20MAR2023 – Spring Equinox – The Canada War

A work day and a writing day.  Having added a couple of thousand words to my story I felt extremely virtuous.  So, I looked at the headlines to see what I had missed.  Yikes!

What I saw was plenty of panic over the bank failures and the subsequent actions of the Fed and the other central banks.  The narrative is that the Fed and the regulators are going to thread the needle by raising the prime rate enough to keep inflation from igniting but save the banks from imploding by trading their underwater bonds for new ones.  Now of course the bond swaps will be wildly inflationary but the thought is if we just keep pumping cash into the banks it will keep the economy from imploding.  What could go wrong with that?  I’m thinking of converting all my assets into Doritos, the only known commodity that never loses its value and that all people recognize as cash.

Meanwhile the MSM is beginning to get interested in the reports of the Biden family receiving Chinese influence peddling payments, and even CNN admitting on the air that “this doesn’t look good.”  So, what can Mumbley Joe do?  Well, he says it ain’t so.  But nobody believes that.  So, he starts yelling about “assault weapons.”  But nobody even blinks an eye anymore at that ploy.  So, what’s a grifter to do?  I assume he’ll try to wag the dog.  He’s wanted to get the Russian oil and gas but it turns out the Russians have guns and aren’t afraid of rainbow flag waving soldiers.  Plus, it turns out they still have those nukes.  Not good.

My guess is he’ll try for a safe war.  Maybe he’ll invade Canada.  They’ve got oil and gas just like the Russians but no nukes and they’re kind of light in the loafers, especially that Trudeau guy.

I mean, it’s a great idea.  This will be easier than that famous standoff with Corn Pop.  And he could look tough while doing it.  All it needs is a cool name like Operation Desert Storm had.  Maybe Operation Arctic Blast or Operation Great White North or Hey Ya Hosers!  And this would give General Milly Vanilly a chance to actually win at something.  All he’d have to do is have his tranny division roll into Ottawa and de-pants Trudeau and demand he surrender to the obvious justice of a (nominally) heterosexual man groveling before transgender soldiers demanding his country relinquish their harmful fossil fuels to a higher power.

It makes sense to me.  It can be a form of reparations for the slaves that the white people of Canada never got around to having but probably thought about.  Maybe Gavin Newsom could get involved.  His state is looking for $65 billion dollars for reparations and right now the Silicon Valley guys are kind of tapped out.  Maybe Joe can give him a cut of the plunder from the Canada war.

You know I really like the idea of the Canada war.  We can’t lose (probably) and we can sell off parts of Canada to the rest of the world which will give us enough money to keep our economy afloat long enough to get Joe Biden re-elected in 2024.  No, this is good.  This is the real thing.  I’ve got to call up Biden and get his people working on this.  I wonder what my cut should be?  Ten percent?

Guest Contributor – War Pig – 19MAR2023 – Human Diversity

Having been around the world a few times, courtesy of Uncle Sugar, I can say all humans are UNequal. Therein lies one of our greatest strengths. I would stand no chance against LeBron on the court, but he would be little more than a bullet magnet on the battlefield. I’m not going to trade punches with Mike Tysoj, but give us each a rifle and let us enter a forest at opposite ends and I’ll hang his scalp on my wigwam. I am not a military hero like Chesty Puller but i am a sneaky, conniving bastard who can knife you in the back to prevent you attacking my nation.

Our inequalities have allowed us as a species to thrive. The Pygmies can exploit their environment in the ways the Tutsi cannot, while the Tutsi’s altitude advantage allows them to see lions a long way off and protect their livestock. The native tribes of the Amazon would quickly expire in the Himalayas while Himalayans would melt and choke in the dense, super humid air of the Amazonian basin. We are the one adaptable species that can either find a way or make one. So thank God he did not create us all equal.

Selective Enforcement of the Law – Up in Lights on Broadway

“Alvin Bragg is the 37th District Attorney elected in Manhattan. Alvin – a lifelong Manhattanite who served as a state and federal prosecutor – has spent more than two decades fighting to make our communities safer and our criminal justice system fairer.”

This is the header on the official website of the Manhattan District Attorney.  Alvin Bragg is also another one of those black district attorneys that George Soros spent millions of dollars electing so that they could prevent black criminals from being indicted for the crimes they commit.

So, after destroying the criminal justice system in New York City and destroying the lives and businesses of countless New Yorkers he’s decided to add hypocrisy to his lawlessness.  Here’s what I mean.

If a black criminal held up a jewelry store by beating the owner into submission and made off with a million dollars in diamonds and even if the NYPD managed to catch him red-handed Alvin Bragg would let him go.  No bail needed and maybe no charges.

But if the Democrat Party wants to harass Donald Trump, Bragg will gladly indict and prosecute Donald Trump for an old charge in a victimless crime that all of Bragg’s predecessors found too absurd to pursue.

Selective enforcement of the law is the process that the Left uses to punish Republicans and conservatives and protect their criminal constituencies which currently means the black inner-city thugs and thieves.

Well, it’s not surprising.  This has been going on forever.  Think of the policeman that was hung out to dry for the Michael Brown shooting and the guy who stopped Trayvon Martin from bashing his brains in by shooting him.  They were prosecuted for self-defense.  The fact that they weren’t convicted was luck based on the honesty of the juries.  But what kind of chance will Donald Trump have with a Manhattan jury.  I doubt he got 5% of the vote in Manhattan in 2020.

And from what I understand the Justice Department is waiting to get their turn with the classified documents case.  So, the lawfare will probably go on for years.

I guess the only point of this post is to acknowledge that the Left has volunteered to add yet another page to the roster of evidence that the United States of America has officially descended to the level of banana republic.  Nothing more clearly defines the difference between a legitimate constitutional country and a junta like using kangaroo courts to go after your political opponents.  Whether it’s Castro in Cuba or the Sandinistas in Nicaragua weaponizing the justice system is a hallmark.  And now it’s in the highest visibility venue with the most famous man in the country.  It’s going to be a sideshow.  But they’re not scared.

I remember how before the Iraq War there were innumerable articles about how Saddam and his psychopathic son Uday were notorious for using the Iraqi justice department to imprison, torture and then murder political enemies.  The rape of the family members was a particular trademark of Uday but Saddam’s regime was brutal for anyone who wasn’t in the good graces of the dictator.

Well, I guess we still have a long way to go but Washington should be proud that they’ve made such great strides in just a few short decades.  Between the presidencies of Obama and Biden we have raised lawfare to a high art as the members of the Trump administration can truthfully attest.  Prosecutors and judges will bend the law and suspend constitutional rights to punish those they accuse on trumped up charges.  Just look at what they’ve done to the January 6th defendants.

I could hope that seeing this played out against the former President of the United States might wake up even the groggiest Americans out there and act as a call to action.  But I don’t think so.  We’ve hit bottom.  America is a place where those in charge do whatever they want to those they despise.  That’s the only lesson I draw.

Downfall and the Joe Biden Shuffle

Even the most woke members of the Democrat managerial class must be starting to get the look that you see on the faces of the junior officers in the movie “Downfall.”  The banks are starting to fail, the peasants are looking decidedly pitchforky and the news from Europe is rotten on all fronts.  Now it looks like Russia and China have gotten Iran and Saudi Arabia to bury the hatchet and suddenly currency and petroleum deals won’t be an American monopoly anymore.  Add to that how food and fuel costs are beggaring the working class and you have the beginnings of a really bad situation.

And can you imagine if Joe Biden’s plan to escape from this quagmire is a wag the dog with US troops in Ukraine?  I don’t know about you but I don’t think there’s an eighteen-year-old left in this country who is itching to sign up to fight that war.  I read that military recruiters are coming up empty when they bang the drum for recruits.  And in a lot of cases the people who are showing up are either too fat or too weak or too criminal or too stupid to pass the already dangerously lowered standards that are currently required.

So short of marching Americans to war what will Joe Biden do to rally the country?  I’m guessing he’ll give us some fireside chats.  I’m trying to imagine Mumbles Biden trying to enunciate, “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.”  It’ll probably come out as, “We have nothing!  Uhhhhh?  To fear or not to fear, that is the, uhhh, thing?  Oh, you know what I mean.  What that other guy said, the one with the cigarette holder.”

Really, things are starting to get dicey.  Lots and lots of the lower echelons of the managerial state are starting to notice that things aren’t going very well for their operations.  Despite the best laid plans of morons, involving trillions of dollars of monopoly money being dumped into the economy it is contracting and despite the millions of young slackers who have permanently moved back into their parents’ basement there are going to be a lot of people unemployed soon.

So, when unhappiness starts to peak and Joe doesn’t have any good news, we’re going to get to see just how well he can shuffle.  My guess is he’ll begin to unwind some of his stupider positions.  Maybe he’ll discover that the Russians and Chinese aren’t such bad guys after all!  Why, the Ukraine thing was Zelensky’s fault all along.  He could throw Blinken and company under the bus just for the hell of it and start cutting deals with Putin and Xi.

And maybe he’ll discover that petroleum products turn out to be really important for the economy and by golly those Greenies are just a bunch of dog-faced pony soldiers or something.  Now of course that would be wildly hypocritical based on all his former statements over the last few years but this is Joe Biden the king of hypocrites.  Changing positions and pretending he always believed something is his stock in trade.

Maybe I’m overestimating just how bad things will get in the next few months.  Maybe it’ll take another year, or even two, to crash what’s left of the American economy.  That’s definitely possible.  For all I know, Kevin McCarthy might be getting ready to cooperate on another multi-trillion-dollar boondoggle to let Joe keep this circus going for another year or so.  But even so, it is starting to feel like the final act is not so far over the horizon.

And it’s not only Biden who has to figure out how to pay the piper.  We all do.  What would be your game plan if all of a sudden hyper-inflation became a reality?  I know I don’t have one.  The good news is that the Democrats would be summarily voted out of office.  The bad news is that the Republicans would be in charge.  We don’t seem to have any serious people left in this country.  Even our generals and corporate leaders are mostly empty suits.  And that reflects what kind of people we have become.  We have gotten the leaders, that for the most part, we deserve.

If I were to assign our primary sins, they’d be sloth and greed.  And correspondingly we will suffer poverty and extreme hardship.  Maybe in the future when stained-glass windows on the cathedrals are made to provide a cautionary lesson about the sins of our times maybe Joe Biden’s leering skeletal face will be the symbol of our downfall.

Thoughts After a Hectic Week

Just a busy, busy week.  Last Thursday we had a town political event that kept me tied down for a couple of days.  Then this week we had three days of a “winter storm” which was half snow and half rain and had to be shoveled by hand which, honestly, is kind of fun but eats up a lot of time.  And today I had to pay the piper or rather let my accountant do my taxes which turned out rather well.  A few thousand dollars will come back to me from state and federal governments and the peasants will rejoice (huzzah!).

But it’s kind of kept me from being on top of events and also significantly interfered with both fiction writing and blogging (booo!).  But I hope we’re now past most of the problems.  The forecasts I’ve seen for the remainder of March and the beginning of April seem more spring-like than wintery and I don’t foresee any major disruptions to my very carefully planned laziness by the forces of entropy.  But who knows.  C’est la guerre.

But enough complaining.  All of this is a long-winded way of saying, “I’m back.”

And I guess a thing that’s worth discussing is the depths to which Blue-State politics infects even Republican party policy with woke madness.  I heard from an official that a plurality of Republican officials voted to empower a committee to select candidates for public office on the basis of race and sexual orientation.  Supposedly the fact that only a small number of voters were present saved the party from having to accept the results of this vote but think of that.  If even the Republicans are now choosing representation by the diversity, equity and inclusion nonsense then what chance is there to have our side of things heard at all?

What the official told me is that the Republicans from the larger towns and cities feel compelled to toe the line coming from people who are obviously not even Republicans.  But with such supermajorities among the voting population, they’ve been emboldened to send ringers in to infiltrate the Republican party and essentially take it over.

So what does that tell you about the trajectory of Blue State politics?  Well, think of it now as an echo chamber inside of an echo chamber.  These northeastern states will soon be vying with California for being beholden to state worker unions but without California’s Silicon Valley tax base.  It’s already the case that the teacher’s union dictates the state budget process and because of this the pension liabilities estimated for the retiring baby boomers will very shortly make a balanced budget impossible.

If there were a responsible administration, they would be looking at this coming tidal wave and calculating how to restructure this debt and also rein in the pay and benefit packages to something that would be sustainable.  But the current administration wouldn’t dare do this.  So, we’ll be going over Niagara Falls without the barrel.

Now the smart thing to do is get out of Dodge.  But unfortunately, I’m tied down by family necessity so I’ll be getting a ring side view of the whole sickening spectacle and probably will be rendered penniless and homeless into the bargain.  But such is life.

And it will probably give me endless stories of death and destruction with which to amuse my readers.  Huzzah again!

But the whole reason for this cautionary tale is that creeping socialism is a disease for which there is no cure.  Amputation of the gangrenous appendage is the only treatment.  With that in mind the healthy Red States should think long and hard how they can inoculate themselves from the kind of citizens who inhabit these Blue States.  Government employee unions must be kept from exerting power over the legislation by whatever means are necessary and things like welfare must be minimized to avoid the situation you see where homelessness and drug addiction begins to dominate in the large cities.  And they should do this as a group , coordinating their efforts and sharing information.

Well, that’s enough for now.  How’s that for some gloom and doom for a Thursday.

Maybe the First Stirrings of a Red State Council?

Just the first little inkling of what a real red state cooperation could look like.  Coordinating efforts to resist and fight back against the Leftist agenda, both in government and elsewhere.  It’s a start anyway.

Tax Day!

One for you nineteen for me!

So that dreaded day has arrived.  Today I gather up my forms and receipts and other documents and bring them to the accountant and get whatever news there is to hear.  Will I owe money?  Of course.  Will the government make my life worse?  Of course.

But it’s a ritual.  There’s a purifying aspect to the whole thing.  I stopped doing it myself when the IRS first began plaguing me.  That time it turned out they owed me money but it took a real accountant to figure that out and I didn’t want to leave myself open to the mercy (!) of the federal government.

I’ll be back later and hopefully I’ll be in a mood to write.  One for you, nineteen for me.

Drew Barrymore Clarifies the Relationship of Women to TransWomen

A picture is worth a thousand words.  Sorry girls the guy in the dress is apparently your boss.  Better find out what he expects from you and keep him happy.  Maybe try complimenting him on his looks or clothes or hair or something.  Be careful he looks kind of big and strong..

Could This Be the Year of the Jackpot?

Could This Be the Year of the Jackpot?

Robert Heinlein was an American science fiction writer back in the middle of the last century.  He was considered one of the best writers during what used to be called the “golden age” of science fiction because he wrote sf that kept the science front and center.  If he wrote about interplanetary nuclear-powered rockets, he made sure the physics was legitimate.

But he also wrote less realistic stories that involved more fantastic types of plots.  He wrote one short story called “The Year of the Jackpot” in which a statistician was examining an enormous number of trends such as sunspot activity, bank failures, extreme weather conditions, bankruptcies, crime, war and other more esoteric data.  And what he discovered was that all the various trends were headed for unusual maxima and minima at precisely the same time.  And what he predicted was that every bad thing was about to happen all at once.

And of course, that included nuclear war, invasion, plagues, earthquakes, floods and hurricanes.  So, he ducks into a well-stocked remote cabin with his girlfriend and a conveniently found milk cow that wanders by and survives the year of the jackpot.  Of course, just as the story ends, he realizes the biggest jackpot of all is the sun going nova.  Bummer.

Now this is silly season science fiction.  It’s the kind of story that Rod Serling would have put on the Twilight Zone (if he could have afforded to pay the kind of royalties that Heinlein would have wanted for his story to be adapted for television).  But it’s also true that sometimes when things start going wrong, they synergize even more misfortune until you end up with a real disaster.  Take for instance the Dust Bowl.  The financial conditions of the Great Depression aggravated the need of farmers to overuse their soil to try to keep up on their mortgages and ended up destroying their farms and exacerbating the erosion that was already taking place.  And the dislocation of all these farmers heading to California further damaged the economy.  The weather conditions that increased the problem were probably just random but put together they seemed like some kind of biblical plague.

Now look at our situation.  Back in 2001 we have the 9-11 attacks and that catalyzes the start of two big wars and a bunch of smaller ones.  Then we have the banking crisis of 2008 and that catalyzes an even bigger disaster, namely the presidency of Barack Obama.  And he begins the process of weaponizing the federal government against the citizens of the United States.  And that radicalizing of the Deep State may be responsible for things like the program that created the COVID virus and the mRNA vaccines and definitely the Ukraine war and all the other color revolutions spawned at the CIA and State Department.

And all these consequences seem to be resonating and catalyzing each other and making things worse and worse.  And from there it’s not a big leap to wonder if the whole thing ends up in a Year of the Jackpot climax.  And it wouldn’t be much different from Heinlein’s.  Coincidentally his make-believe world was suffering from transgender couples, bioweapons, horrendous rains and snowfall in California and other climate anomalies such as we’ve been seeing this winter.  And Joe Biden and Anthony Blinken have been working overtime to see if they can add a full nuclear exchange between Russia and the United States just to make sure we don’t miss out on any part of the story.

Now I don’t at all believe that the universe has some built in clock that coordinates all the good and bad “trends” so that a year of the jackpot is some kind of inevitable event.  I’m fully aware that human actions are plenty enough cause for all of the chaos and dysfunction we see around us.  In fact, it’s obvious that a lot of the chaos is intentional and has very discernible motives around consolidating power and accumulating money.

But I’ll tell you one thing.  There is such a thing as luck, good and bad.  And our luck has been running on the very bad side for a good long time.  Maybe a little prayer for divine intercession wouldn’t be out of line.
