What Have We learned over the Last Five Years?

Camera Girl headed out into the wide wonderful world of shopping and left me at home to revel in Father’s Day isolation.  Yesterday the family came over and we ate barbecued beef and all the splendiferous foods that Camera Girl knows how to make.  I watched the little ones playing very happily with each other and talked with the older ones and even with my children.  That was actually a lot of fun.  And they even got me a very nice photography related present.  It was a great visit.

And now today I am ensconced in my Father’s Day relaxation.  Maybe I’ll go outside a little later and do some work or take some pictures.  But right now, I thought maybe I should see what I’d like to write about.  And what I thought of on this day of quiet and contentment is, “What have we learned?”

No ranting, no raving.  No fist shaking or oath taking.  Not even much blaming.  Just what lessons have we learned and what practical actions should we employ in our lives?

One thing that is absolutely known now is that those opposed to us are running almost the whole show.  Even when the Presidency, both houses of Congress and the Supreme Court are all nominally held by Republicans the workings of the federal government are unmistakably under the control of the Left.  In the executive branch which is supposedly directly under the control of the president we witnessed bureaucrats from the cabinet level down to low level functionaries defy and successfully thwart the orders of the President of the United States.  We saw the judiciary branch conspire with the Justice Department to prosecute cabinet picks of the President and his friends in ways that would only seem possible in a banana republic.  The military has been shown to be full of traitors and ideologues.  The Congress in both houses and in both parties are full of leftists who have no regard for the protections that the Constitution should provide for the citizens of the United States.  And we know just how useless most of the Republican “leaders” really are.  John McCain, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and Liz Cheney were not on our side.  They are frauds and our enemies.  And now that the Democrats have the Executive and Legislative branches in their power, I think we should be unsurprised when they enact unconstitutional laws that strip away the little freedom we have left.

And in addition to the federal government, it is now crystal clear that the private corporations are all aligned with the Left’s globalist and anti-white project.  Even looking beyond the blatant anti-white prejudice of the Silicon Valley companies we are faced with the spectacle of 2020 where every company from Coca Cola to Walmart announced their allegiance to the Anti-America project that BLM and Antifa and the Democrat Party had concocted.  Anti-white indoctrination is being openly pushed on employees of these companies and now the schools have been added to the agenda.  Our children from daycare on through graduate school will be harangued with propaganda alleging the genocidal and inhuman crimes that the Left has convicted us of in their twisted minds.

This is the lesson learned.  That is the black pill.

Now here is the white pill.  We can each of us reject all of this.  Now it is clear that we are a separate nation from the Left.  We are not their countrymen.  All we owe them is hatred and contempt.  We can raise our children to reject all of this.  We can educate them to see the propaganda.  And we can raise them to know what we see is the truth.

It is our responsibility to work against all of their agenda by any and all means possible.  We don’t have to worry about being fair or consistent.  They are neither of these things.  Real politic is fine.  Thwart them however you can.  Look for leaders to appear on our side and support them.  And don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.  No one on our side will be a saint.  Accept that and allow for it.  As long as they aren’t monsters they will still be better than the slime balls on the Left.  Someone would have to be pretty creepy before he even comes close to Joe Biden or Hunter Biden or one of the other bug men.  Donald Trump is a flawed man but he was the greatest agent of political change that the Right has seen in my lifetime.  Look at the actions of a leader, not just his words or his hair.  Great things can still happen in this country if we’re honest and brave.

So, I’ll stop there.  What we’ve learned is that most of the power centers in this country are controlled by the Left.  But that if we start from that point of view, we can unite and advocate for the things we want in open resistance to the Left.  And that is enough for now.

Happy Father’s Day.

Happy Father’s Day Weekend

Since we have generations of fathers in the family I was glad to get today as a visit from my kids (and some of my grandkids) and leave Sunday for my sons-in-law to get their day.  There was talk of rain but it’s a classic summer day out there with temperatures already climbing into the heat zone.

I did my yard work yesterday so I don’t have anything to do but walk around take some pictures and play with the grandkids.  Pretty good.  All you dads and granddads have a great day and have an extra burger or dog just for the hell of it.  And if the wife is not to strict maybe some pie and/or ice cream is called for too.  Add in some decent coffee and that sounds like a good enough day for anyone who isn’t a world conquering swashbuckler.

Anyway ignore the noise coming from the left and have a great day.

Hat Tip to Vox Day for this Link to the Boy Scouts Alternative

Trail Life USA  is a Christian alternative to the Boy Scouts of America.  This article that Vox linked to sounds like a hopeful start to an organization that wants to avoid all the mistakes that the Boy Scouts have fallen into.

But just as with the Boy Scouts parents would be taking an enormous risk if they put their children in the hands of people that they don’t know are 100% reliable.  Pedophiles lurk in the shadows of any organization that has access to children.  Mothers and fathers, guard your children and take the time to get involved with all of their activities.  In fact, the correct way to look at one of these organizations is a way to leverage their organization to enrich the outdoor experience you share with your own family.  You have to get involved.  At the very least you must have someone involved who you would trust with your children’s lives.

Finally a Rational Police Response to Portland’s Leftist Government

All fifty officers of Portland’s riot squad resigned after one of their members was indicted for allegedly assaulting a “journalist.”  My only comment is, “What took you so long?”

I think the whole Portland police department should simultaneously resign and let Antifa burn the whole stupid city to the ground.  The citizens of that city deserve every bad thing that happens to them.  I just wish Antifa was armed with nukes.

Festivus For the Rest of Us

The geniuses in Washington have made “Juneteenth” a federal holiday.  First of all, Juneteenth?  That’s a word?  Couldn’t that also stand for June 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, or 18th?  Can I call July 11th Juleventh?  And how would I know it doesn’t mean July 7th?  And do we all get to pick a federal holiday now?

Frank Costanza made a strong case for Festivus (December 23).  What with the feats of strength and airing of grievances it seems like a natural for the age we live in.  And personally, I favor Colour Blindness Awareness Day (September 6) but could see people having their own favorites.

But Juneteenth?  Isn’t that what Martin Luther King’s Birthday is for?  How will the Puerto Ricans feel about this?  And where will this leave the Tierra del Fuegians and the Patagonians?  And what about the Eskimos?

Supreme Court Upholds Religious Freedom in Case Pitting Catholic Adoption and Homosexual Rights

Within a narrow interpretation the Supreme Court upheld the right of religious organizations to refuse to allow homosexuals to adopt or foster children.  The decision was unopposed but was narrowly worded to let stand underlying law that still threatens the 1st Amendment rights of religious freedom.

“Although Roberts handed a win to Catholic Social Services, he slapped down a push from fellow conservatives to use the case to overturn Employment Division v. Smith, a landmark 1990 case in which the court found that laws that are generally applicable do not violate the First Amendment. That decision has been increasingly called into question as a number of states pass laws raising conflicts between religious and gay rights interests. Roberts wrote that Smith did not apply here because Philadelphia’s policy was not neutral.

Several justices said they wanted to revisit Smith. In her concurrence, Barrett wrote that she had found “compelling” reasons to overturn Smith. Still, she added, that since the case did not apply here, she joined the court’s opinion in full. Alito also attacked Smith in a 77-page opinion, writing that the case is “ripe for reexamination.”

Alito added that CSS’s victory can be easily undone as long as Smith stands.

“This decision might as well be written on the dissolving paper sold in magic shops,” Alito wrote of Roberts’s opinion.”

Well, even a small win is till a win.  But with the Roberts court there’s never really asense that much progress is made.  Basically he is progressive in sheep’s clothing.

A White Pill for 15JUN2021

An old expression is, “Forewarned is forearmed.”  And over the course of the last few months, I have come to think that is a good message for all of us.  Knowing what these rats are trying to do should be a huge advantage in minimizing the damage they can do to us.

But not only that.  Framing the situation correctly has other advantages too.  The utter contempt and hatred I now openly express for our enemies is not only liberating but also truly pleasurable.  Getting to call them vile names is a joy.  And if anyone tries to tell me how both sides are legitimate leaders for this country, I just laugh at him and express as derisively as possible how absurd that statement is.  Of course, I qualify it by saying that most of the Republicans are also phony bastards.  But the primary message is that the Democrats are open enemies of the free people of the former United States.

And looking at things that way clears my head and drives away the feeling of helplessness and confusion.  I assume the worst.  I reckon from the point of view that they’ll get Joe Manchin to do their will and that will allow them to pass their election bill and the slavery reparations and the Supreme Court packing laws.  I assume they’ll do all the crap they want to.  Assuming that means that what I’m waiting for is whether any of the red state governors will push back and say no.

The only way this country, or at least, a part of it survives as a free land, is if someone stands up to the feds and says no.  “We won’t let you steal our elections.  We won’t follow a packed Supreme Court that makes unconstitutional decisions.  We won’t let our children be taught to hate their ancestors.”

That’s what I’m waiting for.  And I can afford to wait a little while.  But not forever.  If nothing happens and we get dragged over the cliff into serfdom then I’ll make a move to a better place.  I’ve begun to look at other places like Hungary, Poland, Singapore, even South America.  It won’t be a happy decision to make.  It’ll be a sad one.  But it can be made with a clear understanding of what is here and what is gone.

And that is why I will forever have a fondness for Donald Trump.  He is responsible for opening my eyes.  He spoke the truth when everyone else was afraid and everyone else lied through their teeth.  JEB and McCain and Paul Ryan and Rubio and W and all the rest of those phonies who sold us down the river every single time there was a chance to fix things.

Donald Trump made all of this possible.  He wasn’t able to drain the swamp.  They harried his administration for over four years.  They tried to disrupt every good thing he did.  They are still going after him personally and they are punishing everyone connected to him.  He may even one day be able to get back to the White House and make more progress.  But even if he never does another thing, he has brought light into the darkness.

So, there’s my white pill for today.  Knowing the score makes you free.  Your mind is free and you can determine your own fate within the possible options that are out there.  You can’t single-handedly make this into Old America again and you can’t completely avoid the damage that the Left spreads.  But you can act from an intelligent position.  And that’s not nothing.  That’s my message.

Someone at the American Thinker is Speculating on the Arizona Audit

Someone named Andrew Coy is wondering exactly what would happen if it turns out Donald Trump won Arizona.  He further speculates what would happen if the other swing states also do audits and it turns out Trump won those too.

He looks at the likely reaction by the Military and the Supreme Court.  Interesting speculation.  I haven’t thought about it enough myself yet.  But I put it out there in case anyone was interested.  I’ll reserve judgement for a few more weeks when the Arizona count is due to conclude.  If it does come out in favor of President Trump that will be a big deal and then things could start getting very interesting.

Max Morton’s Latest – Federalism is Key to Surviving a Divided Nation

This guy Max Morton has so far always had something interesting to say.  He starts this essay out by saying that endlessly kvetching about the latest atrocity out of Washington is not only useless but self-defeating because instead of doing anything to stop the atrocity we just stand there pointing at it.

“It is fruitless to continue arguing the same tired Left/Right arguments. “Owning the libs” on Twitter, relentlessly calling out the hypocrisy of our political opponents, and focusing our time and attention on outrageous content may be entertaining, but it won’t save us from the oppression and serfdom of the authoritarian oligarchy that is presently transforming America.”

He gives as an example the Biden administration’s attempt to ban AR pistols.

“The conservative commentariat’s response has been loudly to point out that this will have little or no effect on the effort to quell gun violence. Really? Does anyone honestly believe the regime’s interest in banning tens of millions of legally owned firearms and potentially making millions of law-abiding Americans felons overnight is for the purpose of reducing gun violence? This has nothing to do with preventing gun violence and everything to do with disarming American citizens—a longtime, major plank of the Democratic Party and an essential step towards authoritarian rule for every dictator in modern history.”

Morton is saying that the effective action is to have the state you live in protect your rights as specified in the Constitution.  In other words let the state nullify any federal overreach into our rights but use the federal government for the functions such as defense, highways and trade that it’s supposed to be in charge of.

Now of course the devil is in the details.  Basically he’s saying the state government is going to have to step up and arbitrate the way in which it will tame the federal government.  and that needs to be specified.  So there aren’t any concrete examples beyond what we are seeing from DeSantis in Florida and to a lesser extent Abbott in Texas.  So I would say this is only a partial answer to the question Morton is asking.  But the fact that he is telling the outrage mongers to shut up and do something useful is very useful.  Basically he is saying you can stop sounding the alarm we can all see the fire burning from where we’re standing.  Now someone get a bucket brigade going and maybe we can put it out.

An interesting read.

The Country Leading the World Into a Nuclear Power Future – Finland?

Apparently the Finns have taken a decisive step toward making nuclear power the basis for their electric energy generating capability right through the next century.  The Finns have done the work to not only move into the next generation of nuclear power plant design but they are currently building the first modern large scale long term (permanent) repository for spent fuel rods.

If only Americans were as realistic and logical, especially all those global warming kooks who want to get away from fossil fuels but are too stupid to realize we already have the technology that will replace fossil fuels in the future.
