OPEC Body Slams Biden for the Mid-Terms

OPEC has decided to lower oil production for November.  And just stating is going to raise the price of heating oil and gasoline just when Biden needs these prices to go down before the Mid-Terms.  The way Creepy Uncle Joe keeps getting mugged by reality you’d think I might be starting to feel sorry for him.  Well, I feel sorry for us.  We have to live with runaway inflation and a recession all at the same time.  And we have to worry about the threat of nuclear war on top of that.

But as far as feeling sorry for Dopey Joe I couldn’t care less.  I want all the idiots who voted for him to stew in the regret they are feeling.  His green energy boondoggle is the most disastrous policy since the establishment of Prohibition in the 1920s.  It has singlehandedly brought the Western World to its knees this year and this winter may actually bring parts of Europe back to the Ice Age.  Well, good!  These idiots are getting what they voted for and as the expression go they should get it good and hard.

I bought a cap for my fuel oil prices for this winter.  It looks like I’ll need it.  Keep going Joe.  At this rate you’ll be acclaimed the WOAT president even before your one term is done.  Before you know it even the people who run the Democrat Voter Fraud Machine will be voting for the Republicans just to save themselves from freezing to death.

Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. When Harry Met Harry

Today I heard the crushing news that “Bros” had crashed at the box office in its first week of release.  This first of its kind sexually explicit gay romantic comedy only took in $4.8 MM on its first weekend.  Shocker, right?  I mean who wouldn’t be lined up to see romantic misunderstandings and men buggering each other on the big screen.  You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll throw up.  And even if you’re a guy and rom-coms aren’t your thing why wouldn’t you let the little lady take you for a date movie to see love and monkey pox triumph.

I immediately blamed homophobia.  After all, the movie has a 91% critic’s score on Rotten Tomatoes and a Cinemascore from audiences of A.  What else could account for normal people skipping out on this entertainment treat?  All kidding aside, who did the makers of this film think would be going to see it?  Basically, gay men.  Normal men have exactly zero interest in this thing.  Normal women aren’t lining up to watch men sodomize each other.  Even lesbians have no desire to see what these guys do to each other.  I guess to be fair, although it’s not a huge audience, bisexual men might show up too.  But then that’s it.

The movie cost $22MM to make and then you’ve got to add in the advertising budget.  Let’s say tickets are ten bucks each then all it takes is four million gay men to go see it and it’s at least at break even.  Surely there are four million gays in America.  They seem to be everywhere you look.  So, if the movie is tanking then it follows as the night follows day that it must be because most gay men in America are homophobes.

I know it’s hard to believe but there’s no way around it.  Maybe something can be done on social media.  Some kind of non-fungible token (NFT) could be displayed by gay men to prove that they’ve gone to see Bros at least once.  And anyone not displaying the NFT on his twitter feed should be driven out of the LGBTQ community and forced to wear a MAGA hat in public.

These people make me laugh.  They expect to get people to go see this crap.  Sure, they force everybody to pretend to approve of this stuff at work and school.  But people go to the movies to be entertained.  They don’t want to be miserable there.  Only masochists and humorless scolds go to a movie to prove a point.  I wouldn’t be surprised if a good chunk of the “gay community” aren’t interested in this movie either.

So maybe this will be a teachable moment for the Left.  People can be bullied into paying lip service to things they dislike but that doesn’t mean they’ve been brainwashed into really believing the propaganda.  So, if sexually explicit gay romantic comedies are something they want available then by all means let them pay the hundred-dollar ticket price that would make that economically viable.    I’m guessing $75 for popcorn would be about right.  Free refills!

03OCT2022 – OCF Update – This’N’That

I find the increasingly surreal reality around me both dizzying and slightly depressing.  So, I’m trying to distract myself from it with more pleasant subjects.  Last week I started listening to some of Wagner’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen.”  Unfortunately, the library I’m borrowing it from didn’t have the entire four opera set (Sir George Solti’s version) available.  In fact, all they’ve sent me so far is the third opera, Siegfried.

As promised, there are a lot of people singing at each other in German with extremely powerful voices and what seem like lots of emotional problems.  I confess that my lack of German is hampering my appreciation of the dialog but I found many of the melodic parts of the soundtrack very stirring.  I was disappointed that the library didn’t send me Die Walker (“The Valkyrie”).  I’ve always admired the Bugs Bunny version where Elmer Fudd sings along to the “Flight of the Valkyrie” with the magnificent refrain “kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit.”  It seemed the height of musical sophistication at the time.  So far, the experiment has been amusing.  We shall see how it develops.

After watching “The Northman” I’ve decided to review some of the other versions of the play, Hamlet.  I’ve been a fan of Olivier’s version but I think I want to watch Gibson’s and Branagh’s versions again.  One of the only advantages that Branagh’s version had is that it’s comprehensive.  Olivier left out the characters of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and although I see why he did it (time constraints) I do miss those sections.  Next summer I’ll try to attend a live performance of Hamlet somewhere.  There used to be a Shakespeare company in the Berkshires of Massachusetts that I sometimes attended.  They were pretty good.  I’ll have to see if they still exist and find out if they’re covering Hamlet next year.  If not I’m sure some place in New England there is a production.  After all it’s supposed to be the best play by the best playwright in the English language.  Surely someone is still doing it.  My only fear is that it will be exuberantly woke and all the characters will be wheelchair-bound transgender vegans.  That’s bound to take away from the dueling scene.

My scorecard for the November elections is kind of encouraging at the moment.  It seems like the Democrats are trying to psych themselves up.  There’s lots of talk about all these women who registered to vote and all the passion about abortion.  But there is a definite sense that even people like Chuck Todd sense a shellacking in the making.  Losing the House is already a foregone conclusion.  And it’s starting to look like the Senate will also go to the Republicans although whether it will be one seat or a handful is hard to say.  What with Mitch McConnell actively working against some of the Republican candidates it’s hard to figure exactly how the numbers will pan out.  Mitch really is an awful man to have as an ally.  But even he may not be enough to throw the Senate to the Dems while Creepy Uncle Joe is undermining what’s left of Western civilization.

As for the Ukraine war, well that rolling disaster is just another example of the dysfunctional Deep State tampering with the world as if it were their personal Frankenstein’s laboratory.  There seems to be no end to their appetite for destruction.  But this one may be the payoff.  I get the feeling even the Germans have had enough winning.  They’re going to go on a low temperature, low power diet this winter and maybe even these true believers may finally say enough.  Who knows, even their died in the wool Greens may beg for some nuclear power this winter when their toes freeze off.

Well anyway, that’s what’s going on today.  I hope your week has begun well.

Economist Jeffrey Sachs Dares to Speak the Truth About the Pipeline

Sachs is not a conservative.  But apparently he’s not afraid to say what he thinks to the Left.  Here he tells some libs that the whole world thinks we blew up the Nord Stream pipelines and also think that the United States is equally responsible for the dangerous confrontation that may happen between the nuclear superpowers over the Ukraine war.  And I think I detect the western media starting to echo this concern.  Sachs mentions that it is sixty years to the month since the Cuban Missile Crisis but the US State Department is talking trash about their response to nuclear weapons being used.

Well, wag the dog seems to be the tactic that the Democrats are using for this Mid-Term election.  Somehow I don’t think it’s a good idea.  But who knows maybe Joe Biden is a genius.  What do you think?

Moderation is a Myth

Today’s commentary was full of essays telling us that we’re not really so divided (1) (2).  It’s the fringes of both sides who stir up the trouble.  Both sides really want the same thing.  Move to the middle.  Blah, blah, blah.

Probably some of these arguments are well-intentioned.  After all polarization has recently turned to violence among the least stable characters inhabiting the nation.  That mad man who ran over an eighteen-year-old because he had a political argument is a good example.

But the arguments that both sides are the problem is stupid.  The reality is that one side, the progressives, is waging a scorched earth campaign against normalcy with the explicit and coordinated aid of almost every power center in the country.  You would have to be an amnesiac to have already forgotten the George Floyd riots, the resultant breakdown of law and order in the cities, the COVID lockdowns, the sabotage of the energy sector, the transgender assault on children and the anti-white campaign called Critical Race Theory or DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion).

Our side is just trying to survive.  We find ourselves under assault from all directions by the richest and most powerful individuals and organizations.  To claim that this is all some sort of misunderstanding amongst otherwise like-minded citizens is ludicrous and frankly, a lie.  It will take a herculean effort to turn around the situation on the ground in the United States to even barely survive the extinction level damage that has been done to this country.  To tell people that they are overreacting to what we see on our streets is beyond delusional.  It’s either idiocy or dishonesty.

So, my answer to these people trying to have a kumbaya moment is shut up.  What you’re saying isn’t true.  People don’t need to be soothed back to sleep.  They need to be awakened.  If you wake up in the middle of the night and your house is on fire you shouldn’t try to go back to sleep.  Sure, maybe you’re already groggy from the smoke and carbon monoxide but losing consciousness isn’t going to save your life and the lives of your family.  Wake up!  Do what needs to be done to save what’s left of your world.  Don’t listen to the voice of weakness that tells you to avoid the pain of resisting, that tells you that loss is inevitable.  Wake up and do something!

I have respect for those who are trying to organize a resistance and those who are actually doing something.  It’s not necessary for everyone to storm the barricades.  But it is important to reject those weak-hearted or foolish voices that tell us that maybe the truth is somewhere in the middle and all we have to do is reach across the aisle for a compromise.  Reaching across the aisle is what got us here.  We’ve been sliding down the slippery slope so long that we’ve reached terminal velocity.  At this point compromise is defeat.

So don’t tell me that the Mid-Terms aren’t a battle between good and evil.  They definitely aren’t a decisive battle but when you’re down by twenty runs in the bottom of the ninth with two outs and two strikes against you every pitch is a battle.  If you’re selling the story that the Left isn’t the devil, you’re selling a lie.

In the Long Run

We are living in a reductionist endgame scenario that some bright boys must have thought up for us.  After the collapse of the Soviet Union the brain trusts that advise Wall Street and the US government decided that they already controlled enough of the military and monetary power on the planet to take over everything.  And by everything, I mean total control of the human population of this planet.

They bought out the Chinese by turning their country into almost the entire manufacturing base for the United States.  And they control everything else by distributing or withholding credit needed for the other countries to survive in the 21st century environment.  Sure, places like Afghanistan and Iraq acted up a little twenty years ago.  But once their infrastructure was taken out by the US Air Force the resistance they could muster was very limited.  And we then made a point of inviting people from these countries to immigrate to the United States and Europe just to show their brethren back home that it was better to join us than fight us.  And the biggest success of the endgame scenario was their reducing much of rust belt America into a dead zone with no jobs and no hope.  They knew that if they could break the middle class, they’d be able to steamroll the rest of the world without much of a fight.

Lately Eastern Europe; Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and especially Russia have resisted the culture war that goes along with the globalist endgame.  Shockingly these places have refused to embrace the mandatory LGBTQ indoctrination.  It should be fairly interesting to see if these places along with China hold the line on refusing this nihilistic behavior.  I find it a fairly hopeful sign that there are still some places even in Western culture that haven’t been cowed by the globalists into sacrificing their families and children in order to qualify for first class berths on the Titanic.  Maybe these clear-eyed places will be able to show the rest of the West that the emperor has no clothes.

But let’s assume that they fail.  Let’s even assume that China eventually bends the knee to Washington and joins the globalist bandwagon.  The logical endpoint is a world where climate policy eliminates fossil fuels, curtails human reproduction to a one child per family quota and government institutes almost total control of political speech over everyone on this planet.

It’s not that hard to imagine what this kind of system would look like.  The rudiments of it are already on display right now all around you.  The Green New Deal and tech companies are already instituting large chunks of it and the rest will be rolled out once the pesky MAGA people are rounded up and put through an indoctrination camp or two.  And with everybody on board around the world the people in charge are probably thinking there won’t be any barbarians to invade and muck things up in a century or two.

But they’re wrong.  What they don’t understand is that humans aren’t uniform.  You can corral 99% of them and through fear and routine get them to toe the line.  But somewhere out there is a Napoleon or a Caesar.  Someone with dreams grandiose enough that he’ll knock over the apple cart because he doesn’t like apples.  Now this is cold comfort.  None of this will guarantee that the global American empire will implode in time to warm my heart.  In fact, I sort of doubt it will happen in my lifetime.  But at least I don’t have to despair for the whole of humanity.  I’ve always hated reading dystopian stories like 1984 and Brave New World.  The anthill uniformity of these societies is so anti-human that it repels me viscerally.  And that’s what I resent so much about things like the nonsensical energy policy like battery powered cars recharged from a grid powered by fossil fuels.  The patent illogic insults my intelligence.  It’s like watching a scene out of Idiocracy.  It’s just that annoying.

I like to think that in a century or so, someone will rise up and take control of one of the provinces and provide such a better deal to a few of the provincial governors that they declare him emperor (or let’s say first citizen) and after sacking Martha’s Vineyard and the Napa Valley he’ll shut down the Federal Reserve and send the Deep State home without jobs.  I don’t know if this makes sense to any of you but I felt like expressing my hope for the future.  Whatever the outcome of any particular political struggle I just want to convince myself that I don’t believe in a world where Joe Biden is the template for the future.

Cold Thoughts

The weather has turned cold.  There was some sun today but temperatures were in the fifties.  We got out for a walk and there was enough to do around the house but for some reason I couldn’t get a handle on anything interesting in the news.  I guess things will have to percolate for a while.

I watched an old John Barrymore movie called Counsellor at Law.  It was really pretty good.  I hadn’t seen it for a few years and I even forgot the ending.  It had all the stock characters for a movie taking place in 1930s Manhattan.  And it occurred to me that the despised European immigrants that were the downtrodden denizens of the criminal courts in this movie have moved three generations later to the position of despised oppressors of the new downtrodden.

But the funny part is they did this without ever being rich or powerful in between.  Our parents and grandparents struggled to become good Americans in the hope that their descendants would get to live in the working and middle classes by following the rules and believing in the civic nationalism that said that a man was judged by his deeds and not his pedigree.

And now we are told that all that was a mistake.  Everything they did and we believed in was wrong.  All that talk about freedoms and inalienable rights was just a dodge.  It turns out that the Communists and the Fascists were right.  Power comes from the barrel of a gun.  We have no more right to freedom and happiness here than we did back in the old country where some patron or mafioso decided who got to work and who got to starve.  In fact, at least back in the old country there was some sense of loyalty even toward the peasants by those in charge.

So, we’re all expendable now.  Just a bunch of spare parts that are no longer needed in the new American economy.  A giant game of musical chairs where they turn off the music and there’s no place left for you.  It seems to me this explains why the Latinos are starting to gravitate toward the Republican party.  They’re basically the new version of the southern Europeans of a hundred years ago.  They came here expecting to work their way up and now they’re seeing the same dead end.  And they’re figuring out that the Democrats aren’t the party that helps families.  They’re the party of trans-gender indoctrination for their kids and of working women with no time for raising families.

I was reading Putin’s speech about the absorption of the Donbass regions into Russia.  It was very long and had a lot about Russian history and the fall of the Soviet Union.  But there was also a lot about the West.

I’ve copied some sections that I found interesting:

“In fact, they spit on the natural right of billions of people, most of humanity, to freedom and justice, to determine their own future on their own. Now they have completely moved to a radical denial of moral norms, religion, and family.

Let’s answer some very simple questions for ourselves. I now want to return to what I said, I want to address all the citizens of the country – not only to those colleagues who are in the hall – to all the citizens of Russia: do we want to have, here, in our country, in Russia, instead of mom and dad there was “parent number one”, “number two”, “number three” – are they completely crazy already there? Do we really want perversions that lead to degradation and extinction to be imposed on children in our schools from the primary grades? To be drummed into them that there are supposedly other genders besides women and men, and to be offered a sex change operation? Do we want all this for our country and our children? For us, all this is unacceptable, we have a different, our own future.

I repeat, the dictatorship of the Western elites is directed against all societies, including the peoples of the Western countries themselves. This is a challenge for everyone. Such a complete denial of man, the overthrow of faith and traditional values, the suppression of freedom acquires the features of a “reverse religion” – outright Satanism. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus Christ, denouncing the false prophets, says: By their fruits you will know them. And these poisonous fruits are already obvious to people – not only in our country, in all countries, including for many people and in the West itself.

The world has entered a period of revolutionary transformations, they are of a fundamental nature. New development centers are being formed, they represent the majority – the majority! – of the world community and are ready not only to declare their interests, but also to protect them, and see multipolarity as an opportunity to strengthen their sovereignty, which means to gain true freedom, a historical perspective, their right to independent, creative, original development, to a harmonious process.

All over the world, including in Europe and the United States, as I said, we have many like-minded people, and we feel, we see their support. A liberation, anti-colonial movement against unipolar hegemony is already developing within the most diverse countries and societies. His subjectivity will only grow. It is this force that will determine the future geopolitical reality.”

Now I have no illusions about Vladimir Putin.  He is a cold-blooded killer.  He will use whatever means he needs to achieve his goals.  He was the architect of the Second Chechen War, a brutal conflict.  He is a Russian partisan.  He has no love for America.  And yet most of what I copied above from his speech is demonstrably true.  Our government is erasing normalcy from our society and substituting a sick twisted anti-human creed.  The family is denigrated and mocked.  Freedom is being erased as a hate crime.  Prosperity for most people is being outlawed.  Even Vlad the Impaler can point to us and name our sins.  They’re that mortally clear.

It’s a cold, kind of bleak day, but I found illumination in an old black and white movie and the words of a modern-day autocrat.  The United States has abandoned the principles that made it great.  It has broken faith with the people who fought for it and believed in it.  It remains to be seen if it can be prodded back on the high road again.  But at least I found a little clarity.

Unexpected Consequences of Irresponsible Actions

Returning to the subject of yesterday’s post, I was considering what kind of effects might be caused by a country sabotaging the valuable infrastructure of a country with which it was not in a state of war.  What immediately came to mind was reciprocation.  Currently a new pipeline is going into operation from Norway to Poland.  Would it surprise anyone if that pipeline were sabotaged?  Now maybe this isn’t something the Russians would want to do.  Maybe they have other fish to fry with the Poles.  But it seems to me that the US has moved into entirely new territory with the bombing of the pipelines and they should expect the Russians to respond in kind.

Now, maybe this is all according to plan.  Maybe the people running our foreign policy (and domestic policy) are looking for a response.  As I said yesterday, this may be a tail wagging the dog operation they’re running and they need a Russian reaction to provide a distraction from the economy during the mid-term elections.  If that’s the case they may be hoping for something soon and drastic.  If nothing happens then probably the CIA will be disappointed.  I’m sure they want acknowledgement for their wanton destruction.  Maybe a commendation.

But here’s the thing.  This is a different level of provocation than even the military aid we’ve given the Ukraine.  Even with the targeting information and advanced artillery we’ve provided to the Ukrainians the actual attacks have been through proxies.  The sabotaging of the pipelines was done by United States directly.  It was a non-military target and it was completely unrelated to the Ukraine conflict.  It will be answered.

Really the only question is when.  Supposedly the Russians are pretty savvy about injecting their actions into the politics of their adversaries.  After all, hacked by Putin is a byword of Democrat party fear.  What they might do is wait for the mid-term elections to conclude and then once the Democrats have been trounced and can’t benefit from the distraction, I imagine some kind of revenge might occur.  What it might be is hard to know.  I have no knowledge of the relative vulnerabilities of different sections of US infrastructure.

The most likely thing would be an underwater pipeline.  That is what’s known as poetic justice.  But it could be anything.  It might not be sabotage.  It could be a data dump based on some kind of espionage that would be especially embarrassing to the Biden government.  It could be a terror attack coordinated with a Mexican drug cartel.  After all the southern border is essentially wide open.  It could be almost anything.

But the point is the Biden administration has gone out of its way to slap Russia in the face.  Chances are there will be a response and chances are it will be an escalation.  My only hope is that innocent Americans aren’t hurt or killed in the process.  But this is what happens when the foreign policy of a superpower is put in the hands of Yale and Harvard goofballs.  Maybe in 2024 we can rejoin the community of responsible nations again.  Until then just pray it all doesn’t go nuclear.

What the Hell is Really Going On?

When I read about the Nord Stream sabotage, I was thinking that the CIA and the State Department were figuring a way to force the Europeans to back their play in the Ukraine.  After all, if there was no way to get gas to Europe except through the Ukraine pipelines then effectively, they would have to go along with beating Russia to get the gas back.  But suddenly it seems like there’s more going on here.

What it is, I’m not sure.  Will it be some kind of October Surprise to sway the Mid-Term election?  Will these maniacs go to the brink with Russia to try and win the mid-term elections.  Is Creepy Uncle Joe going to go on television before the election and tell us that war with Russia is imminent and the only way he can win that war is to have a united Congress to rubber stamp his every action in the war?  It’s hard to believe he would do something that crazy.  But then again what’s crazy nowadays?

But what else could be going on?  Could this really all be about not letting the Germans buy natural gas from Russia?  That seems absurdly trivial when questions of nuclear war are being considered.  Surely war and peace are at a much higher level of US foreign policy than commercial relationships between European nations even if one of them is Russia.  But that is the claim of some people.  That we are trying to prevent Europe from cozying up to Russia because we want to prevent anything interfering with our hegemony over the West.

All of these actions and motives are bizarre to say the least.  It no longer seems that our foreign policy is being run by people who are grounded in reality.  Brinksmanship in the Ukraine is the height of dangerous behavior.  Sabotaging critical infrastructure that our closest allies depend on for the energy supply for their homes and businesses seems insane.  Having Joe Biden repeatedly state that the United States would get into a shooting war with China over Taiwan when the Chinese weren’t making an issue of it is just plain stupid.  But maybe that’s the point.  Maybe very stupid people are running our foreign policy now.  Maybe this is the best they could come up with to stave off the collapse of their “new world order” which seems to be coming apart at the seams everywhere we look.

After all, the EU is seeing defections from their immigration policy in Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and now also in Sweden and Italy.  The BRICS and some other countries have rejected Washington’s embargo of Russian petroleum and mineral products.  And more and more Americans are tired of the madness that’s been going on for the last two years over COVID, crime and the destruction of the economy.

So if this is the Elites flailing around to distract us from the shambles they’ve made of everything, then my only fear is that we may not survive to see them rejected at the polls.  After all it’s still about forty days until election day and at this rate they’ll have triggered nuclear Armageddon and a Great Depression simultaneously before they can be fired.

Is this all just Joe playing “tail wagging the dog” or are these people so delusional that they think they can do any crazy damn thing and get away with it?  Maybe it’s too much to hope to know what’s really going on but I assure you I’m not the only one thinking that we’ve descended into a mad house.  The slogan that the Republicans should use for both 2022 and 2024 is, “Had enough yet or do you want the crazy to keep going?”

Both Nord Stream Pipelines Have Been Sabotaged

Apparently underwater sabotage has rendered both Russian Nord Stream gas pipelines inoperable for the foreseeable future.  This is going to make the current energy situation in Germany and Central Europe untenable.

Theories on who is responsible range from the Russians to the Ukrainians to the German Greens to the CIA.  You know, I can begin to see how this crisis is beginning to spin out of control.

I am reminded of the Obama era operative who said “Never let a crisis go to waste.”  It looks like someone has decided to push this thing into the crisis range.  Maybe it will force Germany to reactivate their nuclear power plants.  Or maybe it will cause a humanitarian crisis of mammoth proportions that will plunge the people of the European Union into revolt against their elites.  But either way they’re about to find out how windmills and solar panels work in a European winter.

We shall see.
