The Falling Down Revolt

The Revolt on the Right is actually a civil rights movement.  Nobody frames it that way because the revolt is of the people that every other civil rights movement in this country has been framing as their oppressor.  This is the civil rights movement that at its core is straight white men.  That is the one identity that has no value in the victim identity rating system.  Or rather the value is negative infinity.  If you possess the three identity components of male white and straight then you can be passed over for a college spot, a scholarship, for a job, for a promotion, for an award and everyone will say it was the right decision even if you were objectively more qualified.

Now I said it was just straight white men who make up the core of the movement but it is becoming clearer that identity politics can affect other people too.  Recent investigations into Ivy League admissions show that Harvard has a policy to limit Asian American applicants even if they are demonstrably more qualified than some of their other favored minority applicants.  And the state of women’s sports is beginning to feel the impact of what having actual women compete against so called trans-gender women will mean.  Pretty soon the actual women will be completely crowded out of the winner’s circle.

And look at the recent cases of minorities running afoul of the royal flush of identity politics, the LGBTQ hand.  Normally being a black man is a pretty strong position when navigating the Hollywood landscape but Kevin Hart saw this credential trumped when he was hounded out of his Academy Awards hosting gig for having said uncomplimentary things about homosexuality in a tweet a number of years ago.  And as the final one-upsmanship situation a lesbian recently was shunned by the LGBTQ community for asking the question “How are trans-women different from men?”

But what is happening is an awakening to the fact that straight white men and to various degrees other groups are being discriminated against in the name of fairness.  And there isn’t a bit of fairness about it.  For decades the people of this country were told that each new identity group needed to be given special consideration to make up for the disparities in wealth or power or acceptance in order to bring the country together.  But rather than make the country more united it only stoked resentment and provided an industry in government oversight into every aspect of our lives.  School, college, work, housing, social organizations, sports and every business and profession became the target for relentless harassment and micromanagement.  At this point we’ve reached the point where freedom of religion has been trampled on to the extent that a wedding cake baker is hounded out of his own business to satisfy the spite of truly evil individuals.

I think Donald Trump’s campaign may be looked back at as the match that set off the powder keg.  Awareness of the situation is growing and more and more regular people are recognizing that they are being abused by a system that’s rigged against them and isn’t fair.  And they’re starting to realize that they don’t have to take it anymore.

To the mainstream media and the democrats this isn’t a civil rights movement.  To them it’s just racist people showing their lack of compassion.  But I think it is exactly the civil rights movement needed to bring back into balance the rights of the only people allowed to be trampled on by the identity politics cabal.

The real problem is what to call this movement.  All kinds of labels have been circulated.  The logic of it is basically Anti-Anti-White.  Now, that is a terrible name but the sense of it is there.  This is a revolt against reverse discrimination.  This is a reaction to the tyranny of the affirmative action regime.  This is a push for freedom from the thought police.  If I was looking for a symbol that represents the spirit of who is behind this movement, I would take the character in the movie “Falling Down.”  A schlub who has been trying to play by the rules all his life and finds that the game is rigged against him.

How about the Falling Down Revolt?

War Pig – Child Protective Services Isn’t Protecting Children

This is a rant I did on a forum where the foster care system and the abuses by family courts and the CPS (child protective services) were being discussed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The old system of children’s homes was better. Sure, there were occasional abuses but nothing of the same order of magnitude as the current system. The current system is a pedophile’s dream. My sister and her husband were foster parents. They got kids so damaged by the system that many had to wind up being institutionalized. They finally adopted four kids, a pair of brothers and a pair of sisters, that had been physically and sexually abused by other foster families in the system. NONE OF THOSE FORMER FOSTERS HAS SEEN THE INSIDE OF A JAIL CELL. Yes, there are good foster parents like my sister and her husband, but there is a large minority of really bad ones.
CPS is also rampant with corruption and inefficiency as well as outright dereliction. Even with good foster parents like my sister and her husband, scheduled visits by CPS were often not performed for MONTHS. The case worker was supposed to lay eyes on these kids on a regular basis, but it was often three months or more between visits. Then the money system in CPS is also crooked and ripe for abuse. The former CPS director of our county was arrested, charged and convicted of embezzlement. $400k I believe. Payments to foster families was spotty and dispersed so that the families could not keep track if they were being properly reimbursed, Sometimes, payments were months late and listed the wrong expenses. This is a tactic of CPS to siphon off money. A forensic check of the finances that caught the former director said that the financial system was totally in chaos. It has not gotten any better since. Our local county commissioners tried to get involved but were smacked away from the table by the state and state court judges.
The system is totally broken. Children are being abused, sold, and killed. Suicide rates for foster children are through the roof. Many blame drugs, and I agree somewhat but that is no excuse for institutionalized abuse, rape, slavery and murder. One child a few counties over was found dead in Arizona, half the country away. Until she was identified nobody knew she was missing. She had been gone for two years. The foster family never reported her missing (they likely sold her), and the CPS caseworker had not checked on the child in two years, although her case files said that she had. She merely faked the reports. Upshot? The parents were denied future foster care and the caseworker resigned with NO CRIMINAL PENALTIES FOR ANYONE INVOLVED.
Blow up the whole system now. Today. Reinstitute children’s homes (orphanages) where they are all in one place and easy to watch.
The Portly Politico Sums Up Carlson’s Essay
Tyler does an excellent job condensing Tucker’s 15 minute video clip to a two minute read.
Watch the video if you have the time
but read read the summation if you can’t spare the time, it’s well written.
Tucker Carlson’s Diagnosis
War Pig – Second Amendment and Gun Registration and Licensing
Ok, here’s one I recently wrote on the FoxNews site about the Second Amendment and gun registration/licensing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We don’t have to register to exercise our free speech (unless we’re conservatives on a liberal college campus). We don’t have to register or be licensed to enjoy freedom of religion, nor freedom of peaceful assembly.

I postulate that speech has killed more people than private citizen’s guns. How many people did Hitler kill, himself, I mean? How many times did he pull the trigger and take a life? No record on if he ever did it in WWI, and as far as we know, he only ever pulled the trigger on one person – himself. Yet he used words, speech, to create hatred for millions of people and gave orders, which are words, to exterminate over 6 million people who had no guns to defend themselves from his words. Sticks and stones may indeed break bones but words can cause a Holocaust.

If the pen indeed be mightier than the sword, then maybe we should start registering pens and speech, forcing practitioners of free speech whether verbally or in writing to comply with odious licensing procedures and taking away the pen and speech whenever someone waves a “red flag”. I bet you’d see CNN and MSNBC howl then.

Tucker Carlson and the Red Pill

I was listening to the Z-Man’s Friday morning podcast this morning.  It’s on the Ancient Greeks and since that is something that I’m more than somewhat steeped in it was quite a lot of fun to listen to.  Lots of good comparisons between Ancient Athens and the United States.  What was topical was at minute 56 of the podcast he mentions that broadcast that Tucker Carlson did recently.  I linked to it a couple of days ago and said it sounded like Tucker was running for President.  What the Z-Man said was that it sounded like Carlson was reading aloud some of the dissident right posts that he and the other writers have been putting out for six or more years.

What this reminds me of is Vox Day’s constant refrain that “the Alt-Right is inevitable.”  Well, I don’t know if the Alt-Right or the Dissident Right’s agenda is inevitable but what seems to inevitable is that a very good chunk of the American Nation is waking up to the fact that they’ve been putting their faith in men who really couldn’t care less if they lived or died.  In fact, it appears they’d prefer it if we just up and died as quickly as possible.  Call it the shifting Overton window or the red-pilling of the normies or whatever you like but if a Cloud Dweller like Tucker Carlson is coming around to the nitty gritty of where we’re headed then it won’t be long before even the most brain-dead denizen of Squaresville, USA will be waking up to the realization that Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney do not mean them well.

What I’m curious about is what will be the next big step change.  In the same way as Blue States practice civil disobedience such as Sanctuary Cities, will Red States start protecting their citizens against national policies that they object to?  For instance, if companies like Master Card and Google continue de-platforming conservatives could state attorneys general begin legal proceedings against these companies to force them to relent?  Maybe they’ll prosecute the local universities that indoctrinate kids and strip them of their legal rights.

Honestly, I don’t know what’s next.  But it does appear that dissident ideas are getting mainstreamed at least to some extent.  Reading about the Baltimore lawyer who is suing the Southern Poverty Law Center and attempting to have their tax-free status revoked for using illegal tactics to get him fired from the Baltimore City government sounds like maybe a first step to addressing the radical de-platforming.  Hearing this week that Master Card may be joining forces with the crowd-funding companies to deny access to e-commerce to conservatives sounds like some kind of Maoist or Stalinist internal exile tactic.  At lest in the gulag they fed you once in a while.  In our cashless society, denial of access to a credit card is tantamount to being an exile from modern life.

And this all points to the paradox of how I feel about the current situation.  A few years ago, I didn’t know just how bad it really was but I was almost in depression because I couldn’t understand why we kept losing when we seemed to have the upper hand.  Now I realize just how bad it is and that most of our “leaders” aren’t really trying to help us and yet I’m actually strangely optimistic.  I feel like knowing the problem makes it possible for me to take some actions and improve how I live my life.

Will the unrest on the right reach critical mass?  It’s hard to say but I’m interested to see what Tucker Carlson ends up doing in the next year or two.  He’s a popular journalist and could do a lot to persuade people.  Stay tuned.

Tucker Carlson Has a Video That Touches on the Problems Killing Us and the Reasons for Them

This is fifteen minutes long and a lot of it is familiar but it’s extremely well done.  He must be running for President in 2024.  This reads like a campaign platform.  It makes sense and it will make you hate our so-called leaders even more.  He even calls out Romney by name as the face of the uncaring mercenary.

He-Man Woman Haters Club or the Royal Order of Raccoons?

As is my way I’m trying to come up with the name of something before the something even exists.  I’ve become intrigued with the idea of starting a fraternal order that would provide a place for people like me to feel at home.  Both of the names in the title are imaginary societies that appeared in popular tv shows when I was a kid.  The He-Man Woman Haters Club was where the Little Rascals congregated when they were having trouble with Darla or the other girls in the neighborhood and the Racoon Lodge is where Ralph and Ed retreated to when Alice and Trixie were nagging them about the dumpy apartments, they lived in.  Of course, these names may be under copyright protection but any name will do as long as the ground rules are right.

Rule 1 – All voting members will be married men.  They have to be men because women are a nuisance.  They have to be married because wisdom only comes through suffering and no one suffers as much as married men.  Unmarried men are welcome but cannot vote.

Rule 2 – All memberships will be approved by me based on interviews and recommendations of people I can vouch for.  Memberships can be revoked any time someone stops fitting the membership criteria.  I decide the criteria and can change them anytime I deem it necessary.  It’s a flexible system and should prove robust.

Rule 3 – The women’s auxiliary is made up exclusively of wives who can make sandwiches.  They have no standing in the organization other than to assist the members, cheer at sporting events, chaperone children’s activities and make sandwiches (and other designated foodstuffs).  If any wife becomes a nuisance she will be ejected and her husband will be liable for the offense up to and including expulsion.  Girlfriends of unmarried members can join the auxiliary but must get along with the wives.  Any member who has a wife and a girlfriend will have to sort that out himself.

Rule 4 – All children’s activities must be chaperoned by the parents or legal guardians of the children attending.  This is key.  People should care enough to spend time with their kids.  If you don’t want to why would we?

Rule 5 – No member can openly espouse Democrat, progressive, communist, socialist, globalist, anti-American or any other pinko sentiments.  You can be an atheist if you refrain from annoying religious people about it.  The organization is innately pro-God because God has always done right by me.  But we are not denominational.  God only talks to me when I’m alone and won’t allow me to tell anyone else what religion he belongs to.  Sorry.

Rule 6 – Men will wear pants at all times.  This is very important.  We are Americans and American men wear pants.  End of story.  You Scots are out of luck.

Rule 7 – Whenever in the course of a meeting or in organizational documents a pronoun is used for a person of indeterminate sex the masculine form will be used.  If this bothers you then you’re in the wrong club.

Other rules equally idiosyncratic will follow as I get around to making them up.  Suffice it to say that I will provide rules to prevent all the behaviors that annoy me in everyday politically correct arenas.  No make-believe pronouns, no gender equality, no weirdos of any kind (other than my kind of weirdos).

I am openly soliciting a name for this noble fraternal organization.  And if you can think of anything that needs to be added to the rules or if you have other comments, such as, “you must be insane!” then just leave them in the comment section below.

Yours in fraternal benevolence,

photog (AKA, the High, Exalted, Mystic Grand Master General)

Mitt Romney is the New John McCain

I lived in Massachusetts while Romney was governor.  He was useless.  This knife in Trump’s back is completely in character for Willard Mitt Romney.  I remember when he challenged Ted Kennedy for his senate seat.  Romney, a supposedly sincere Mormon twisted himself into a pretzel explaining how abortion wouldn’t raise any moral problems if he had to vote for it.  And as Governor he would take all the abuse from the Democrats and the Press with nary a peep.  He’s the only Republican I’ve ever seen that can make the Bushes seem macho by comparison.

I guess we can depend on Romney to be the new spoiler in the Republican senate delegation.  But boy will he get praise from the media.  I wonder if they remember his binders full of women?

02JAN2019 – American Greatness Post of the Day – Nationalism is America’s Comeback Kid by Ken Masugi

Ken Masugi has a post on resurgent nationalism and uses as a proof that even “reliable liberal E.J. Dionne, … makes apologies on behalf of nationalism.” in an article that Masugi quotes.
Well at least we don’t have to click on Dionne’s post.  This tells you that the 2020 Dem candidates will be touting themselves as populists.  Hah!

Nationalism Is America’s Comeback Kid

My 2019 New Year’s Resolutions

I’ve been reading through the resolutions and predictions from various sites.  Pretty dismal stuff.  While I won’t deny that the coming year will be full of rampaging House democrats investigating and impeaching whatever they can, I don’t think throwing up my hands and waiting for the apocalypse is the correct response.

What I think should be done is look at the situation on the ground and figure out ways to make changes.  Granted everything we can do as individuals will be incremental and local but nevertheless, it should be done.  Actions are cumulative and at the local level they can be significant to the individuals around you, especially people you have close ties with.  And action boosts your morale and the morale of those around you.  Pollyannaism isn’t necessary.  It doesn’t do any good to be unrealistically optimistic about the situation we’re in, but refraining from despair is key and making even a small improvement in your local situation is very encouraging.

And in line with that idea, I think it’s important not to spend all your time reading doom and gloom.  Following politics is inherently depressing because so many of the players are terrible human beings.  Make sure you reserve a good chunk of your free time for pleasurable activities that provide uplift and a chance to interact with people who share your interests and point of view.

In the last few months, more folks have been commenting and some of the readers have kindly provided articles of their own to the site.  I find this extremely encouraging and take it as a positive sign for the direction OCF will be going.  A community of like-minded individuals sharing their interests and opinions is the original concept I had for the site and now I am beginning to understand how to attract the people who would be interested in this and how to organize the web pages to accommodate this.

I intend to run some promotions to increase readership substantially which should also expand the scope of the topics covered.  I know about photography and have some literary and musical preferences that I can write to.  Adding individuals with other interests and expertise will expand the circle of people who will be drawn to the content here.

Beyond that, I am interested in having other writers on the political side.  I have had some folks who have expressed interest in this.  But I definitely don’t want the site to be politics 24/7.  As important as it is it would bore me to death.  That’s why I do the Trump humor posts.  I have to break up the horror with some humor.

But let’s do the New Year’s thing.

I resolve to:

  • Put in some time at my fiction writing.
  • Research actionable ideas to improve the political/cultural situation.
  • Identify the best existing cultural, educational and commercial resources in order to avoid wherever possible the corrupt versions around us.
  • Help my family, friends and folks on our side to thrive in this nihilistic culture we’re living in.
  • Share as much happiness and good humor as I can with those on our side of the divide.

Happy New Year everyone.  Stick around and in the New Year stop by and resolve to leave a few comments.  I’d love to hear from you, even if the comment is critical.
