for help to the world is a powerful concept.  It appeals to our feeling of solidarity with humanity.

In a way this blog is somewhat like that.  Trapped in my little corner of blue state America it’s easy to feel isolated and trapped.  Of course, that’s not completely true.  I have my friends and family and acquaintances that align with my way of looking at the world (for the most part).  And I can read the right-wing websites and even watch some of the non-leftist content on a few outlets that still haven’t cancelled it.

But in a lot of ways the world I remember is being erased and my world is contracting.  Thirty years ago public radio used to be fairly entertaining.  Now it would be like listening to fingernails on a chalk board.  I used to like watching a ball game occasionally.  Now it’s just another chance to insult me.  They’ve whittled away the things that made life fun.  Even the movies have become unwatchable.  And I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who feels this way.

So, I had to invent my own game, my own fun.  I look at the world and I write out my thoughts and I put it into the bottle and I hit the enter key and it travels around the world and sometimes I get an answer.  It could be a yep or a nope or a pat on the back or even occasionally a middle finger but it’s an answer, it’s a voice, it’s an affirmation that the rest of you are out there.  It means I exist.  You comment, therefore I am.

So that’s the secret of this blog.  You all are the power source that make this blog work for me.  I get my motivation, my validation from your presence.  Even those who don’t comment but come back every week or every day or even several times a day reinforce my reason to write.  Sure, part of it is that I just enjoy the mental exercise of reasoning about the things going on in this crazy time we live in.  There’s value in figuring things out on paper (or pixels) and I think better when I write things down and I enjoy posting my reviews and my photos.  But I mostly enjoy sending out my thoughts and ideas out into the internet ocean and getting some bottles floating back with some replies.

So thanks to all you folks out there who show up and read my notes on the shores of this infinite ocean.  It’s nice knowing you’re out there and don’t be afraid to say hello if you have the urge to do so.  I can always use the company.  It’s an awfully big ocean.
