A Sense of Loss

“I can imagine what can be, unburdened by what has been.”  “Cannibals ate my Uncle Bosie.”

We all will feel a real sense of loss when Joe and Kamala move onto the next chapters of their lives.  Well, Kamala will anyway.  There is no next chapter of Joe’s life.  There may not be a next paragraph or even sentence.  If Biden shows up at the Inauguration, I hope someone will have had the foresight to bring along a body bag and some absorbent material; kitty litter or paper towels or something.

But we will be losing a lot.  I can remember in 2021 and 2022 when things were truly awful with COVID and the restrictions around it.  It was only Joe’s struggles with gravity that gave me the will to go on.  And what about Kamala’s pronouncements about yellow school buses and Venn diagrams?  It was only this level of idiocy that gave me the hope that even the American public would back away from the edge of the Abyss and send these two boobs packing in 2024.  Sure, it was thin gruel to keep us going for three and a half years but it was all we had.

And it worked!  In July when I watched Joe Biden in the debate it was like the clouds parting and the sun blazing out at me.  It was the promise of all those gaffes, flubs and pratfalls coming home to roost for the Democrats.  And it was not only that.  It was this fumbling, bumbling, inarticulate, incoherent dementia patient juxtapositioned against all the sound bites of politicians and reporters and talking heads like Morning Joe swearing on a stack of bibles that Jumping Joe Biden was “as sharp as a tack,” that “this version of Biden … is the best Biden ever.”  It was Christmas in July.  The horror and panic that descended on Washington and Hollywood and New York was hilarious.  And the more the Left begged Biden to drop out the more he doubled down.  The interview he did with Stephanopoulos was remarkable.  You could see the pain on Stephanopoulos’s face as he tried his best to put the dots together for Biden on how hopeless his chances were.

And finally, when Pelosi and her hatchet-men had delivered some doomsday ultimatum to Biden to force him out of the race, imagine the horror the campaign faced when they evaluated how they could package and sell Kamala.  Their first idea was the best; don’t let her say anything except, “joy.”  They used that for about a month, that and whatever versions of it they could frame.  I guess the most embarrassing was Kamala is “brat.”  But eventually they had to let her talk and that would eventually remind voters that presidents have to be able to speak and by extension, think.  And of course that is Kamala’s weak point.  Well, it’s one of them.  She’s also unlikeable and, perhaps worse, she’s incandescently inauthentic.  Everything she says comes across as an absurd lie that everyone can see through.

And so, the Left went from Biden to Harris.  Scylla to Charybdis.  Bad to worse.  Dumb and dumber.  I can only imagine the horror of the campaign team.  There must have been an ocean of booze imbibed during the campaign to keep the staff from bolting for the exits.  And the Democrat voters told themselves so many lies and so many contrasting versions of the truth, that it must have been like some kind of self-inflicted brainwashing protocol.  Yesterday, Biden is a super genius.  Today he’s a doddering moron and Harris is a political dynamo and a lock for the win. Tomorrow they’re praying for the Never-Trumpers like Liz Cheney to save them from a razor thin margin.  And then the morning after, it’s a wipeout and she never had a chance.  And thus, was spawned a thousand TikTok videos of angry women screaming at their phones about fascism, the 4B Movement and never going to Thanksgiving ever again.  Oh, so wonderful, oh so painful.

Well, we won’t have Joe Biden to kick around anymore.  I doubt anyone will even attend his funeral.  And Kamala will return to California where she hopes to become governor.  I kind of doubt it will happen.  If nothing else this campaign has made a lasting impression on everyone about just how stupid this woman is.  Maybe she can be mayor of San Francisco for life.  Those people have so much white guilt that setting up Kamala as a figurehead leader would make sense to them.  But that’s about as far as she’ll go.

So that’s it.  No more Joe.  No more Kamala.  When will we see their like again?  Never!

It gives me a feeling of emptiness, of loss.  We need a new leader for the Left.  Will Obama or Michelle fill the gap?  I kind of doubt it.  Well, we’ll have to wait and see.  Goodbye Uncle Bosie.  It was fun.

Next Stop, 2025

Where are we headed?  And by we, I mean the non-leftists in this country.  I’m not saying “conservatives” because according to many people on the Right, there is no such thing as conservative.  And I don’t need to fight that war of words.  It doesn’t matter what label we end up with.  I can define myself by what I’m not.  I’m not a progressive.  I think the traditional definitions of things are sufficient to describe the world.  I think the traditional institutions like marriage, family and nation are valid and sufficient for people to live their lives in a meaningful way.

I also like the “rights” that were spelled out in the United States Constitution two-hundred-some-odd-years ago.  I like the idea of having freedom of speech, religion, self-defense, and to live my life as I choose as long as I don’t try to tell you how to live.  And to associate with people that agree with me on how to live.  All that seems very desirable to me.  And it seems quite believable that it can be maintained as it was in the early years of the republic.

This month by some incalculable miracle Donald Trump won re-election.  It’s as improbable to me as that Space-X booster that was falling out of the sky and then in one graceful arc lands in the cradle like an egg that a cook places in an egg cup.  It’s inconceivable.  But it happened and I guess there is an equally unlikely chance that Trump succeeds in doing all the things he’s said he will do.  Basically, he’s sworn to fix the country and make it great again.  And by great I think he means free and prosperous.

Well, I guess after his Houdini act, I should give him the benefit of the doubt and let him try to fix America.  If he does then the answer to my original question, “Where are we headed?” is easy.  We’re going back to the heaven on Earth that was this country a hundred years ago.  Now I’m sure the folks on the far-right will remind me that we’re not the same people we were back then, what with demographic change and women voting and all that jazz.  And they’re right.  We are different.  Whatever changes in culture and demographics have wrought won’t be erased.  Even the descendants of Old America have changed.  Their ancestors were religious people.  Their descendants are for the most part atheists or at least agnostics.  So, we have to acknowledge that.

My answer is that different people can play the same game and even though there will be differences in style and skill level if they play by the same rules, then basically it’s still the same game.  So, from my way of looking at things we’re most likely to get back mostly the same kind of country if we make everyone play by the original rules.  This I believe is known as civic nationalism.

Well, that’s a lot of ifs.  Trump is battling the most powerful accumulation of power since the Romans conquered the Mediterranean after knocking off the Carthaginians.  The Deep State and the vested interests that are their clients are the people Eisenhower called the military-industrial complex.  He warned us about them sixty-five years ago and they’ve only become more powerful over time.  They now also operate the surveillance state that knows everything we write, say or maybe even think.  They essentially control Silicon Valley because they are their paymasters.  They are not going to just roll over and play dead.

All this means there is a range of outcomes next year that runs the gamut from complete Trump failure to complete victory.  Of course, the most likely outcome is something in the middle where neither side totally wins or totally loses.  But Trump has earned the privilege of us watching and waiting to see what he can manage.  I don’t expect perfection.  I do expect him to make my life better and mercilessly torture his enemies and make their lives a living hell.  I think he owes that to himself and to me.

I want him to restore all of our rights under the Constitution including freedom of association.  And I want him to eliminate affirmative action from all aspects of American life.  If he does all that, he will be a success in my book.

I want to see a long line of FBI executives with cardboard boxes in their hands walking out of the J. Edgar Hoover Building with really sad faces.  I want NPR defunded.  I want the Education Department closed.  I want men in dresses drummed out of the military in great bunches.  I want everyone whose name is associated with Ukraine in the State Department unemployed.  I want all the prosecutors at the Department of Justice who spent their last four years prosecuting J6 fired.  I want the military budget for weapons systems halved and the VA fully funded.  I want Fauci prosecuted and all his co-conspirators rounded up.  I want a true analysis of the “safety and efficacy of the COVID vaccines.  I want Trump to declare martial law at the borders and refuse to let anyone in without a valid visa.  And if the visa cases become backlogged the candidates will wait outside the country for their turn.  And I want him to deport a million aliens a month.  And I want him to make the wall solid and equipped with drones that catch people climbing it and throw them back onto the outside.

And that’s the start of what I want.  I guess this is my Christmas list, Santa Trump.  Do the best you can.

Cenk Uygur Speaks Truth to Stupid

This is hilarious. Cenk Uygur is the voice of reason?  Well, compared to a fruit cake like presidential historian and pollster Allan Lichtman and his “13 keys” nonsense about picking presidential winners he is.  Cenk is a Bernie Bro.  But he’s a veritable Einstein compared to Lichtman.  At one point Lichtman accuses Uygur of blasphemy for mocking his keys!  It’s wonderful.  And it may be the exemplar for the whole election.  Blame the voters for being too stupid to see how great everything is under the Biden administration.  Inflation is great, illegal aliens are great, crime is great.  We just were smart enough to enjoy it.

Alright Then, Bald headed Women

Cat Ladies are scared.  They can’t tell who voted for Trump.  They say they want Kamala voters to wear a blue bracelet to identify them to each other.  And they want to shave their heads.  And they want to wear COVID masks.  Well, that’s a lot of stuff.  So, I guess there is potentially 48% of white women out there who might start walking around with shaved heads, surgical masks and blue bracelets.

I’ve gotta say, that’s a pretty horrendous situation.  Most of these blue-haired cat ladies aren’t the most attractive bunch.  As a group they’re also pretty grouchy to start with and now after the election they’re going on TikTok and Instagram and yelling a lot and threatening to stop having sex.  And that’s fine.  I don’t think anyone is going to insist they have sex.  In fact, for a lot of them it might be for the best.  I’m no expert on modern relationships but I think, for the most part, most men prefer women with hair.  And a lot of them prefer a woman who doesn’t hate men.  Maybe not all but a lot of them.

And even for us who don’t plan to have sex with random former-blue-haired bald women, we still have to see them walking around with their bald heads.  It’s not great.  I mean you get used to women having hair.  It’s going to be like some kind of dystopian science fiction story with these ugly bald women wearing masks and glaring at us without blue bracelets.  And do you think that the blue hair dye will end up dyeing their heads blue too?  I don’t think I could deal with that.  Bald blue-headed angry women wearing surgical masks.  It’s a bit much.

As a man with short hair I can say definitively that a shaved head makes living in the northeast more difficult.  As bald people well know the human body loses a lot of heat from the head and this is exacerbated by baldness.  I don’t know if these women are aware.  Maybe they’ll reconsider.  I’ll bet a lot of them don’t even have hats anymore.  Well, these particular women probably have those pink hats from their marches back in 2017.  I guess they could repurpose those to keep their bald heads warm in the winter.  That wouldn’t be so bad.  So maybe this won’t be so bad.  I wonder if we could persuade them to wear the hats indoors too.  We could compliment them on how nice the hats make them look.  You know compliment them, respectfully.  Not hit on them or anything.  Not enough to get them thinking about sex again.  Just enough to keep those hats on their big bald blue heads.

As I said, a lot of these women are very angry.  They keep talking about attacking and shooting Trump voters.  That’s not good.  I mean, who would want to be punched or shot by an angry bald-headed woman?  I know I don’t.  It would be embarrassing to admit.

Maybe I should get me one of those blue bracelets.  How much could it cost; five, six bucks?  Of course, if it’s a lot more maybe I can make on out of blue electrical wire.  I’ll go to Home Depot and buy a spool of it and braid it into a bracelet.  Well, that sounds like a plan.

Honestly, we live in difficult times.  Just when you think that you’ve conquered the worst problems something new comes along.  Like nose rings.  I was always freaked out when I saw people, especially women with nose rings.  I always wondered if when their nose was running did it drip down the nose ring?  And then I thought maybe that was a workable situation.  When they had a cold, they could attach a length of tubing to the bottom of the nose ring and let the snot run off into a bottle or something.  I thought of patenting this idea but then I figured some nose ring wearer probably already thought of it.  So, I didn’t.

Well, the world marches on.  Alright then, bald headed women.

Daydream Believer

I was working on the outline for my book and I need to add about 50,000 words to the present length.  Luckily, I have a “women and children in danger” scenario that hasn’t even been started yet so there’s 25,000 words right there.  But the other thing I thought of has to do with the wrap up of the story.  Our heroes have survived a direct nuclear attack by the crazed, cowardly POTUS and have retaliated by physically undermining the headquarters of all the centers of power in Washington (White House, Capitol, Pentagon and all the HQ buildings of the security agencies including their data storage infrastructure nationwide). Basically, everyone in those building fall hundreds of feet to their death underground.  In addition, the good guys manage to tunnel under and hijack a bunch of ICBMs out of their silos thus preventing potential future retaliation.

So, the wrap-up has to be a conference between our heroes (or their representatives) with the federal and state leaders about a modus vivendi that will prevent any more bloodshed and allow for more permanent arrangements to be negotiated.  And the demand that the negotiators would make would be for all the rights that the Bill of Rights guaranteed them be restored without question or exception forever.  Now that could easily chew up 30,000 words.

While I was thinking about that, it got me thinking about reality.  Like, what would be the best outcome of Trump decapitating the Deep State and neutering all of the agencies that make our lives miserable?  Obviously, it would be for him to invite the Supreme Court to rule against all of the affirmative action and other unconstitutional mandates that strip away our rights and then use the Supreme Court’s decision to shut down all of the agencies and departments that spend all their time making these regulations.

Can you imagine if all the federal employees who monitor and threaten corporations to hire more girl bosses suddenly had no permission to do such things?  And then extend that to all of the other protected classes.  Imagine if a company could just hire who they wanted to based on nothing more than the fact that they considered someone the best choice?  Why that would be revolutionary.  And imagine if all the corporations could close down their HR departments and allow managers to hire their employees themselves?  Think of all the unemployed blue-haired cat ladies!  Think of the end of HR sponsored struggle sessions around gay pride week and rainbow flag decorations.  No more new acronyms like LGBTQIA and BiPOC and DEI and no more seminars on toxic masculinity, white privilege and hate speech.  And no more stupid slogans like “diversity is our strength.”  From now on everyone doing their damn jobs is our strength.

And after thinking about that I was sitting there with this stupid smile on my face for like five minutes.  And, of course, I knew it was just a ridiculous pipe dream.  But what a beautiful dream it was.  And really, it was completely within the bounds of what the Supreme Court could do.  And it was completely within the authority of what the President could do to respond to just such a Supreme Court decision.

It was completely logical and also completely impossible.  But it was the most beautiful dream I’ve had in a while.  It reminded me of a dream I had a few months ago where I imagined Donald Trump winning the 2024 election with a mandate and a congressional majority behind him.  It was dream like that.

2024 Election Follies – The Recap

Today was the first weekly zoom call I had with my work buddies since the election.  It goes without saying that high spirits and hilarity were the order of the day.  We compared the high we were getting from watching the compilation videos of despairing Kamala voters to the 2016 Hillary scream fests.  I think we agreed that the 2016 psychos were probably funnier but since we are more grateful in 2024 it was basically a wash.

We talked about some of the Trump cabinet picks and agreed that the panic and despair we had heard about inside the Deep State was a very good sign.  There was much schadenfreude expressed.

We compared notes on how things were going in our lives outside of politics and everyone seems excited about Thanksgiving this year.  Then we traded stories on “the Company” and how awful and woke it had become and how the stock price had dipped.  But even that hadn’t dampened our enthusiasm for the future.

I regaled them with stories about the elections here in Dunwich and they told me about the follies in their communities.  All very familiar.  One of the guys is an Indian American who used to be a Democrat.  So, we gave him a bunch of grief about how his relatives will now consider him a traitor for voting for Trump.  He told us the rationale that he uses to justify himself to his parents and other relatives and we hooted at how lame it all sounded.  We told him that as our official token POC and Indian American he must take all the blame for Trump winning and he must apologize to Kamala face to face.  He proceeded to say some very rude things in his best subcontinent English and that was that.

I had hoped this week would be a calm after the storm.  But commitments piled up and my first real breather doesn’t come until Thursday afternoon (I hope).  But from that point it should be clear sailing.  The last two years have been a kind of great experiment getting involved in elections and politics.  I’ve learned how it all works and now I know what is likely and what is unlikely with respect to election fraud.  What seems clearest is that mailing out absentee ballots and allowing “voters” to access ballot drop boxes is the weak link in election integrity.

There are well-documented cases of individuals stuffing drop boxes with dozens and even hundreds of ballots.  This is completely illegal and also extremely hard to prevent.  Other irregularities weren’t part of my experience.  I suppose if the ballot tabulators in some jurisdictions do not use paper ballots and are connected directly to the internet that any kind of skullduggery is possible.  I have to assume that any reasonably intelligent person would know that.  What happens going forward will depend completely on the state government in power.  Places like California and New England will allow whatever irregularities they deem helpful to the Democrats.  Hopefully, the red states will protect themselves from voter fraud and election fraud.  But many of the cities are run by Democrats and the state government will have to provide oversight to protect against it.  So, my great experiment has been somewhat successful.  Now how do I separate myself from this quite onerous responsibility?  Well, we’ll see.  The First Selectman doesn’t like to be disappointed.  To be continued.

A Miracle

I have talked about several cases of a hopeless leftist feminist having a moment of clarity.  Well, here’s another one.

Maureen Dowd is a psychotic feminist harpy.  But something has finally snapped.  Here are some of the money quotes:

“Some Democrats are finally waking up and realizing that woke is broke.

“Donald Trump won a majority of white women and remarkable numbers of black and Latino voters and young men.”

“Democratic insiders thought people would vote for Kamala Harris, even if they didn’t like her, to get rid of Trump. But more people ended up voting for Trump, even though many didn’t like him, because they liked the Democratic Party less.”

“On CNN, Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky said that Democrats did not know how to talk to normal Americans.

Addressing Latinos as “Latinx” to be politically correct “makes them think that we don’t even live on the same planet as they do,” she said.”

“Democratic candidates have often been avatars of elitism – Michael Dukakis, Al Gore, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and second-term Barack Obama. The party embraced a worldview of hyper-political correctness, condescension and cancellation”

Even a year ago this feminist shrew wouldn’t have dreamed of talking in honest terms about the hypocrisy and stupidity that passes for leftist orthodoxy.  But today she can.  The Democrat party is in disarray.  This proves it:

“Seth Moulton, a Democratic member of the House of Representatives (from Massachusetts!), said the party needs rebranding. “Democrats spend way too much time trying not to offend anyone,” he said. “I have two little girls. I don’t want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat I’m supposed to be afraid to say that.””

Even a week ago that would have been called hate speech and Moulton would have been raked over the coals for being a transphobe.  But now Democrat voters are waking up to the fact that more than half the country doesn’t believe in their wacked out leftist nonsense.  And far from disqualifying them from being heard, it has qualified them to pick the next President of the United States.  And that won’t be Kamala Harris.

So, Dowd is starting to have rational thoughts well-up from her psyche.  Could she make it all the way back to sanity?  Will this cause her to lose her job at the New York Times?  Does this presage a larger movement of leftists coming to their senses and gravitating back to rational thought?

Only time will tell.  But it does give at least some hope that reality can penetrate into the woke hive mind.  Maybe a few of the less addled drones can be saved from the programming and return to normalcy.  Well, it was fun to even imagine for a second these crazed individuals coming to their senses.  Imagine if one of these crazy blue-haired cat ladies with a nose ring who go off on a rant about withholding sex from conservative men suddenly had a moment of lucidity and realized that if she just lost fifty pounds and ditched the nose ring and let her hair go back to its normal color, she could maybe get a date with a normal guy and maybe start enjoying life again.

Now wouldn’t that be a miracle.

Update:

Hat Tip to Master Diver for the link on Day by Day.  And welcome to all the folks coming over from there!

Hey Christopher Wray, Brace Yourself

So what’s likely to happen to an agency of the federal government if it harasses and persecutes a presidential candidate and then he wins the presidency?

Well, if that agency is the FBI and that candidate is Donald Trump I’m guessing there are going to be an awful lot of unemployed FBI big-wigs.

And it couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of guys.

“The Washington Times learned through several anonymous bureau sources that senior executives who run the agency were “stunned” and “shell-shocked” by Mr. Trump’s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.”

And besides the personal animus of the incoming president there is fear that a general purge of the department is possible:

“Additionally, many on the 7th floor of the FBI are concerned about billionaire tech executive Elon Musk, owner of X and Tesla, being brought into the Trump administration as head of a government efficiency commission.

“When he tries to do efficiency at headquarters, the place is going to have five people … if he’s talking about a lot of dead weight,” a second FBI source said.”

Well, they say what goes around comes around and I couldn’t be happier.  If he doesn’t shut the whole place down I hope he gets Congress to neuter them so they can never threaten the freedoms of the American people again.

I only wish prosecutions of Wray and Garland were likely.  I hate those crooked bastards for what they did to a lot of innocent people on January 6th.
