RINO-ectomy or Creative Spite

So, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy stated pretty openly that at a Republican House Conference being held this week he will allow Liz Cheney to be replaced by Rep. Elise Stefanik.  Now don’t get me wrong.  I’ve heard nothing but bad things about Stefanik.  She’s just another Congress critter that cares nothing about me or you.  But she knows which side her bread is buttered on and that Donald Trump is the one handing out the butter.  So, she’ll keep her mouth shut and not help the Democrats when they’re going after our side.

To me, the only thing that makes any of this interesting is that I am a great adherent of the concept of the vendetta.  Basically, it’s a genetic and cultural predisposition.  The idea of just revenge or even spite is one of my primary motivations nowadays.

I’m of the opinion that we are not likely to prevail over the progressives in the federal elections ever again.  But what we can do is punish the quislings who got us here.  People like Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney and Lisa Murkowski are our enemies.  They have damaged this country and will continue to do so for as long as they are allowed to represent us.  Kicking them out of office is a sacred duty but more than that, it is a schadenfreudian delight.  Since they’re not technically Democrats they aren’t going to be offered the sinecures that get handed out to friends of the Deep State.  Liz will have to settle for a spot on a crappy neo-con think tank and maybe some face time on CNN.  Lisa Murkowski will be forced to become a deck swab on an Alaskan king crab trawler.  And Mitt Romney will become a male model for dental implant commercials.  And that is as it should be.  These are terrible people.  Discomfiting them is a good thing.  And if I get a good laugh when it happens that’s just karma doing its job.

I’m under no illusions that we have the votes that will be needed to beat the Democrats at the ballot box.  They have already shown that they will commit massive fraud to get their way.  Until we are willing to say no to their unconstitutional tyranny, we will continue to lose ground in the culture wars and everywhere else.

But at least, at the very bare minimum, we must not let traitors and grifters give away our votes in the halls of Washington.  George Bush I, George Bush II, John McCain, Mitt Romney and if they’d had their way, JEB! Bush were who we were given to be our representatives in the White House.  They were supposed to be conservatives.  It only takes a cursory look at their records to know that not only weren’t they conservatives, they don’t even know what conservative means.

I think the House conference meeting is Wednesday.  If it’s on CSPAN I’ll make a point to watch it live.  I’ll pop some corn.  It should be wonderful.  And next year when all ten of the house reps who voted to impeach President Trump, are up for re-election I’ll be watching to see how they do in their primaries.  If they lose in their primaries, I’m not particularly interested in whether the Republicans retain the seat.  I mean, it would be nice but as I said I don’t think we’ll vote our way out of this.  But just knowing that these clowns will have to get jobs will bring a smile to my face.  And it will be good for our politics.  Who knows?  Maybe someday the Republicans will become known as the formerly stupid party.

The COVID Curse is Over

Today I spent the day with my family.  No masks, no outdoor seating, no nothing.  I spent the day with my children and their families.  I spent hours with my grandchildren and I caught up with them about school and their hobbies and other things like what they were reading.  And with the two youngest I played a game of catch that went on for a couple of hours.  It was exhausting and wonderful.  And then we had a grand meal.  My son in law let my daughter relax for Mother’s Day and went outside and grilled steaks and salmon and we had a feast.  And then we had some excellent Italian pastries and coffee.

And I sat down after dinner and talked to my oldest grandson who is a junior in high school and asked him about his math classes and he said he is doing well in calculus.  He is much like me and I think he will end up in engineering or computer science.  And we discussed some of his other activities.  He has a 3D printer that I funded and I was glad to hear that he has learned how to replace the parts that wear out and make the adjustments needed to keep it working well.  Later I spoke with my daughter and she told me about the straight A’s her son has been getting in math.  And that made me happier than anything.  I guessed that he would have academic abilities but I was afraid he would also have inherited from me a disregard for studying.  I always depended on just raw ability to barely squeak by without doing anything but last-minute cramming.  Hearing that he had picked up some discipline was music to my ears.

And I spoke with my next oldest grandson.  He had grown a lot over the last year and now was almost as tall as his older brother.  And we talked about his school sports.  He loves playing soccer and basketball and now he’s added tennis to his games.  He was happy about being able to play again now that school was returning to normal.  I’ve seen him play and he has great enthusiasm and talent.  And he was so personable and cheerful.  That was personal growth and great to see.

The other two boys, the little guys were live wires and played and bickered with each other and gave me the chance to chide them about their outlaw behavior.  We talked about dinosaurs and giant ants and ninjas.  Of course.

I knew I missed all these things during this insane lockdown but now I remembered exactly what they felt like.  Camera Girl and I were smiling all the way home and we went on and on about how good it was to see everyone and how we would have a pool party for the kids with a barbecue very soon.

And I think how much we were robbed of in the last year.  Our children were cheated out of a year of their education.  Our neighbors were cheated out of the businesses they had built up over the course of a lifetime.  Our country was cheated out of the freedoms that have been the birthright of this country for centuries.  And all of us were cheated out of the government we voted for.

All of this was done under the false pretense that COVID was a deadly plague that threatened everyone.  We were lied to and bullied into giving up all these things and then humiliated into walking around with a pathetic mask that was supposedly keeping away the invisible invader.  We had to forego human contact with those we cared for the most.  Even those who actually did die from the virus had to die alone in a hospital surrounded by masked strangers.

But now we see that the masks did nothing and all the same people lived or died regardless of these useless gestures.  In Florida the people were freed from the masks and other restrictions and they had lower death rates than New York where everyone remained locked down for a year.  And now maybe people will start to wake up from this charade and hold responsible those who perpetrated this fraud on us.  Newsom and Cuomo and Fauci are the names that stand out.  But there are dozens of governors and mayors who locked up their people and enjoyed their little reign of terror.  They locked up innocent people but let the BLM gangsters have free rein to form mobs of people and terrorize the hard-working people of their states.

So, the nonsense about COVID has stopped scaring people.  Now we have to decide if we are going to get our lives back the way they were.  If we can’t do that then we’re slaves here and should look around for a better place to live.

09MAY2021 – OCF Update – Happy Mother’s Day

It’s going to be quiet on the site today because I’ll be gone for a chunk of the day eating delicious unhealthy food with the most important people in the universe, my descendants.  After all their relationship to that strangest of all human beings, me, ensures that I find them infinitely fascinating.  I will impose myself on them and assume the role of “one of the boys.”  Whatever they want to do I’ll join in.

And I’ll be a charming guest for their parents too.  But it is a well known fact that grandchildren are much more fun than children, especially after they become parents.  So that won’t be as fruitful an activity to my mind.  And I’ll be nice to Camera Girl.  But really that’s her children’s job today.  It’s right there in the title of the day.  But I’ll still be nice to her.  She deserves it.

The day has dawned and it is sunny, butterflies were fluttering by and the stupid blue birds are complaining that once again they were dispossessed of the houses I built for them by birds with more grit and verve.  I intend to go out now and perambulate in the Fields of the Lord and restore my faith in creation as a whole if not in the so-called pinnacle of it.

I hope all of you have a good day with your families and I’ll contribute something today when I can.

08MAY2021 – OCF Update

Spring is moving along nicely.  Camera Girl has been working industriously in the Fields of the Lord.  Vegetables and flowers will abound and the lord of the manor rejoices at her industry.

Mother’s Day will feature Camera Girl being hosted at her older daughter’s home and all of us enjoying a barbecue of epic proportions.  First real family get together in over a year!

I was watching this video on chaos theory and how it relates to the Mandelbrot Set.  If you have a mathematical bent check it out.

And as stated the hummingbirds have returned from Capistrano.

Putting Things in Perspective – Part 1 – Revolutionary War Analogy

When people on our side talk about what’s going on today, they sometimes make analogies to historical situations.  The circumstances in 5th Century BC Athens, Late Republican Rome, the American Revolutionary War, the American Civil War and even Stalinist Russia are all used as analogies for our present-day situation.  But in order to be helpful it’s just as important to understand clearly how our situation differs from these analogies.  Otherwise, decisions will be made based on faulty thinking.

I don’t intend to make an exhaustive comparison between our situation and all these others but I would like to make a few points that I think are useful.

The first comparison I’d like to make is to the American Revolution.  The point of comparison is that in each case there is a side that is chafing under misrule and denial of freedoms.  And especially since these freedoms were specifically enshrined in the Bill of Rights, we look at our situation and feel that maybe the same remedy applies to us.  But let’s look at how our situation differs.

When the Americans kicked the British out of Boston, they were able to make it stick.  England was thousands of miles away across an ocean.  Boston was a port town that possessed a shipbuilding industry and a well-established economy that drew on a well settled countryside that had been growing and expanding for over a hundred and fifty years.  And the outcome of the French and Indian War meant that the American Colonials understood the power of their own military forces versus what troops the British were willing to commit.  And their participation in these earlier wars had made the settlers less dependent on the British for military aid.  Finally, New England was far from an inviting place for the British to fight a war.  The cold snowy winters and forested landscape would provide enormous logistical problems to an occupying army.  That explains why Boston was free of British encroachment throughout the war.  The British probably assumed that they would be able to hold onto at least some areas of the colonies after a protracted war but the Americans also knew that once some areas, like New England, were free of the British, over time the cost of holding onto the others would become increasingly expensive.  So, for the colonists it was a war of wills with time on their side.

Now look at our situation.  Our enemies have reinforced possession of both coasts of the United States including the national capitol and all the major ports except on the Gulf of Mexico.  They have at least as many citizens on their side as we do and they also own the banking system and many of the largest manufacturing corporations.  They also control the communication companies and currently command the military apparatus and all the intelligence services.  They are not going away.  To imagine that we can free ourselves from their grasp quickly and easily is delusional.  They will use all available means to maintain control over the institutions that define life in the United States.  The Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare systems are as fundamental to normal life in the Red States as they are to the Blue.  The banking system is so important to the commercial life of the country that it is hard to see how we would ever disentangle ourselves from it.  But if we were to try to separate from the Blue States, that’s exactly what we would have to do.

So, in the sense that our enemy is not half a world away and not limited as to how much military might it can dedicate to a war, we are much worse off than the colonists.  But in terms of what kind of war we can fight we have much more flexibility and therein lies our best hope.  We do not have to put troops in the field.  We are looking to win hearts and minds and demoralize our enemies.  In that sense what we are attempting is a lot more like what Gandhi and the Indians did to force the British to abandon their Indian Empire.  We are working to destroy the legitimacy of the Progressives’ right to abrogate the constitutional freedoms we have been deprived of.

The specifics of this kind of strategy are figuring out what tactics add cost and misery to the lives of your opponents.  And these tactics will have to change whenever and wherever conditions change.  This type of war is completely familiar to the Left.  This is the Alinsky playbook.  They have used it to dismantle every organization and power structure in this country and make them their own.  We will have to do the same thing in reverse.

In a way our ability to use the Alinsky rules will actually be easier than what the Left originally did in the sixties.  If we can coordinate with Red State governments and protect the protestors from the federal agencies then it should be possible to neutralize federal control over large swaths of the country and return normalcy to those areas.  For instance, suppose Dementia Joe gets the Supreme Court to legitimize gun grabbing.  A countermeasure might be for the governor of a Red State to deputize the whole population as peace officers and allow them ownership of assault rifles as a perk of that office.  Another example, if banks start de-platforming the deplorables the states could punish those banks until they stop.  And if that fails the state can form a bank that can take the place of these enemy institutions.

So, whereas the analogy of our situation to the Revolutionary War is not particularly helpful the common underlying problem in both cases does still have real world solutions.  Just different ones.

Praying Mantises, Children’s Books and Pa – Part 2 – The Arrival

Preying Mantises, Children’s Books and Pa Part-1

Well, the little buggers arrived two days ago and unharmed apparently.   Some hatched out today so I held onto a few and attached the egg cases to tree and shrub branches around the perimeter of the yard.

They’re minuscule.

But I’ll try to feed them by raising fruit flies and letting them feed on them.  Here is my fruit fly attractant.

The game is on!

33.33% of 2021 is Gone Down the Chute and What Do We Have to Show for It?

Time certainly flies when you’re being tortured by an evil cabal of troglodytic Morlocks.  But here we are at the one third mark of 2021.  And if you’re in the noticing and opining business, which I am, then it’s time to see if there’s anything worth noticing and if there is, then it’s time to opine about it.

The first thing I notice is that nobody on the Right believes a thing being said by D.C. or the Media or the rest of the cabal.  Now, I’m not counting quislings like Liz Cheney or Mitt Romney as “on the right.”  And there is a pretty general feeling that Cheney and Romney are going to get theirs as soon as the voters get a shot at them.  In fact it’s so bad that even the spineless jellyfish in the Republican Congressional Caucus are rethinking their vote a few months ago to retain Cheney as a “Republican Leader” (boy, there’s an oxymoron).  Word is Liz will be booted out of the leadership at the end of the month and some other spineless jellyfish with slightly less stupidity will be enthroned.  Romney was booed long and loudly at a Utah Republican meeting.  He missed being censured by the Utah Republican party by a pretty close margin.  But I want to believe that when he’s up for re-election someone a lot better than that empty suit will have the initiative to challenge him in a primary.  That would be worth the price of admission.

So getting back to the point.  Nobody with even a flicker of intelligence is talking about bipartisanship or compromise or even avoiding the worst excesses of the Democrat control of all the levers of government.  If somehow the Democrats fail to do all the horrible things they say they want to do, then fine.  But if and or when they make DC the 51st state or pack the Supreme Court or make 40,000,000 illegal aliens, citizens I’m not going to be surprised.  I’m not going to despair.  For a lot of people those things happening are a given.

What we’re looking at is what are people from our side doing.  What is Ron DeSantis doing and what might he do when Dementia Joe sets his stormtroopers on the citizens of Florida?  Several states are passing legislation to protect their people from attacks on the 2nd Amendment and all the transgender madness.  Several states are already starting to prosecute Social Media for discriminating against the Right.  Even small things like the Basecamp furor and the retreat by Coke and Delta in the face of boycott threats are the beginnings of action from our side.

So far nothing tremendous has happened.  But I detect momentum is lacking on the Left.  As Portland and Minneapolis burn no one on the Right cares except to laugh at the pain of the idiots living there.  If 2021 has another summer of riots it will do more for our side than theirs.  Dementia Joe owns it and he is welcome to it.  Our side is consolidating control over the Red States and looking for ways to separate our lives from the madness that the Left “says” they want for themselves.  Our answer should be, “Be our guest, wallow in your depravity, just stay on your side of the line.”  As the Red States continue to open up their economies after learning their lessons from the COVID fraud hopefully the Blue States will continue the mask pantomime and aggravate their citizens even more.

One third through this year I’d say some progress has been made toward coming to grips with the cold civil war we have going on.  Some progress doesn’t mean enough progress though.  I am far from satisfied with where we are.  But I will say there is definitely a sense that the wake up has happened to a large extent.  What remains to be seen is if leaders will emerge who have the brains and guts to seize the moment and free us from the oligarchs.  Let’s see what it’s like after August (66.66%).

05MAY2021 – American Greatness – Post of the Day – Oligarchy, and Remedies by Angelo Codevilla

This is a short post by Codevilla asserting that before we can act effectively against the usurpers in Washington, we must first acknowledge that the Republic as we knew it is already extinguished and replaced by the oligarchy that controls both the bureaucracy in Washington and the globalist corporations that work hand in glove with them.  But once we do acknowledge this reality, we can take effective action to organize like minded people to start effecting a different future for ourselves that doesn’t revolve around the oligarchic domain.

Codevilla points in the direction of the governors of red states beginning to nullify the dictates of the federal government where they overstep constitutional limits.  But he does not go into any detail as to how this will happen and what level of resistance the federal government will offer.  But I think we all are beginning to see that some extremely brave men will be needed to cross a kind of Rubicon at some point in the not-too-distant future.  If not, then the idea of escaping the oligarchy will be just a fantasy.

I find it is becoming increasingly easy to hear the same ideas being stated by different types of writers.  Codevilla is an academic.  But plenty of ordinary people and plenty of pundits are beginning to coalesce around the idea that a rejection of the regime in Washington is what is already happening.  The biggest question is when will a serious collision happen and who will win?

Apocalypse Basecamp: The Comedy

Casey Newton of “The Verge” publishes the details of the Zoom meeting where the woke employees have a meltdown when a somewhat conservative manager disputes their definition of white supremacy.  It’s hilarious and maddening at the same time.  The only sad point is that the conservative manager also resigned from Basecamp.  I take that as a definite negative for the whole thing.  If he had stayed it would have been the cherry on the float.

Well, just read the thing.  Understand that Newton is extremely sympathetic to the wokesters and so take that into account with respect to any statements of opinion on motives or judgement.

Here’s the summation at the end.

“But as much as the conversation about Basecamp’s moves has been framed as “politics,” it seems important to remember that the entire affair began when a third of the company — not all of whom are among the 20 who have departed so far, by the way — volunteered to help the company become more diverse and equitable. It was only when their committee dug a skeleton out of the company closet — that list of names — that Fried and Hansson moved to shut the whole thing down.

“It was actually a positive thing we were doing,” one employee told me, marveling at the chaos that had followed. “We had identified the problem, how it happened, and vowed not to do it again. It was a company doing exactly what it should do. The founders refused to lead, and so the company was doing it itself.”

Another employee said they had been thrown by the fact that the founders, after years of telling employees that they were part of an elite chosen few who were good enough to work at Basecamp, would get rid of them so easily.

“They just want to build cool shit all day,” the employee said. “They don’t want to deal with people, which is something you have to do as a manager … Jason and David just threw us away.””

I was saddened to read that not all of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council has resigned.  That, I see, as the real tragedy.  But hopefully the owners are wiser for their sad experience and will stamp out any sparks of wokeism if the appear again.

I think the lesson for the rest of us is that even non-conservatives recognize that a woke presence in a business is poison and unless you suppress its activities it will destroy your company right before your eyes.

The Trouble with Being a Pundit

I follow Curtis Yarvin’s blog posts on his substack called graymirror@substack.com.  Yarvin is a neo-reactionary.  What that means is he believes democracy will be replaced by some kind of monarchy.  But the monarchy he imagines is more like a corporate state where the king is like a CEO.

Yarvin’s posts are enormously long and convoluted.  But he started his latest post with a short discussion of what he says are the three kinds of dissidents.

“There are three kinds of dissidents: (a) anons, (b) pundits who still care what people think, and (c) outsiders who DGAF. All these groups are great; real greatness can be achieved in any of them; and good friends I have in each. But each has its problems.

The problem with (c) is that it’s too hard. It takes a lot of luck to get there and stay there. It’s quite inconsistent with doing anything else with your life—and this under conditions of very mild repression, historically speaking. And the more you succeed, the more dangerous your position becomes. I would recommend the outside way to only one kind of young person: le trustafarian. And it has to really be your calling.

The problem with (a) is that it’s too easy—nothing binds you to reality. The dissident anons create the best art, yet never without some slight sense of playing tennis without the net. Yet this complete, even excessive, artistic freedom is balanced by challenges in opsec that compare only to general aviation. If you are not meticulous enough to fly a Cessna, you are not meticulous enough to shitpost.

The problem with (b) is that you are always policing yourself. Not only do your readers never really know what you really believe—you never really know yourself. In practice, it is much easier to police your own thoughts than your own words. When choosing between two ideas, the temptation to prefer the safer one is almost irresistible. This is a source of cognitive distortion which the anons and outsiders do not experience. (Though anons do suffer something of the opposite, a reflex to provoke.)”

I found this discussion of the problems with the various types of dissidents very helpful.  And it goes a long way to explaining why mainstream pundits are so careful.  There is so much fear of being canceled that they’d rather stand a hundred yards away from the edge of the Overton Window than risk being called a racist.  Surprisingly Tucker Carlson has been an exception.  He comes remarkably close to sounding like someone from the Dissident Right.

What this brings out is the fact that the pundits are aware of these lies.  They know the truth but are afraid to say it out loud.  Which is why as soon as the Overton Window shifts, as it did when Donald Trump spoke out against illegal immigration, these pundits will eventually move forward to somewhere slightly behind the edge.  And that is a cause for hope.  When a time comes when a man who is not afraid to speak the truth gets a platform that the Left can’t dynamite, we will see if the American people are ready to be led in a new direction.

Another interesting thing that Yarvin discusses is what it would take to beat the Deep State at its own game.  Being a monarchist Yarvin sees the solution as the appearance of a strongman.  He hedges a little about what that would look like.  But the names he mentions as historical examples are Cromwell, Caesar and Charlemagne.  Well, none of those names were peaceful characters who worked within the system and made small changes around the edges.  So, he’s talking revolution.  That’s bold talk.  But he says anything less will fail because the Left isn’t kidding around.  That’s something to think about.  His proof is what happened to Donald Trump.  Trump had popular support.  So, the Deep State worked around that support and used a combination of fraud and propaganda to retake the government.  It does show that it will take more than popular support to eliminate the Deep State.  It will take force.  To purge the intelligence agency will take force.  To purge the armed forces will take force.  Not violence but power politics.  You will have to buy off powerful people and then get rid of those powerful people next.  Machiavelli will be the rule book for an operation like this and plenty of people will end up in prison even if things go well.

So, do I think it will take a strongman?  Yeah, I guess I do.  Do I think it would require the end of the republic?  Currently I’m not sure.  I hope not, but I’m not sure.  If a leader arises to displace the Left, would he feel safe only leading for eight years?   Wouldn’t he fear revenge once he left office.  Is it too late for republicanism?  That’s the question.
