Awhile back I linked to a post by Michael Anton in which he reviewed a self-published book called Bronze Age Mindset.  Well the author of that book was given a chance to address the content of the post over at Claremont’s American Mind webpage.  I’ve linked to it below.  If you are at all interested in the dissident community that was the on-line heart of Donald Trump’s support in 2016 then you may find this article very informative.  I did.  The pseudonymous author (Bronze Age Pervert) is extremely persuasive in laying out his case for the need, or rather, the unavoidable certainty of the collapse of the current liberal worldview.  Highly recommended read.

Taibbi Mocks the Russophobes on the Left

Matt Taibbi is no fan of President Trump but he is willing to call BS when the Left talks crazy.  Here he points out that Hillary Clinton is talking nonsense when she labels Tulsi Gabbard a Russian Asset.  In fact he says that Hillary is nuts.  How can you not love that?  Then he talks about the rest of the Left’s supposed russophobia.  This is the third article from him I’ve enjoyed. Surprising.  Check it out.

Taibbi is a prog journalist but recently he’s shown that he’s one of the few progs who actually believes in objective reality.

Colin Kaepernick’s Agent Can’t Figure Out Why his Client Hasn’t Been Signed

When I saw this headline,   Colin Kaepernick Agent, Increasingly Frustrated at NFL’s Snub, Sends Out Press Release

I thought it was a satire piece like in the Babylon Bee.

After reading it I knew it was real but because of that it’s much funnier than any satirical piece could be.  Imagine this.  Kaepernick torpedoes the NFL’s relationship with its most loyal fans, sues the league for malfeasance and wins millions and then his agent is increasingly frustrated that no one wants to hire him and start the cycle over again.  It’s pure comedy gold!

In order to set the record straight and counter the false narratives out there his agent sent out a press release.  Here are some of the best bits:

Has Colin been offered a job by an NFL team?
No, not a single team has offered Colin a job since the 2016 season, in which he began his peaceful protest.

Has Colin ever had a workout with an NFL team?
No, not a single team has brought Colin in for a workout. Seattle brought Colin in for a visit but did not work him out. Afterwards, Pete Carroll said Colin is a “starter in this league.” No other NFL team has interviewed or worked out Colin in the past 3 seasons, despite other false statements in the media to the contrary.

What about Colin being a “distraction” with the 49ers?
His coach, Chip Kelly, during the 2016 season said about Colin, “He is zero distraction.” In that same 2016 season, Colin also won the Len Eshmont Award, voted on by 49er players and given to the 49er who best exemplifies inspirational and courageous play.

 

Well I’m glad to hear he was zero distraction as he tanked the league’s ratings with his protest.  Anyway, Nike will drag old Colin out for at least a year or two more until everyone actually forgets who he is.  Then they’ll harass us with some new dumbass they find biting the hand that feeds him.  Hey maybe Colin can go to China and try his protest over there.  After all the Uighur people are being oppressed pretty awfully by the Chinese.  I’m sure the Chinese would be grateful to Colin for pointing this out to them.  They are a very reasonable people.  Just ask the Uighurs and the Tibetans.

 

 

Curtis Yarvin Has a New Pill for Us to Take, The Clear Pill

Mencius Moldbug (aka Curtis Yarvin) was the tech savant who got interested in the power structures of the modern world.  He is credited with borrowing the red pill/blue pill imagery from the “The Matrix” and using it as an analogy for waking up to how the world really is run.

In this new set of posts, over at Claremont Institute’s “the American Mind,” he describes, in his typically long, highly elaborate way, a thought experiment to try to get at the objective truth of how our society is actually controlled as opposed to the official version.

Yarvin is not an easy read.  His writing style is expansive.  It reminds me of a spider spinning a web that spirals out and out until you can’t even remember where you started.  But I find him extremely interesting.

If CNN admits to being worried about President Trump flipping Minnesota in 2020 then that strikes me as meaning it’s already a fait accompli.

In 2016 Donald Trump flipped Wisconsin and missed Minnesota by about 40,000 votes.  I’m guessing Minnesota hands us 10 electoral votes next year.  Good news indeed.

 

Arizona Supreme Court Protects Small Business from LGBTQ Coercion

A small business in Phoenix just won a first amendment case against a Phoenix Arizona ordinance that would have forced them to provide artwork for a same-sex marriage that they object to on religious grounds.

After the success of the Supreme Court rulings in Colorado and Washington it looks like some small sliver of sanity is returning to First Amendment legislation.

Hopefully enough precedent will build up to give SCOTUS the guts to make a more sweeping decision against this sort of thing in general.

 

 

I Detect a Little Panic on the Left

I read this article today and as much as I hate to click on a left-wing site (in this case NY Magazine) I couldn’t resist the title (What If the Only Democrat Who Isn’t Too Radical to Win Is Too Old? By Jonathan Chait).  I’ve linked to it but don’t feel you have to click on it.  I took the hit for all of you.  But it really is a delicious broth of fear and confusion.  Apparently, the Democrat party and the Media have decided that Democrat voters will embrace a radical left wing agenda in 2020.  And their reason for believing this is that Twitter told them so.  They are embracing the social media exclusion of the Right as a basis for believing that everyone is a woke Millennial.  It’s wonderful.  Apparently soccer moms in the Midwest have just been dying for someone to take away their private health insurance and give the money to illegal aliens so they can have health care.

Now even the Democrats are starting to jump on the Creepy Joe bandwagon.  I’m starting to feel pretty prescient right about now.  But it’s still early, shouldn’t get too far in front of reality.  But the Trump/Biden debate is looking sweeter and sweeter by the moment.
