Michael Anton Analyzes the Impeachment Strategy and Summarizes the Possible Outcomes

In his sixty two hundred (!) word essay “The Empire Strikes Back” Michael Anton narrates the Deep State and Democrat controlled Media’s Ukraine-gate maneuver and how it’s supposed to justify impeachment and removal of President Trump.  Suffice it to say it is ponderous to read through the machinations they are going through to justify their treason and depressing to realize what nakedly illegal practices of their own they are trying to protect with the smokescreen of impeachment.  The Deep State and the Elites feed from the trough of federal spending that is funneled to lawless countries like the Ukraine.

I won’t attempt to even summarize his essay.  If you have an interest in these matters, which I do, you might read it.  But I’d like to quote some ideas from his conclusion.  Anton thinks that it is unlikely that even the craven Senate Republicans would be stupid enough to convict the President.  But if they did, he had this to say about the consequences:

“And it might. It worked against Nixon. It almost worked against Reagan. But let’s be clear: if it works this time, there are only three possible outcomes:

First, deplorable-Americans will meekly accept President Trump’s removal, in which case the country as a self-governing republic will be finished; the elite coup will have succeeded, their grip on power cemented. With all due respect to the vice president, this is not the way—these are not the people on the backs of whom—he should wish to enter the Oval Office. And I am confident he will not.

Second, deplorable-Americans will revolt at the ballot box and punish the elites in a series of elections that put in power serious statesmen intent on rooting out corruption and reestablishing democratic accountability.

Or, third, deplorable-Americans’ attempt to set their government aright via ballots will not avail, as it has not so often in the past; they will realize that it has not, conclude that it never will, and resolve by any means necessary to get out from under the thumbs of people who so obviously hate them and wish to rule them without their consent.”

That third outcome is the Dissident Right’s refrain, “we can’t vote our way out of this.”

And as to the outcome for the Senate Republicans if they did convict the President:

“Oh, and let’s also be clear about something else: if the Republicans “collude” with this sham and force the removal of a president whose approval rating within his party hovers north of 90%, and whose voters scarcely understand—much less agree with—the “case” against him, they will destroy the party forever. I don’t often make predictions, because I’m not good at it, but this one is easy. They will have removed all doubt that they are anything but ruling class apparatchiks, adjuncts, and flunkies of the administrative state from which they take orders.

And let none of them dare gaslight us with the trite dismissal that Trump’s removal would not overturn the 2016 election results because the president’s replacement was also elected. Trump’s intraparty enemies hate him, and wish to be rid of him, precisely because he is not one of them, because he stands for, and represents, something fundamentally different. Getting rid of him is, for them, a way to get back to business as usual. But there is no going back. A few of them in safely anti-Trump states or districts may survive the president’s removal but the vast majority will not. A new party—a Trumpian populist-nationalist party—will arise from the Republican Party’s ashes. More blue-collar in economic orientation and less in hock to coastal and financial elites, it will do a better job of attracting Democrats and independents—possibly pointing the way to the first real national majority coalition since the Reagan era. And that new party will not welcome the traitors, who will have to make do with contributorships on CNN and MSNBC. Assuming any slots are available.”

This assessment seems quite likely.  And the Senator I’d most enjoy seeing bounced out of his seat is Mitt Romney.  I would hope that Utah would enact a recall law specifically to remove him if he were stupid enough to aid in the removal of a popular president.  In fact, even if the conviction is unsuccessful, if Romney votes for it, I hope the people of his state remove him for that alone.

Anton worked for the Trump White House in addition to being an academic.  He is almost uniquely positioned to discuss the reality of our present situation.  What I find interesting is that even a mainstream and serious commentator such as Anton is now pointing to the apocalyptic realities of what would happen if the Uni-party Establishment decides they can overturn the 2016 election results by removing a popular president.  What that tells me is that the intelligentsia on the actual right has reached the same boiling point as the rest of us.  When a policy wonk joins the Deplorables it won’t be long before the pitchforks and the torches start showing up on the scene.

A Convincing Critique of Free Market Capitalism

Another Friday, another podcast by the Voice of Saruman.  This week the ZMan’s talk was a condemnation of Free Market Capitalism or as he characterized it “Marketism.”  Now, I’m far from an adherent to all of the ZMan’s opinions but I think it would benefit even the most strident libertarian to listen to this argument.

In my youth I was a pretty strong adherent to the idea that whatever I built was my own business and the government had no right to tell me how I could run it.  But after witnessing the stalinist policies of Silicon Valley and their cronies in the rest of big business I’m perfectly willing to see the Department of Justice crush them if for no other reason than to pay them back for the damage they’ve done to regular people that ran afoul of their twitter mobs and sjw finks.

But I digress.  Forget the ZMan’s other dissident right beliefs.  Listen to his arguments and examples.  He makes a whole lot of sense.  Capitalism is not a religion it’s a tool.  If it doesn’t serve the needs of the people then it’s a bad tool and needs to be fixed.

22NOV2019 – American Greatness Post of the Day – Attack of the Groypers – Christopher Roach

The Dissident Right has been abuzz for weeks about the “Groypers” and their jabs at Charlie Kirk of TPUSA.  Mr. Roach has a good summary of the situation and a pretty even handed take on the facts.  Seems like some progress has been made in the last decade or so resisting the astro-turfing of the Establishment Right.  A good article to read if you’re interested in what’s going on in the culture war.

Bronze Age Mindset – A Book Review

When Bronze Age Mindset (BAM) came out last year I heard a little bit about it at various sites.  When Michael Anton reviewed the book back in August I became interested and decided to read it.  When the author (Bronze Age Pervert or BAP for short)  published a response to Anton in October I reminded myself to buy it.  Now I’ve read it and I am trying to get my opinion into some kind of an orderly form.  But unfortunately, BAM isn’t that kind of a work.  It’s a mixture of philosophical treatise, civilizational diatribe, atavistic lament and fraternal advice.  One thing is for sure.  BAP wants this world to melt down hard enough so that he can securely raise the black flag and start slitting throats.

As has been noted previously by Anton, BAP is in at least part agreement with Nietzsche.  BAP reviles our age for its complete lack of heroic opportunities.  He believes that for at least a portion of modern men life in a modern democratic state is a death sentence.  A large part of the first part of the book describes his comparison of modern life to the life of the warriors of Bronze Age Greece as embodied in the Homeric works and the military dictatorship in Sparta.  Along the way he expends enormous vitriol decrying the modern world and its feminists, neutered males (bugmen), endless bureaucracy, politically correct institutions, slave-driving lifestyles and the generic ugliness of modern life.  He despises democracy as a false equivalency.  He believes in the superiority of the alpha male and his right to rule over the rest of society.

BAP writes this diatribe in a clipped version of English that uses internet abbreviations and leaves out definite and indefinite articles at random.  This doesn’t make it too difficult to read along but to my ear it is affected.  Toward the end of the book he lapses into grammatical English and is obviously very literate.

As for the pervert in his name (BAP), he does seem to espouse at least some kind of homoerotic sensibility but he seems to describe it as not a homosexual attraction but an appreciation of male physical perfection.  Either way for me it’s off-putting.  Also, he thinks that the seamiest parts of the underworld with its pornography and prostitution and other perversions is important and men like him are meant to delve into it and take possession of it for some redemptive purpose that involves destroying the bugmen order.

The book is uneven and ranges from poetic to almost psychotic.  Some of it is either humorous fantasy or the author believes in things that are obviously untrue.  For instance, he claims that Laotian is the same language as the dialect of Spanish spoken in Chiapas Mexico.

Toward the end of the book he talks more realistically about what a non-bugman can do to exist in the nightmarish post-normal world we find ourselves in.  Here he is addressing the non-pirate, non-superman part of the population that have jobs and families.  Some of the advice is actually very sensible and useful.

All in all, I found the book interesting.  He has some insights that even a normie such as myself finds resonant.  Undoubtedly the book is uneven and at times bizarre but it has valid points to make and it speaks to a part of every normal man who finds himself marooned in the modern Hive and wonders how we got here and how we get out.  It’s not for all tastes but if you’re interested in another take on the modern world this might be interesting to you.

FISA Court Veteran Opines on the IG ‘s Report

Francey Hakes, a former assistant U.S. attorney weighs in on the seriousness and the likelihood that abuse of power was involved in the FISA warrants used against the Trump campaign figures.  She has experience with the process having herself appeared before the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court during her career, presenting applications for counterterrorism and counterespionage warrants on a special detail to the Department of Justice Office of Intelligence Policy and Review.

Take a look.

17NOV2019 – OCF Update

It’ll be busy at work this week because I’m taking the whole Thanksgiving week off.  But I’ll try to do my part to make OCF an interesting site for my loyal readers.

Of course there is the last installment of ShatnerKhan 1 and the weekly Star Trek episode mockery.

And I’m just dying for some info to come out on Horowitz’s report or John Durham’s investigations.  It might have to wait until Thanksgiving week but I can always hope for something sooner.

I believe we’ll have to wait for the British General election in December for the rest of the Brexit saga but maybe something interesting will surface sooner.

The Fat Man will bring his inimitable review style and cinematic acumen to bear on the recent release of Ford v Ferrari.

I will have something to say about the Sony FE 100 – 400mm f/4.5 – 5.6 GM OSS telephoto lens.  In fact currently all the Photo of the Day selections beginning with the bald eagle today were shot with this lens.  This includes the “macro” dragonfly shots which are actually enormous crops of a much larger image.

I’ll have a review of Sturgill Simpson’s two most recent albums but unfortunately for Country Music fans there’s nothing there to look forward to.

So stay tuned.

The Silicon Valley Monopolies Must be Splintered and Wrenched Away from the SJWs

Back in 1982 the United States federal government decreed that American Telephone and Telegraph Company was a destructive monopoly and for the good of the country needed to be dismembered.  Their sin was that they were so big and successful that no other company would ever be able to successfully compete against them.  Now AT&T was a heavily regulated company and was controlled by a network of government regulations about how they did business and how they had to treat the American public.  In many places phone service was treated as an entitlement that not even non-payment by the consumer justified AT&T disconnecting the service.  And in the hundred plus years of service AT&T never once asked what the consumer’s politics, ethics or even criminal activities were.  They just wanted you to pay the bill every month.

In 2019 Facebook, Twitter, Google and Amazon are the phone company.  We talk to each other and sell things to each other and organize with each other over their networks.  And they are more than the phone company.  They are now also the equivalent of the newspapers, television networks, radio stations, movie theaters and more.  Now Amazon has become Sears and Kmart and even the grocery store, the hardware store, the bookstore, the drug store, the music store, the electronics store, the shoe store, the clothes store and almost every other retail establishment that has ever existed.  Other than a few megastores like Walmart and Home Depot no one can compete with Amazon.  The shopping malls and retail streets of every city and town in America have been emptied and shuttered by this business behemoth.

These companies are the very definition of monopolies that the anti-trust laws were written to guard against.  They cry out for some kind of action.  And if they had no other agenda than to make money by the tera-buck they would need to be busted up.  But that’s actually the smaller problem.

The real problem is that they have taken sides in the culture war and have indeed formed an overarching conspiracy to crush anyone and everyone who disagrees with their radical progressive agenda.  And their monolithic control allows them to banish anyone they disagree with from access to the audience needed to communicate, organize and resist the progressive narrative.  And even that’s not the worst of it.

They have joined forces with corporate America to literally destroy the lives and livelihoods of those they dislike.  With the help of social justice warriors on-line they can get a man fired from his job, SWAT-ed by the local police, have his guns confiscated, ejected from his bank and deplatformed from his own web-business.  So far, they haven’t been able literally throw you into a gulag but I’m sure they’re working on it as we speak.

So, imagine if back in the day AT&T or the local electric company or gas company had sent you a letter that said that because they didn’t like your politics or things you said they were turning off your service.  How long would it be before the Feds put the screws to that utility company and fined them until they desisted from discriminating against American citizens?

The Anti-Trust Division of the Department of Justice works for William Barr.  Barr works for President Trump and he works for me because I voted for him.  I want President Trump to tell Barr to take Amazon and bust it into a thousand pieces.  I want him to cut off all federal funds to Facebook, Google and Twitter and then fine those lousy cretins into bancruptcy for discriminating against non-progressives of all stripes.  I want him to investigate Pay Pal, Stripe, Wells Fargo, Chase Manhattan and any other financial institution that deplatformed any non-progressive businessmen just because they don’t like their politics or religious beliefs.

Sure, there are plenty of other things that the President needs to do but these things will strengthen his supporters, weaken his enemies, take money away from the Leftists and besides everything else it’s easy to do because it’s exactly what the law tells him he should do.  It’s low hanging fruit and it’s a no-brainer.  And besides everything else it will be fun.

So, do it!

Colin Kaepernick Punks Out

The NFL is desperate to show that they aren’t denying Colin Kaepernick the opportunity to be the superstar he knows he is.  But unfortunately, Kaepernick doesn’t intend to interrupt his crusade by having a football career.

https://www.breitbart.com/sports/2019/11/16/nfl-disappointed-at-kaepernick-for-not-appearing-at-workout/

Could it be that he really is a mediocre athlete and after three years of inactivity wouldn’t be able to compete at all at the NFL level?  He instead had his own work out for eight teams at a high school field where he could control the camera crew and the footage that would be released.  My guess is that even he knows he’s not good enough for an actual workout.

I read that Dallas Cowboy fans have deluged management of the team with declarations vowing to drop their support of the team if they sign Kaepernick.

I’m guessing that Colin wants a team to sign him to a contract where he will get paid not to play but to perform a kneeling act before each game,  sort of like the high priest of wokeness for the NFL.  Hey it’s their money.  Since I don’t have to watch the NFL anymore I hope they do sign him.  It’ll make the game suck that much more.

Is This Really It?

Don’t the Democrats have more than this for their Impeachment Circus?  Can they keep this going for more than a week?  If not, I think they’re going to be upstaged by whatever balloon mishaps occur during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  In the classic Seinfeld episode, I believe it was Woody the Woodpecker who suffered a puncture wound and deflated on top of Elaine’s boss Mr Pitt.  I’m sure at this point Woody has been retired in favor of some kind of trans-gender super hero but either way Pelosi et alia are going to have to come up with some kind of show stopper.  Perhaps they can perform a séance and have the ghost of Jeffrey Epstein accuse President Trump of strangling him in his New York jail cell.

Honestly, the only thing I can guess is that the DNC is so desperate for Creepy Uncle Joe to be the candidate that they had to do something crazy like this to stop the investigation into Hunter’s pathetic graft expedition in the Ukraine.  And I don’t see how this helps.  If there is anyone on the planet at this point unaware that Joe used his position to force a foreign government to cancel an investigation of his son’s shakedown activities it could only be among coma victims.

The good thing about this feckless farce is that it gives the Republicans the perfect center piece around which to campaign against them.  If they had any wit about them at all, they would seize on this as the embodiment of an infantile and malign force that possesses no positive qualities and is only meant to act as a brake (resistance) to an actual agenda.  Pushing for a border wall in light of the Cartels’ victory over the Mexican Army would be a winning strategy.

But I have little if any faith in the Republicans at this point.  They are only slightly less useless than Pelosi and her crew.  At the rate that the Republicans are retiring from the House it may soon be a strictly Democrat establishment.  It’s a pity.  It seems as if President Trump will be forced to do the whole thing by himself.

Well I’m actually very busy getting work done so that I can have some time off around Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I’m impatiently waiting on Horowitz’s report and the subsequent indictments by Barr’s staff but I haven’t the patience or interest in reading any of the half-witted descriptions by the desperate MSM propagandists of the side show that Schiff and Pelosi are attempting to sell.

So, unless Pelosi is going to do a geriatric strip tease or Schiff is prepared to perform an Aztec sacrificial slaughter on the steps of the Capitol, I’m going to have to decline paying any further notice to this sad non-spectacle.

But bring on the next crazy show by all means.  This one isn’t funny enough.  In fact, I think I’ll re-watch the Seinfeld episode.  Watching Mr. Pitt struggling with the deflating Woody the Woodpecker balloon was way funnier than this.  Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha.

Sara Carter Claims that Horowitz’s Report is Coming Out Before Thanksgiving

Not only that but it will recommend indictments including of James Comey.  And it includes exculpatory evidence that was withheld from Carter Page.

https://saraacarter.com/horowitz-report-will-be-damning-criminal-referrals-likely/

Well, if she’s right I only have to wait at most two weeks to drown in an ocean of schadenfreude.  She better be right or I’ll report her to the BBB (Better Blogging Bureau).

Read the article.  She has quotes of insiders who speculate how something like this will undercut Schiff and Pelosi in their use of Deep State informants as supposedly non-partisan witnesses.
