Some Thoughts on What to Expect in the Mid-Terms and the Middle Term

The short term of our world is becoming clearer.  COVID is limping off, stage left, along with what’s left of Dementia Joe’s credibility.  Inflation is taking center stage and appears to be finishing off what’s left of the Democrats’ legislative agenda and their hopes of holding onto the House and possibly the Senate.  Putin and Xi are waiting in the wings to slap Dopey Joe around and strip the last vestiges of his foreign policy and military reputation.  In a very few weeks the Democratic Congress will scatter to the wind doing their utmost to try to save their jobs.  In the short-term, wreckage and wrath are swirling around Washington.  And experience says there’s just about nothing that Biden can do to make things any better this year.  The Mid-Terms will be a rout for the Democrats.  They’ll lose 40+ seats in the House and odds are they’ll lose three or four seats in the Senate and thereby lose both Houses to the Stupid Party.

What I wanted to talk about is where do we go from there?  Let’s take the best case.  The Republicans take the House decisively and end up ahead in the Senate 54 /46.  That ends any chance for Biden’s radical agenda, period.  And it also allows the stoppage of more Democrat federal judges.  McConnell did that last time too and it was effective.  But now the Republicans own the Congress and they take the blame whenever Biden can convince the stupid public that something the Congress should legislate doesn’t happen.  It’ll be unemployment benefits or extending the federal budget or something equally dumb.  So slowly over time they’ll take damage and look bad.  This is the inevitable progression.  Now what would be different and interesting is if the House takes the initiative to investigate and impeach Biden over the content of Hunter Biden’s laptop.  Now that might be exciting.  Forcing Hunter to testify and exposing the tawdry details of the Biden crime family sounds like the perfect way to tar the Democrats with a very dirty brush.  Do I think the Stupid Party has the smarts to do this?  My guess, probably not.

Now, there is a lot going on besides Congress.  The Supreme Court has been very active of late and has been touching on substantive issues.  The abortion decision coming in the fall is huge and the 2nd amendment and affirmative action cases are even bigger.  These cases could have enormous consequences in the real world.  And in fact, the abortion case can itself be the only event that could save the Democrats from losing the House and Senate.  If the Court were to rule Roe v. Wade unconstitutional it could galvanize women to vote for the Democrats.

Then there’s the Red States.  Florida and to a lesser extent Texas and a few other states have begun resisting the bullying by the feds.  There has even been talk of coordination across states to strengthen the resistance.  Things like cracking down on illegal aliens and protecting citizens’ first and second amendment rights are at the top of this agenda.  But it could spread to other aspects of life.  It might involve industrial policy and even educational reform.  We’ve seen a little bit of that in Virginia where a parents’ revolt against the teachers catapulted Youngkin into the governor’s mansion.

I see these things going on in parallel with the jockeying for position for the 2024 Republican Presidential Primary.  DeSantis and Trump are going to have to either broker an agreement or go to war with each other.  I prefer an agreement.  Even if Trump gets the nomination, he’s a one term president so he needs DeSantis to be his successor.  They should obviously form a ticket.  Now how soon this plays out depends on a bunch of things.  If the Republicans win the House, then all the nonsense about the January 6th stuff ends and we’ll start to see real campaigning happening early in 2023.

And all of this stuff is boilerplate.  It’s already written in stone.  What I’m interested in knowing is the wild card.  Will Putin annex the Ukraine?  Will one of the Red States go to war with the feds in a really spectacular fashion?  Will the feds blink?  Will the Supreme Court outlaw affirmative action?  Now, these are things that could change the world in a big way.  But in each case it still will take a courageous man to seize the opportunity presented and push things to a new reality.  And that’s the real wild card, the appearance of a leader. brave smart

There is much that is newsworthy today.  But all of it is incremental to old stories.

Reactions to the Supreme Court decision on the OSHA Mandate from both sides.  The far-left reaction is comically panic stricken.  One writer at Salon named (I kid you not) Heather Digby Parton claimed:

“The goal of destroying the government regulatory apparatus that makes America a first-world country is shared by Republicans from Bannon to Utah Sen. Mitt Romney to Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney to Chief Justice John Roberts and every conservative in between. And it’s one of the most radical agendas any political faction has ever advanced. If you want to know why all the Republicans backed Donald Trump even when they knew he was monumentally unfit, this was it. They got their court and their dream is about to come true. Unfortunately, it’s a nightmare for the rest of us.”

So, Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney are wild-eyed bomb throwing radicals.  Good to know.

 

Lindsey Graham, of all people, is warning Mitch McConnell to patch up his differences with Donald Trump to avoid damaging the Republicans’ effectiveness in 2022 and beyond.  He says:

LINDSEY GRAHAM: You don’t have to agree with Trump, what he did in Syria I didn’t like it. I’ve had my differences with President Trump but I appreciate what he did and the media tries to divide us all the time. January 6th was a dark day in American history but it was not Pearl Harbor, it’s not 9/11, and that’s all they have to talk about. So to my Republican colleagues, let’s spend our time growing the party and realize that President Trump is the most consequential Republican in the country since Ronald Reagan and see if we can work together. Whether or not they can repair the relationship is up to them, not me. I hope so.

SANDRA SMITH: Senator, you would not be saying any of this unless you believe Donald Trump was the future of your party.

LINDSEY GRAHAM: You are so smart.

SANDRA SMITH: And that he can actually win.

LINDSEY GRAHAM: You are so smart.

JOHN ROBERTS: We know you well enough.

SANDRA SMITH: Is that it?

LINDSEY GRAHAM: In case you missed the last four minutes, that’s it.

A mealy-mouthed milquetoast like Graham is mocking brainless Fox News reporters?  Has the world gone topsy turvy? To me that signifies that even spineless mollusks like Graham recognize just how badly the Biden administration has overreached and want to make the most of the political thumping the Dems are about to experience.  It seems to me the Stupid Party should be gathering donations from their billionaire patrons to build a larger-than-life statue of Manchin and Sinema and set it up in the Capitol Rotunda.  As to the question of whether Trump and McConnell can bury the hatchet my guess is no.  McConnell is a weasel and making money on his position probably overrules any other consideration.  So doing the right thing isn’t even in his vocabulary.

 

Here’s an article handicapping the Senate outcome in 2022 based on Dementia Joe’s approval rating which is at about 41% currently:

“What does it tell us about 2022? Assuming the parties don’t nominate particularly weak candidates and there are no further retirements, a Republican-controlled Senate starts to come into the picture when Biden’s job approval falls to around 51% and becomes the most likely outcome at around 48%.

At 42%, the model envisions virtually no chance for Democrats to hold the Senate and predicts a loss of four seats as the most likely outcome. At 42%, the Colorado Senate seat could potentially come into play, assuming that Republicans produced a credible candidate (remember that a relatively unheralded candidate held Sen. Michael Bennet to a six-point margin in 2016).”

 

Well, that sounds wonderful.  Crying Chuck Schumer will lose his majority leader job and be forced to hand over his seat to AOC along with his testicles.  What’s not to like?

 

Here’s an article that calculates the real inflation rate as almost double what the administration is saying.

“The probability is that inflation will run closer to 10% than 5% for the first half of 2022, pushing the Fed to tighten more than investors now expect.”

This shows us that nothing can provide good economic news before the November election.  The Dems are toast.

 

All of this is good news.  Well actually, it’s bad news for our enemies which is not quite the same thing but close.  We’ll have to suffer through what’s coming but at least the bad guys will get their lumps.  Even the idiots who legitimately voted for Biden are horrified and disgusted at the mess he’s presided over.  The incompetence, arrogance and malevolence have been impossible to miss.  They are going to lose the House and most probably the Senate.  Good.

But we’ve been in this situation before.  Our side is run by idiots and they will not kick the enemy when they’re down.  They’ll help them to their feet, dust them off and extend the hand of friendship just in time to get stabbed in the belly.

So, for me this is the time to work on building our own things and look for allies.  In my mind Ron DeSantis is the brightest light that has appeared since 2016.  What I’m looking for is a breakthrough.  I’m looking for an initiative that pushes the Left back instead of just trying to stand our ground.  And maybe we’ll see some of that in late 2022.  So, this is a good time to judge who are the real leaders and who is just collecting a paycheck.  Judge them by their results.

The 2022 Mindset

What progress we’ve made in the last few years is mostly in the form of changes to mindset.  The days of voting for team red and hoping for the best are over for many of us.  Allegiance to a party or a politician is now a transactional relationship.  I give you my vote.  You receive a salary or power or graft or all of the above in return for you stopping my enemies from taking away my freedom.  That is the bargain.  If party or politician fails to do those things then we look for an alternative mechanism to get what we want.  And that alternative may go all the way to leaving the city or the state or even the country for greener pastures.

But that is only one dimension of what the new mindset means.  More fundamentally it means that you examine everything in your life through a different lens.  I look at every company, person, service to see if it helps my enemies.  If it does, I look for a way to avoid that relationship or at least to minimize the damage it causes our side or maximizes the inconvenience it causes their side.  Basically, I’ve introduced spite as an operational part of my lifestyle.

Of course, the better way is to find a way to help our side.  If I can find a social network that caters to our people, I’ll use it and support it.  If a corporation is friendly to our side or even if it just explicitly says it won’t punish our side then I’m a loyal customer even if it’s slightly more expensive than the woke competition.  And finally, finally, finally these sorts of opportunities are beginning to appear.  Donald Trump’s social network and Rumble and domain hosts like RightForge and even some payment providers that cater to the non-woke are coming into existence.  These need to be examined carefully to avoid any grifters who only want to take advantage of the Right.  But for the legitimate providers of services this should be a high priority for those who claimed they want to support our side.

2022 will be the chance for voters to reward those who tortured us with COVID fascism.  There are enough people in the middle who saw their children treated as pawns by the teachers’ unions and the Democrats to allow us to flip the tables on these creeps.  Virginia is the proof that there is enough appetite for revenge that lots of moderately blue areas can be pushed to the Right.  And that can be very valuable for 2024.  Places like Virginia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Wisconsin need to put in place laws that prevent election fraud, even the old-style election fraud that Democrats commit in large cities.  It’s entirely possible that with not too much effort a Republican president and Congress can be ensured in 2024.

And 2022 will be the chance for a lot of the cities and states to do something about the George Floyd nullification of law and order.  Certainly, some of the cities are beyond hope.  San Francisco, New York, Portland and Chicago are terminally progressive.  Only salting the Earth makes sense in these places.  But maybe some of the other places are ready to change.  Or maybe the states they reside in are ready to do something about the lawlessness, even if only to quarantine them from the rest of the state.

But as stated above the change that occurred and was confirmed in 2021 is in our mindset.  We owe no allegiance to the people who hate us.  They are not our countrymen.  They are citizens of the global hive.  Their interests and our own are diametrically opposed, so helping yourself and harming them are almost always the same thing.  In the last few weeks, I’ve heard more and more of the usual suspects starting to make the “Why can’t we all just get along?” noises.  Don’t listen, don’t believe them and don’t buy into it.  That’s just the media whining that no one is paying to read their tripe.

So, get ready for 2022.  Things are still plenty horrible.  Terrible people are in charge of the federal and many of the state and local governments.  Our freedoms have been usurped by bureaucrats and deep state stormtroopers.  But the truth is emerging from the shadows and our enemies have made themselves hated and ridiculous.  Their incompetence and insanity are destroying their legitimacy.  Protect yourselves and avoid their malice.  2022 will be better than 2021.

November 8th 2022 Should Be Named Liz Cheney Replacement Day

Liz Cheney is America’s Karen.  She’s an upper class white woman who lectures and browbeats normal Americans with her shrewish and obnoxious words and views.  But in about a year Liz will be booted out of the House of Representatives and sent back to her family.  Hopefully they will grow so tired of having her around that they’ll put her in charge of something completely unimportant that will take up all of her time.  Possibly she can become the crossing guard at a corner that no one ever walks by.  I can see her with her hand held stop and go sign and here reflective uniform and her whistle.  She can jump up and down and screech at motorists and force them to stop whenever a squirrel or turtle wants to cross the road.  It would be her highest and best use in society.  Eventually some sleepy truck driver will accidentally run her over while she attempts to warn him off some crow picking at road kill on her corner.  And so she would attain martyrdom.  Saint Liz the Patron Saint of Scolds, Banshees and Karens.

But hopefully it will also be the day when we lose a whole company of RINOs.  There are something like twenty of them that self-identified by voting for impeachment this year after Donald Trump was out of office.  And there are enough other dolts who have proven their untrustworthy nature during all the COVID and George Floyd madness to bring their cases to the attention of voters next year.  And hopefully based on the recent polling there will be a very good sized company of Democrats who will also be joining them in the unemployment line too.

All in all next Election Day should be something of a celebration for the country.  Maybe we can call it Schadenfreude Day, or to make it sound a little more American, Comeuppance Day.  But whatever we do or don’t bother to call it, it will be a day when hopefully we take the first step toward ridding ourselves of the phonies who claim to be on “our side.”  Liz Cheney has no business representing real Americans.  She’s a phony from the the get go and if she wants to represent anyone let her get residency in New York City or San Francisco and represent the phonies and weirdos who live there.  Of course, because she’s a “Republican” they won’t have her.  Even she isn’t crazy enough for their liking but let her deal with that, not us.  I’d prefer the crazies that actually belong on our side.  We can work our way through them to find the few good people around like Ron DeSantis.  The last thing we need is to get a Jeb Bush or a Mitt Romney foisted on us as our supposed presidential candidate.

So I’m looking forward to Comeuppance Day. Now of course Liz will already have been eliminated during the primary election well before the general election day.  But I want to celebrate all the losses, both RINO and Dem on the same day so I’ll have to practice delayed gratification to make it a much more meaningful celebration.

I figure I’ll celebrate with corned beef and pastrami sandwiches and later on some pie and ice cream with good coffee.  Hopefully there will be a Youtube video that includes all my favorites wailing about their losses.  Boy I love being mean.

When Satan Whines Something Good Happened

There have been countless articles on our side trumpeting the awful prospects the Dems face in 2022.  But it’s when they tell themselves that you know just how bad it is.  At the end he tries to come up with a scenario where the reconciliation bill gets done and inflation disappears and the supply chain problems heal themselves and, and and.  There’s nothing like a nice dollop of schadenfreude right before a wonderful family feast to put a smile on  my face.

Poll Results: Biden Sucks

A Suffolk poll gives Dementia Joe a 38%/59% favorable to unfavorable ratio on job approval.

And that’s the good news.  From there it gets worse.

  • Nearly half of those surveyed, 46%, say Biden has done a worse job as president than they expected, including 16% of those who voted for him. Independents, by 7-1 (44%-6%), say he’s done worse, not better, than they expected.
  • Nearly two-thirds of Americans, 64%, say they don’t want Biden to run for a second term in 2024. That includes 28% of Democrats. Opposition to Trump running for another term in 2024 stands  at 58%, including 24% of Republicans.
  • Vice President Kamala Harris’ approval rating is 28% – even worse than Biden’s. The poll shows that 51% disapprove of the job she’s doing. One in 5, 21%, are undecided.

And of course everyone hates the Congress even more than the president but the surprising result is they hate the congressional Democrats significantly more than the congressional Republicans:

In the poll, Congress gets dismal ratings: 12% approve, 75% disapprove. Congressional Democrats have a 29% favorable rating; congressional Republicans 35%.

 

And that means the 2022 elections will be a bloodbath for the Dems:

If the election were today, those surveyed say, they would vote for their Republican congressional candidate over the Democratic one by 46%-38%, an advantage that would bode well for GOP hopes of gaining a majority in the House and the Senate.

 

So this poll has something for everyone who hates the Left.  Enjoy.

Will 2022 Do Anything Substantive to Fix Our Government?

A year from now every congressman and a third of the senators will be up for re-election.  Also, a bunch of governors, attorneys general and state legislatures will be voted on too.  Based on the current horror show that Biden has concocted it seems pretty certain that the Democrats will lose at least the House and very probably the Senate too.  Now that’s a pretty good thing.  It would block any new radical legislation that Dementia Joe’s handlers have in mind.  It would block any Supreme Court justices that were as bad as Merrick Garland would have been.  It would limit the damage to executive orders that can be reversed.

But we’ve been down this road so many times before.  1994, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2010, 2016.  Every time we get some remarkable success in capturing or holding the Congress or the Presidency or both we just end up at best treading water or more likely losing ground.  So, the question I’m asking is will this time be any different?  And the answer is no.  Unless they’re willing to take drastic measures.

To my way of thinking the best path forward would be the following.  In 2022 and 2024 the Republicans should do whatever they can to win back the Congress and the Presidency.  That will require the swing states to clean up their voter fraud problem.  That is absolutely necessary.  They should also shore up as many state governments as they can control.  Then in 2025 the President and the Congress need to clean out the intelligence agencies of as much of the cabal as they can find.  Fire everyone who participated in the 2016 coup.  Likewise, they need to clear out the military of all the mutinous officers’ corps starting with General Milley.  Then they need to pass as much legislation as they can to dismantle the surveillance state starting with repealing the Patriot Act.  Of course, they’ll have to eliminate the filibuster but this will be a one-shot deal anyway.  Then while the Republicans have control of Washington, they need to pass a law that allows states to peacefully secede from the United States.  At that point we can divvy up the armed forces and the nuclear arsenal and settle the currency issues and say goodbye.  We’ll even donate John Roberts to the Blue States for their very own all progressive Supreme Court.

Of course, this sounds like a pipe dream but the beauty of it is that each step is legal, doable and leads to a state that can’t be undone in the next election cycle.  Of course, when I say doable, I mean that it can be done by competent and dedicated men.  Cleaning out the intel agencies and the armed forces will take people familiar with how these agencies work and the courage to challenge powerful and dangerous individuals.  Donald Trump wasn’t able to do that.  Whoever takes the White House away from the Democrats next is going to have to be ready to dismantle the Deep State or else he will fail the same as every other Republican before him.
