13MAY2019 – OCF Update

Greetings Folks.  Busy work and family stuff has been a challenge lately but I finally got some spring pictures going (well mostly spring, there are some Early March winter scenes).  Afraid there are a lot of moss photos in there but it is a very wet place I live in.  In fact it’s been raining almost continually for the last month or so and it’s starting to affect my usually sunny disposition.

The news for our side has been almost entirely positive for the last month or so but I feel like I’m still waiting for some piece of good news to drop.  Maybe I’m just getting greedy but I think there is something big coming soon.  My guess is something from the Barr investigations.

I’m curious to see if Nigel Farage is able to harness the British anger over the Tories’ betrayal of the Brexit movement in order to replace them in Parliament.  Third parties are always a disaster in US presidential politics but under a parliamentary system being a spoiler sometimes means holding the keys to the kingdom.  Time will tell but I’m impatient to know how this one turns out.

I had fun doing the Twilight Zone/ Democrat spoof  (   Trump vs It’s a Good Life (Part 1)    )  and I wanted to do some more but I’m waiting till I have the right match up.  In the mean time I’m plowing along with my Twilight Zone reviews.  It’s funny, even some of the episodes that I remember annoying me on a second viewing can grow on you.

And War Pig, I finally finished watching  EEGAH!  You are right.  This is weapons grade schlock.  But you can tell that the creator put his whole heart into it.  The mummified cave men with EEGAH talking to them was a wonderfully goofy idea.  This Arch Hall guy must have been a character.  Turning his son into a Ricky Nelson/Fabian surfer boy for the movie shows a monumental lack of parenting scruples.

Well, just wanted to catch up.  Here’s hoping for some yuuuge news soon.

If You Need Something to Cheer You Up Today

Roger Kimball of the Spectator opines that AG Barr is not a man to trifle with.

https://spectator.us/doggedness-william-barr/

“The man is part terrier (and another part Sphinx). He will get to the bottom of this whole rotten story and (as he explained in that earlier confirmation hearing) he will neither pursue anyone groundlessly because he has influential enemies, nor will he forbear to indict someone who has broken the law because he is politically powerful. I believe this is true. Like Koko in The Mikado, I have a little list on which are the names of several prominent Democrats who I believe have broken the law. William Barr surely has a similar list, though his is probably longer.”

Brexit Party Strength in EU Elections Signals a Fight Coming Up

Farange and his Brexit party are attracting voters from both Tory and Labor voters.  The new party is out-polling both of these parties in the upcoming British EU elections and it is plain that in the future the Brexit Party will attempt to force the Brexit by winning seats from both the Tories and Labor in an upcoming general election at some time in the future.

Can Farange save the exit from the EU?  Well, that’s a question mark at this point, but whatever else happens the Tories look to be out as the majority party once the next election finishes.  And a self-inflicted death blow is the only way to describe it.  This is what we’d expect from the likes of John McCain or Mitt Romney.  Arrogant tone-deafness is the description I’d attach to this level of  imbecility.

Sharyl Attkisson Tells Us Why Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn Was Targeted by the Russia-Gate Scam

Attkisson was spied on by the Obama Justice Department because of her sources in the Intelligence community and she knows quite a bit about how and why.  She points out that Flynn as the former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency under Obama knew what was going on and was supposed to clean up the FISA malfeasance.  And that’s why he was targeted.

William Barr Revisited

Back in the middle of April I said that although William Barr appeared to be a typical apparatchik of the Washington Swamp, the fact that some of my fellow deplorables were strangely optimistic about the prospect of Barr prosecuting the upper echelons of the Obama administration over the Russia-gate did give me pause that maybe I was being too pessimistic about Barr.

Watching Barr’s testimony in the Senate last week was very illuminating.  I’m starting to think I might be wrong about him.  This did not appear to be a man who was interested in placating the Left.  In fact, he seemed to be a man who was confidently intent on straightening out an intentionally tangled web of lies.  And because of this he seems to be charting his own course for getting it done.  Appearing before the Senate and not kowtowing to the lunatic left represented there by that inveterate liar Blumenthal and that idiot Hirono demonstrated that he’s not interested in currying favor.  And cancelling the House questioning when he could see that they would use it to showboat their outrage in a chamber where Republicans would be powerless to prevent a spectacle was brilliant.

The cyclone of left-wing anger and fear this cancellation caused is a wonder to behold.  Shortly after his Senate appearance, the New York Times published leaked information from the cabal to try and get ahead of revelations that they knew will be publicized by the various investigations going on in the Justice Department over the overt and unlawful spying that the FBI and its allies here and overseas conducted against members of the Trump campaign.  This is obviously a consequence of the Swamp anticipating grand jury testimony by members of the Russia-gate conspirators.  Possibly they are hoping to sway public opinion to the idea that what was done was reasonable and legal.  And if the Attorney General were a risk-averse and politically sensitive member of the swamp this scripting would probably be an effective tactic.  But what if instead of being risk-averse, Barr is a seasoned law enforcement professional and someone who doesn’t like to be manipulated.  And what if he is aware of just how much power and discretion the Attorney General of the United States is granted in the pursuit of high crimes and misdemeanors perpetrated against the U. S. Constitution?  And further what if he knows that the President of the United States has been the victim of a railroading exercise and that said President is a vindictive bastard who would like nothing better than to nail his enemies’ hides to the barn door?  Well, that could be a very interesting situation.

Now that is a very long list of suppositions.  The biggest one is that William Barr is actually courageously patriotic enough to take on the entire Deep State for Donald Trump with whom he has no past allegiance.  Many of the conspirators Barr would be exposing are colleagues that he has known for decades.  And unless his life has been preternaturally spotless, he will be assaulted by every newspaper and television journalist that can be drafted into service by the Swamp.  And even if he is as pure as the driven snow, they will attack his friends and family and if necessary, they will get crazy people to perjure themselves claiming every crime from rape and murder down to shoplifting and jaywalking.  In the last extremity I wouldn’t put murder past these people.  So, I still think it is entirely possible that Barr will be the firewall to shut down the Mueller investigation without the Deep State paying a price.

But I’m much less certain of it.  In fact, I’m becoming more optimistic that Donald Trump has finally found an Attorney General who knows how to perform that job.  And that should become apparent within the next month or two.  It won’t take too long for grand juries to be convened.  If I see that happening before the Fourth of July, I’ll believe that Barr is for real.  What happens after that is less clear cut.  I think there is a range of possibilities.

The first possibility is that the Deep State has their own firewall in place.  To anyone with even a scintilla of discernment Peter Strzok and Andrew McCabe have the words “fall guy” emblazoned across their foreheads in flashing red letters.  I think it’s even possible that they’ve willingly volunteered for the assignment.  Strzok just seems too gleefully eager to play the part he’s been assigned.  If the two of them fall on their swords and accept the blame for the whole mess then it will be difficult to prove otherwise.  Of course, I wouldn’t doubt that their families would somehow receive some kind of quid pro quo in the form of a multi-million-dollar kick starter paid for by the Clinton Foundation or some other crime family money laundering operation.

But if either one of them is not a willing fall guy then squeezing one or both of them will be extremely efficacious.  If McCabe turns state’s evidence then Comey, at least, is dead meat.  And after watching Jim Comey over the last few years I would be very surprised if he didn’t roll over and give up everyone involved up to and including his boss, Loretta Lynch.  After that, who knows?  Could these people be rolled up all the way to Obama.  I guess it’s possible.  But a thing that has to be remembered is that just because something can be done doesn’t mean it should be.  Convicting a former Attorney General of the United States of conspiracy to undermine the election of a U. S. President would be tantamount to starting a civil war between the left and right.  And I’m not saying it would be unjustified.  Basically, what has been done is treason.  But the consequences of pursuing this all the way will not be without severe consequences for both sides.    Without a doubt, some limits may be imposed by the President and his Cabinet if they think it will be too explosive to pursue the white rabbit all the way down into Wonderland.  But if these swamp creatures talk, the results will be at the very least assurance of a second Trump term.

Okay, that’s a lot of supposition to hang on William Barr, at this point.  Let’s see what he does in the next eight weeks and that should tell us what we need to know about the conclusion of the Russia-gate hoax.  Stay tuned.

Facebook De-Platforms Those Who Don’t Toe the Politically Correct Line

This week Facebook banned Milo Yiannopoulos, Alex Jones, Louis Farrakhan, Laura Loomer and Paul Joseph Watson.  Except for Farrakhan, all of these are on the right side of the political spectrum.

President Trump lamented the purge and said he is monitoring the attacks and deplatforming of right wing individuals by Silicon Valley.

But reviewing this same phenomenon, Tucker Carlson denounces the politicians on the right standing idly by while their constituents are silenced and treated as criminals by the un-elected leaders of the Tech Companies.

Tucker makes a very strong case.

The Z-Man Has a Post Analyzing the Impact of Capitalism on Religion and Fertility

This is a very interesting way of looking at how life in a capitalist society impacts private life.  I agree with a lot of it but where I would put extra emphasis is how women working weaponizes the situation.  When women are advantaged by affirmative action to deprive men of their chance to support a family it can only exasperate  the deleterious effects of untempered capitalism on family life.

30APR2019 – American Greatness Post of the Day – Why Are Clapper and Brennan not in Jail? by Angelo Codevilla

Codevilla cites chapter and verse of the Intelligence Law (theComint Statute) that should guarantee that both these men (former CIA director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper) be prosecuted and jailed for what they have revealed to the press.  His conclusion from the fact that they haven’t is that the Deep State consists of the elite of both parties and their loyalty to each other as a class trumps any consideration of legality.

Identity Politics and Civic Nationalism – Part 2

Identity Politics and Civic Nationalism – Part 1

At the end of the first part of this post I said I’d look a little more closely at the specifics of the Dissident Right’s logic and compare it to my own way of looking at where we are.

First off let’s acknowledge something that we cannot afford to forget.  The Dissident Right (or Alt-Right if you prefer) was the only group who both knew what was going wrong in this country and weren’t afraid to say it out loud.  They recognized that the Left was in control of all the levers of power and the Establishment Republicans had no intention of changing the results of the Left’s program.

The Dissident Right explained exactly how the schools and colleges proselytized the children and how the Media, the Democrats, Big Business and the Courts twisted every part of society until nothing remains of the normal world of just a few years ago.  And as proven, the Establishment Republicans use the anger this generates to get themselves re-elected.  But once in office they can be depended on to never actually reverse any of this destruction and instead just talk about how dead set they are against whatever the next outrage is.  And when that outrage becomes law they just move along to the next.

And the Dissident Right identified the fact that both Parties and Big Business were determined to use immigration, both legal and illegal, as a means to swamp out the votes of the citizens of the United States as a way to eliminate all resistance to their agenda.  It was plain during the 2016 election that none of the Republicans, no matter how “conservative” he was, would say a word against illegal immigration for fear of being called a racist.

And the Dissident Right was the only group that supported Trump.  Everyone else either said he was a joke or abhorred him for being a vulgarian.

So, as I said above, ignoring the Dissident Right means ignoring the only group that knew how we were losing the Country to the Left and how we could stop them from doing it.  Clearly what they say has to be carefully considered.

But you might say, why not just jump on their band wagon?  For me, that is a disturbing choice.  The Dissident Right is comprised of people who believe that differences in race and even ethnicity prevent a heterogeneous state like the present United States from living in harmony.  They believe that the future will be a fractious hodge-podge of identity groups that, led by the trouble-makers on the Left, will spend all their time pursuing imaginary grievances against the European Americans that they’ve been told are holding them back from being happy.

The Dissident Right points to affirmative action discrimination and the destruction of the family and the LGBTQ lawfare warriors and de-platforming of people on the right and say we are already there and that once we are a majority-minority-nation, things will only get much worse.

Accepting this hypothesis as true is not something I would do unless forced by irrefutable evidence.  But having it espoused by people who have been right about things that the majority were wrong about means I have to find reasonable arguments for why the Dissident Right is mistaken in their conclusions.

Instead of going through a bunch of cases and subsets of categories I’ll sum up the problem we’re experiencing by saying that in the 1960s when the economy was very strong the leaders of the Democrat party saw that they no longer had an unbeatable coalition of disaffected voters like they had in the 1930s and 1940s.  They decided to follow the Marxist playbook and weaken their enemies by sowing as much division as they could.  They espoused abortion as a way to destroy the family and they sponsored all the grievance movements to further fracture the country.  They infested the schools and steadily eroded intellectual life until even the sciences were politicized and distracted from their primary functions.  And they enshrined massive immigration both legal and illegal.

But even when all this was going on it was still possible for a conservative leader like Ronald Reagan to rally the Right.  And when that happened, the country was able to see itself as one people.  It was only when we were led by people who believed in the propaganda of the Left that everything has fallen completely apart.  Basically, since 1988 (thirty years) we have been living under the rule of the Left and their Globalist Echoes on the Fake Right.  Bush Senior, Clinton, Bush Junior and Obama allowed every outrage of the Left to happen to us with either enthusiasm or feigned reluctance.

This track record is why I think that the Dissident Right may be mistaken in the irreversibility of the changes we are experiencing.  In just two years President Trump has installed a whole generation of federal judges who will begin the process of reversing the damage done by the rogue judiciary.  Without Justice Kennedy it’s possible that the SCOTUS will reverse the decisions that found a constitutional mandate for abortion and gay marriage and affirmative action.  Those types of actions would change the world we live in.  Once those injustices are addressed people would see the world much differently.

The final thing that I need to address is the Race Realism that the Dissident Right says will prevent the United States from existing in harmony.  They claim that both differences in behavior and feelings of separateness will forever keep different races and ethnicities from living peacefully together.  My experience with diversity is a product of growing up and living in New York City in the 1960s, 70s and 80s.  Believe me when I tell you that things were very far from harmonious in the “glorious mosaic” that existed in that era.  There was a separate neighborhood every ten to fifteen blocks and mostly the ethnic and racial groups didn’t happily mingle or even interact.  There were riots and even several large areas of the city burned down.  Crime was rampant and the subways were very dangerous as were the parks and other empty areas.  Of course, the Democrats were always stoking the unrest with grievance propaganda.  But then I remember what happened when the city finally had had enough and elected a law and order Republican, Rudy Giuliani.  It got better!  And indeed, the people of all races and ethnicities felt more united and less angry when a sensible government started enforcing the law and holding everyone accountable.

I won’t claim that there aren’t differences between people.  In fact, I’ll go one step further and says we’re all different from each other.  Every family has a smarter kid and a tougher kid and a kid who doesn’t follow the rules.  But if one kid does better in school you can’t hold him back to make the less smart kid feel better about himself.  And as every parent knows, the best way to keep the peace in a family is to come up with reasonable rules and make sure that everyone follows them.  It’s only when you see someone else getting away with something, you’re not allowed to that trouble begins.

So, this is getting overly long.  My way of thinking about this is that if we can elect non-leftists who want to restore normalcy to the country, we can do it.  Maybe it won’t happen.  But just saying it’s impossible doesn’t appeal to me, at least not yet.  President Trump has given me hope that it can be done.  Let’s see if he can do it before we throw in the towel.
