We’re All Rooting for You

The snow is falling pretty fast here in Dunwich.  It’s starting to cover the ice over the swamp and pretty soon it will force the lycanthropes back into their caves along the bases of the hills.  And that will quiet the howling that kept me up last week.  It’s always annoying when the moon is full.  Between the howling and the scratching at the door and the screaming of the stranded motorists who get eaten alive while walking down the road for help it’s a real pain.  I mean come on, have some consideration for other people.  Either be eaten alive in stoic silence or bring a revolver loaded with silver bullets.  It’s not that complicated.  Read the town ordinances.  Your survivors are going to be fined for the after-hours noise violation so use your head.

Trump says he is going to un-classify and reveal the remaining records from the Kennedy (JFK and RFK) and King assassinations.  Now that’s pretty great.  People have been teasing these things for scores of years.  Of course, I’m not assuming that the records are the truth.  Probably they don’t say anything definitive about anything.  But the veil of secrecy has been used like some magic spell to keep us wondering what the people in the know don’t want us to know since we were kids.  At this point I doubt we’ll ever know what actually happened but at least they can stop acting like we’re peons who can’t be trusted with the higher mysteries of the cult.  But right now, I am excited to hope maybe there are names like Castro or Khruschev or the CIA or the Mob.  That would be like a Tom Clancey novel instead of that nit-wit Oswald.

It’s funny.  A month ago, if you asked me whether I thought I’d be excited about Trump’s inauguration I’d’ve said absolutely not.  But I’m surprised to say that’s not the case.  I am looking forward to it and excited about the prospect of someone on my side taking over and beginning the daunting task of chopping away at the roots of the monster that ate the United States.  I just read today that this year Argentina had its first budget surplus in fourteen years.  Wouldn’t it be a miracle if Trump could make that happen in 2026?

And maybe tomorrow he’ll hand out pardons to the J6 prisoners.  That would breathe life into the base and bring tears to the eyes of Garland and his stooges.  And while he’s at it he should use an executive order to provide recompense and apologies to anyone the US government punished for not getting a COVID shot.  Now that’s overdue.

But before anything else, give Kash Patel the keys to the J Edgar Hoover Building and have him begin the process of emptying the offices of all the creeps and thugs that the FBI employed over the last twenty-five years to spy on and persecute American citizens.  And he should quickly cancel all their passwords and clearance ratings so that they can never again cause us harm.  And while he’s at it put a blanket hold on FISA warrant requests and stop spying on Americans altogether.  That would really start the new administration on a patriotic foot.  That would really be a change for the better.

And if he really wants to release records that need de-classifying let him de-classify the records of the operations that targeted Americans; including the Russia collusion hoax.  Name names and appoint special counsels.  Put those guys in jail.  If need be, have the trials far away from Washington.  Maybe a small town in Florida or Texas.  They’re Americans too, I think.  They can provide the jury of twelve men and true, I believe.

Well, I’m letting myself run away with things but as I said I’m more excited about all this than I thought I’d be.  Good luck Donald Trump.  We’re all rooting for you.

Even If You Are from Queens

At long last the abysmal presidency of zombie Joe Biden is finally about to end.  His re-animated corpse has been submerged in a large bottle of formaldehyde and all the pardons have been printed out and prepared for publication.  And now that they’re making up constitutional amendments out of whole cloth maybe we’ll find out that cats have been given citizenship just so the blue-haired crazy women will have another victory to embrace.

But the imminent departure of Biden has me considering the Trump phenomenon.  Even David Brooks had to grudgingly admit that “Trump is the most consequential politician since Reagan.”  And he means that negatively in that the American people have chosen Trump for the things that Brooks thinks are faults.  Well, what can you expect from David Brooks?

And you know, for most people the idea of Trump being part of our political world only began with 2016.  But I remember when Trump was trying to involve himself in politics as a young man in New York City.  It was back in the mid-eighties and New York was, as usual, broke and the skating rink in Central Park had completely disintegrated through neglect and there was no money in the budget to fix it.  Ed Koch was mayor and he was trying to spin some plan for Albany to pay for it but they wouldn’t bite.  Now this was about the time the city was going into another decline.  Violence was starting to resurface after a lull in the early eighties.  I think that maybe Trump was thinking of running for mayor or something.  Well, he volunteered to rebuild the rink and pay for it himself.  And he did, under budget and on schedule.  But New York City had not yet hit bottom.  It wasn’t ready for a Republican.  That would happen after New York’s first black mayor, David Dinkins unleashed anarchy on the streets of New York.  And that proved to be Rudy Giuliani’s time to fix the city.  But he had a lawman’s background as a prosecutor.  And he knew that the police would be the key to saving New York City.  So, Donald Trump retreated to his business and his entertainment projects.

But thirty years later he decided that if someone as talentless as Barack Obama could be president for eight years then he could easily figure out the ropes himself and get something done for America.  And he did.  But why?

I think I understand a little bit what motivates him.  He’s a twentieth century New York City American.  I also am one.  Of course he came from money.  But not old money.  His ancestors and mine came to the United States at about the same time.  He and I lived in New York City at the same time.  Of course, I came from the more interesting borough of Brooklyn and he came from Queens which as far as I’m concerned is more like part of Long Island but whatever, we both were part of twentieth century New York City which was the heart of twentieth century America.  And we both watched it degraded from the capitol of the world to a dirty, poor, crime-ridden refugee camp.  So, I think I know what he means when he talks about making America great again.  He’s talking about restoring the people and the ethos that catapulted the United States to the status it had in 1945.

He wants to make a deal with the descendants of the people who fought World War II.  If they’ll vote for him, he’ll save their grandchildren from the globalists who want to replace them with the third world.  It’s really a pretty simple concept.  Now I don’t know if he simply feels kinship with these people or if he sees an opportunity to capitalize on an underutilized resource (us).  Either way it’s the best deal we’ll ever get.  And at the same time, it’s a kick in the teeth for the Left and for the Bushes and Romneys.  Win, win.

So, thank you Donald Trump.  As an old neighbor of yours I salute you for lending a hand.  Even if you are from Queens.

Controlled Burn

I was thinking about the second Trump administration as you know.  I asked folks what they thought would happen and they gave some feedback (thank you).  And folks have some confidence from what I can tell, that Trump will probably get some stuff done.  Maybe he’ll purge the FBI and Justice Department of the die-hard Democrat partisans.  And maybe he’ll reform some of the policies and rules at some of the other agencies like the IRS, ATF, EPA and the DOD.  Good.

But what happens going forward?  Is it possible to “fix” a giant bureaucracy permanently?  I think we all have to agree you can’t.  The closest to that that can be achieved is specifying a procedure to prune the bureaucracy on a regular schedule.

One idea I read of that makes a lot of sense is to separate the bureaucracy into two buckets.  In one bucket is stuff that is permanently necessary like the Post Office (?) and the military.  For these things that have easily defined scope, normal control methods can be used to keep their size in check.  For everything else, their charters from Congress include sunset provisions such that if they need to be extended the Congress has to explain exactly why and exactly how much money they will need to continue.  And then Congress will have to approve this reauthorization and the president will have to sign it.

I think there may be a state that handles their bureaucracy this way.  I think it’s a brilliant idea.  I mean, who really believes that 80% of the workers and the rules being made are necessary?  Even necessary agencies like the Defense Department are oceans of waste and corruption.

And for that reason, I see the value in having people from the private sector looking at the “books” and recommending cuts and changes to this empire of waste.  I know it’s probably mostly a pipe dream but I get a little giddy thinking about what could be done if an honest auditor looked at the government from an efficiency perspective and took a chainsaw to the federal government.  How many billions of dollars could be eliminated in salaries and contractors’ fees?  It staggers the imagination.  Look at the damage that California’s local environmental protection agency just caused because of their ridiculous regulations banning controlled burning.  Because of their insane laws some of the richest and most beautiful neighborhoods in Los Angeles were torched to the ground at the cost of hundreds of billions of dollars of real estate.  Imagine the gains if the federal EPA were evaluated regularly and pared down to only the functions that need to exist.  Land owners and communities would regain millions of hours a year that go into the endless paperwork needed to propitiate the stupid acolytes of the idiot goddess Gaia.

So, it seems clear to me that trimming the federal bureaucracy is a permanent part of every administration’s workload.   And this should be one of the selling points that Republicans use to justify hiring them every four years.  And the way to sell this is to publish the fact that they reduce the federal budget and the debt every four years.  Just like a CEO has to publish the annual report to declare how much the company made in profits or losses the president of the United States should have to give a shareholders meeting to all of us telling us whether he shrank or grew the budget and the debt.

Trump is a businessman of sorts.  His is not a public corporation so mostly he’s responsible to himself but he knows the realities of a balance sheet and how awful the United States’ balance sheet currently looks.  What he needs to do is teach the voters that they are small shareholders in a runaway corporation that is hemorrhaging money into the ground and the president is the CEO who has to justify his leadership every four years.

I’m really hoping that buying Greenland isn’t his first order of business.  I hope a controlled burn of about 80% of the FBI (and the rest of the dead wood) is.

OCF 2025 Inaugural Polls

So, I’ve been talking for a few months about Trump’s new term.  But it occurred to me that it would be interesting (to me) to find out what other folks think.  I’ve decided on two questions to poll.

  1. What do you most want to see happen?
  2. What do you expect to happen

How Will We Know?

So, we’ve had a lot of fun.  Since November 5th most people on our side have had a real holiday from grief.  We got to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas buoyed by the knowledge that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been relegated to the ash heap of history.  What a wonderful phrase that is.  What an image.  There’s this enormous pile of cinders and burnt garbage and jumbled among these things are Joe Biden and Kamala Harris laying there covered with debris and looking extremely sad and confused.  So evocative of a better world!

But it’s best not to forget that this victory is just the beginning of a very long and difficult struggle to wrest control of the federal government from the horde of awful bureaucrats that make everything about our government expensive, inefficient and destructive.  It will be up to Trump’s cabinet to force a monkey wrench into the gears of government and wreck it.  And the question remains; will they do it?

I get the impression that Kash Patel really means to do just that.  And the fact that he was a prosecutor leads me to believe that he might have a good idea how to accomplish his goal of disemboweling the FBI.  I think of his tenure as the test case.  How long will it take for him to get going on the job?  And how long will it take before someone like me can tell that it’s working?  I’m guessing I’ll be able to tell if he’s having the desired effect if the New York Times and NPR are screaming that he’s destroying the FBI.

Maybe a bigger fish to fry is the purview of the Secretary of Defense.  Assuming Pete Hegseth is approved by the Senate he’s going to have an enormous job clearing out all the woke generals and other officers that Biden and Obama plunked down in the military.  But almost as important will be his implementation of Trump’s plan to end the Ukraine war.  I assume it’s going to be necessary for Hegseth to micromanage the defense department personnel to prevent them from continuing to supply the Ukrainians with endless weapons and money to keep the killing going until the last Ukrainian is dead.  He’s going to have to replace the existing supply chain personnel with people loyal to himself.  That’s going to take some doing.  There’s an enormous amount of money that gets distributed from the billions that go to Ukraine.  Shutting off that spigot is going to anger hordes of people and it might even trigger violence.  Hegseth will have his hands full.  I guess I’ll know that Hegseth is succeeding if the number of Ukrainians being killed falls drastically.  Probably the best indicator will be peace negotiations breaking out between Ukraine and Russia.

And finally Trump himself has a big part to play.  He has to get involved in the negotiations on the budget.  What I’m secretly craving is to hear that he’s managed to slip into the budget the elimination of the funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.  If this could be eliminated it would put an enormous hole in the funding for PBS and NPR.  The elimination of those two toxic waste sites would in one fell swoop elevate the public discourse in this country immensely.  Think of it.  I might never see Jonathan Capehart’s homely face ever again.  For that alone I would consider Donald Trump’s second term in the White House a thunderous success.

How Sweet It Is

I watched a few video clips today.  There were a few highlights.  Justin Trudeau did his sad face and said he will resign his office as PM in March.  Oh, boo, hoo.  Very sad, too bad.

And then I saw that sideshow with a smiling Kamala next to Speaker Johnson as she read out the numbers on her Electoral College loss to Donald Trump in the November election.  Yay, Kamala!  You go girl!  Brat Summer Kamala, woo hoo!  That’s the fun way to imagine a future of winning unencumbered by pathetic present-day failure.

So that’s the four-year anniversary of J6.  Well, that’s a pretty good day.  I guess it could have been better.  Maybe Joe Biden wandering into a jet engine or off a parapet.  But it will definitely do.  So that will be the last of J6 for the rest of eternity.  Well, not quite.  We can expect some Congressional investigations that may end up in Kash Patel’s lap to prosecute.  But that’s a story for another day.  Let’s just say there won’t be any more anniversaries on the news.

When I think about what the next few months will be like I’m guessing most of what we’ll see will be the Senate cabinet approval hearings.  And the captured media will broadcast the likes of Adam Schiff, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer grandstanding rumors and slander against all of the Trump nominees.  That’s only to be expected.

But it makes me wonder what kind of strategy is being formulated by the principals in meetings with Trump right now.  After all, time is short and there’s a lot to do.  Hopefully they’ve long ago assembled long lists of government employees based on either actual crime against the American people or responsibility for divisions or areas of the bureaucracy where crimes were committed.

As an example, if I were Kash Patel I’d search out the documents that declared that white men made up the most dangerous terrorist threat to the United States and get all the names associated with that decision.  Then these people could be brought into the Senate and made to testify.  And they would have to provide some factual basis for these pronouncements.  Of course, at the end of the whole thing they’d be fired for sure.  But toying with them would be fun.  It would be sort of like the show trials that Stalin and his boys used to put on in Moscow.  Who knows?  Some of them might even name names when tempted by the hope (false of course) of saving their jobs.  Maybe they’d give up Wray or Garland.  But either way it would be fun.

If Trump wanted to really increase his popularity, he could go back to his reality tv roots and set up a weekly program on X or Truth Social or wherever, on which he provided a running tally of how much money he had saved the US government by firing bureaucrats.  And he could highlight the show with a profile of some especially over-paid leech that also had caused some particularly egregious harm to the American public.  I want to nominate Rachel Levine as the stand out for week 1.  This eye sore has been a boil on the neck of this country ever since it was first announced he would be donning the skirt and wig as United States Assistant Secretary for Health in the Department of Health and Human Services.  And just to add insult to injury he is now an “admiral” somehow.

Trump could reuse his “You’re fired” tagline but instead of calling the show, “The Apprentice,” he could call it, “The Ejected.”  Maybe he can have a graphic that shows the victim being launched from his office chair and follow a trajectory that lands somewhere novel each week.  One day it could be into the ocean or maybe a shark tank, another time it could be one of those industrial scale wood chippers, the ones you can throw a whole redwood into.  Now of course no one would actually be harmed but think of how much fun it would be imagining it.

Well, as you can see, I’m letting my imagination get the best of me.  But that’s what it’s like before Trump takes office.  Later on, the reality of the constraints that government puts on the president will sink in.  But for now, it’s Rachel Levine in a trajectory headed for the moon.  How sweet it is!

Change to Get Behind

Greetings folks.  In 2025 the big news is corporations (and the federal government) will be bringing all their workers back to the office again.  I guess a five-year vacation is about enough.  With an actual president in charge, it seems like people will need to stop watching YouTube videos all day and start wearing pants again.  But not you Jeffrey Toobin.  That ship has sailed.

The new meme that’s out there coming from the Left is “Let’s forget the past and find common ground.”  Which translates to “We tried to destroy all of you and Trump but failed so how about we make believe we don’t hate you in exchange for you doing everything we tell you to do.”  It’s such a tempting offer.  It has almost everything, except us winning.  You see this from Democrat congressmen and senators.  They’ll tell you how nothing will be passed without their approval so the compromise position is Republicans let them dictate the acceptable legislation agenda.

I guess we’re about to find out if Johnson and Thune are any better than Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell were back in Trump’s first term.  It’s a cinch they can’t be any worse.  Luckily, I think Trump has learned a thing or two in the interim and he won’t let these turkeys screw things up like their predecessors.  In fact, maybe Trump intends to administer the government more or less by executive order.  If I were in his shoes, I think I would declare a national emergency and pay for the deportation by commandeering private resources like airliners and rail transportation to funnel these people into Mexico and let the Mexicans figure out how to get rid of them.

And I’m only half joking about how to handle the deportations.  I think a national emergency will allow him to sideline every local democrat judge who will attempt to block his every move.  Because it truly is a national emergency and whatever he has to do to fix this is justified and in the long run cost effective.  I can’t even imagine how many billions of dollars are currently spent on the feeding, housing, medical care and judicial costs for these tens of millions of illegal aliens.

But this is just me talking.  Does Donald Trump have a plan that will accomplish the things he says he will do and does he have the nerve to follow through on those plans in the face of relentless opposition from the Democrats in congress, in the courts and all of the deep state personnel who will do everything imaginable to prevent this from happening?

I think Trump should stage the deportation process to allow himself as much cover as possible.  He should start by deporting all the serious criminals; the felons and the gang members.  Practicing on this soft target will deflect a lot of the outrage and at the same time give him a chance to find all of the pitfalls and roadblocks that exist.  Also, he can use them as the worst case for what he can expect from the home countries of the aliens.  One of the Central American countries (can’t remember if it’s Honduras or Guatemala) has already stated that they will retaliate for their citizens being deported by evicting American troops from their country.

Well, it doesn’t sound like much of a threat.  After we finish transferring their criminals back home, we can then pack up our troops and send them home.  Win, win.

I guess, like everyone else, I’m anxious to see what Trump looks like in action.  I don’t expect miracles but I’m curious to see just how hard he punishes his enemies in the federal executive agencies.  Kash Patel will be the test case.  He’s on record as saying he wants to shut down the FBI building and turn it into a museum.  I hope he doesn’t.  I’d prefer he just empty out the building, one fired FBI agent at a time until it’s down to single digit occupancy.  Now that’s change I can get behind.

Speculations About a Leader

In a recent opinion piece Angelo Codevilla discussed how state enforced nullification of anti-constitutional federal laws and programs could act as the basis for a new federalism that allows conservatives to regain their freedoms without requiring a civil war.

In the article he stresses that it will take very strong leadership from someone to make something like this a reality.  Codevilla gives Charles De Gaulle as an example of a leader attempting to restore a nation.  And he stresses that the leader has to put the cause above his own personal concerns for glory or gain.  He must submerge his personality into the cause.  Codevilla wisely refuses to speculate about whether Donald Trump will be that leader.  But I’m not that wise and I want to at least discuss what the options will look like and how we’ll know when a leader has arrived.

First off, I want to remind everyone of one thing.  Prior to Donald Trump’s appearance on the scene none, and I mean none, of the so-called Republican leaders at the state or federal level did a damn thing about challenging the Left’s narrative about anything.  When it came to immigration, they kowtowed to the supposition that illegal immigrants should be made citizens and that unlimited illegal and legal immigration was a necessity and “the right thing to do.”  Good old JEB! Bush went so far to say that the crime of illegal immigration was “an act of love.”  And so, anyone who objected to it was a heartless monster who hated children and love.  It took Donald Trump to know that this con wasn’t actually believed by the American people.  And the establishment Republicans continued to denounce his “callous indifference” to criminal aliens all the way to his inauguration and beyond.  Eventually some of these NeverTrumpers woke up and realized they had better come up with a new con that included parroting the things that Trump had shown them.  But I ask you to think about this bit of history because many of those same people are once again presenting themselves to us as the future saviors of the conservative half of the United States.

Of course, we won’t be seeing JEB! or John Kasich or Carly Fiorina or Chris Christie anymore.  They are all done.  But expect Nikki Haley and Marco Rubio to be right there explaining how they’re ready to make America Great Again by only making twenty or thirty million illegal immigrants, citizens, at least in their first term anyway.  After that I’m sure a billion will seem like the right number.  My point here is that the GOP Establishment will never disappear.  They will always bounce back with whatever spin they think will allow them to perform their gatekeeping act and prevent anything from interfering with their “opponents” running the country off a cliff.

So, anyone who tells me that what we need is Trumpism without Trump is talking about something that has never been seen before in real life.  If anyone wants to assume the mantle either in opposition to Donald Trump’s run in 2024 or in his absence if he decides not to run, I say show me what you’ve got.  Prove to me you know what we want and then prove to me that you can and will do it.  And that’s a tall order.  Even Donald Trump was stymied in his desire to “drain the swamp.”  The swamp refused to be drained and he couldn’t change that.  If someone has a plan, we’ll need to know what it is and how he proposes to do it.  In fact, I’m not sure that a lot of us even think a President of the United States can do it alone.  It might take a `       coalition of red state governors with or without a Republican president to make any progress against the combined power of the Deep State and the Globalist Corporate Cabal that currently has us by the throat.

So, anyone who wants to be the new Trump has a lot of explaining to do.  I need to know what and how.  I want to see some evidence that he actually believes in the things he claims to stand for and I want to know who he plans to fire in the Justice Department and I want to know who will be his Attorney General.

And not to be too critical of how he handled an impossible job, if Donald Trump will be running again in 2024, I want to know what he will do this time to prevent the train wreck that the Justice Department caused for his administration.  I’ll want to know what policies he will champion and who in the legislature and who in the governorships he has allied himself with to make these things realities instead of lost causes.

It’s a very long time until 2024.  I would say that anyone who waits until then to start causing changes in the direction of this country is not a leader.  I like that Ron DeSantis is enacting legislature to protect Floridians from first amendment violations by Silicon Valley and unconstitutional federal laws.  I’d love to see him form a coalition with Texas and some of the other red states.  What I’d really like is for these measures to be challenged by the feds and then see a state governor and legislation refuse a federal court’s ruling against them.  I’d like to see them win a staring contest with Creepy Uncle Joe and win!  That’s when I’ll know that here is some leadership on the horizon.  Until then it’s just speculation.

My Early Christmas List to Santa Trump

Indulge me today in a little game.  I know that anything could happen after November 3rd up to and including the apocalypse.  But just for the sake of this post let’s assume that when the dust clears President Trump is clearly the winner of the election and the Republicans squeak out a win in the Senate and the House.  What would be my wish list for the coming four years of the second Trump administration.  Granted that this is the rosiest of scenarios but it is far from unlikely.  So, grant me the premise.

  • First and foremost, give Barr an ultimatum to either produce the reports of the investigations or resign. Either his staff has found crime committed by the Obama holdovers in the FBI and elsewhere or he has an explanation that covers all the outrages we have seen perpetrated over the last five years.  And regardless of whether Barr is the Attorney General or not it must be a priority to clear all the anti-Trump personnel out of the Justice Department.  Even if that depopulates the department it would be the smartest thing to do.  Reforming the FBI is an extremely important goal.  Defanging that agency would benefit everyone.  It is a weapon that can be brought to bear against any innocent American whenever political expediency calls for it.
  • Another priority is to punish those states that allowed Antifa and BLM to terrorize their citizens. What I would envision would be the feds initiating civil and criminal actions against the governors and mayors who were complicit in the protracted unrest that engulfed the lives of their citizens.  Testimony by all the individuals that feel they were harrowed and their lives disrupted and especially those that were assaulted or whose businesses were destroyed.  These are Americans who were treated like targets of a pogrom.  They were singled out based on the color of their skin.  The President should make it a point of pride to get them justice.  Those governors and mayors should be hounded out of office and prosecuted.
  • The President and Congress need to fully fund and swiftly build the Southern Wall. It is important and it is also a morale builder.  It shows the country that the government is taking their wishes seriously.  It’s what got President Trump elected in the first place.  It should not be forgotten.
  • The President needs to continue to appointing federal judges to all the circuit courts in the country as quickly as the openings occur. The power that a corrupt judiciary is able to wield is apparent from the outrageous actions of the federal judges who have hampered the President throughout his first term.  Eliminating the progressive majorities in the 9th Circuit Court and other progressive strongholds should be a priority for Republican presidents whenever the Senate is in their control.
  • The President needs to install an Attorney General who will employ the RICO statute to defund, prosecute and imprison the leadership and all guilty members of Antifa and BLM. The RICO laws were put in place to demolish the mafia.  Antifa and BLM are criminal organizations that have done incalculable harm in this country.  They need to be crushed.
  • The President needs to punish China for COVID and he needs to end the special relationship that has allowed China to monopolize American commerce for decades. China is at best an adversary.  In a lot of ways, it is our mortal enemy.  It needs to be treated as such.  And any American citizens or corporate entities that conspire with China to our detriment need to be severely punished.
  • And finally, I want him to fire Anthony Fauci. That dope has botched this COVID thing like no one could imagine.  I wouldn’t trust him to run a CVS Drug Store never mind the nation’s health.  He really is a dope.

Well that’s enough for this Christmas.  Of course, my first present has to happen way in advance of Christmas just to make the other presents possible.  I want a resounding election victory for the President.  So if that isn’t too much to ask, let’s start there.
