Poll Results: Biden Sucks

A Suffolk poll gives Dementia Joe a 38%/59% favorable to unfavorable ratio on job approval.

And that’s the good news.  From there it gets worse.

  • Nearly half of those surveyed, 46%, say Biden has done a worse job as president than they expected, including 16% of those who voted for him. Independents, by 7-1 (44%-6%), say he’s done worse, not better, than they expected.
  • Nearly two-thirds of Americans, 64%, say they don’t want Biden to run for a second term in 2024. That includes 28% of Democrats. Opposition to Trump running for another term in 2024 stands  at 58%, including 24% of Republicans.
  • Vice President Kamala Harris’ approval rating is 28% – even worse than Biden’s. The poll shows that 51% disapprove of the job she’s doing. One in 5, 21%, are undecided.

And of course everyone hates the Congress even more than the president but the surprising result is they hate the congressional Democrats significantly more than the congressional Republicans:

In the poll, Congress gets dismal ratings: 12% approve, 75% disapprove. Congressional Democrats have a 29% favorable rating; congressional Republicans 35%.

And that means the 2022 elections will be a bloodbath for the Dems:

If the election were today, those surveyed say, they would vote for their Republican congressional candidate over the Democratic one by 46%-38%, an advantage that would bode well for GOP hopes of gaining a majority in the House and the Senate.

So this poll has something for everyone who hates the Left.  Enjoy.

Hunter’s Laptop and Ashley’s Diary

It’s not hard to believe that the Bidens are the most dysfunctional and stupid people in Washington DC.  But call it my suspicious nature, it seems like a ridiculous coincidence that the famous Hunter laptop and the Ashley diary were both hot items during the 2020 election cycle.  Honestly, is there no end to the shenanigans that the Deep State and its various factions come up with?

It’s very reminiscent of the pizzagate gag.  The Dems come up with an atrocious story that would be unbelievable if it weren’t for how depraved people like the Clintons and Bidens are.  Then they use it as a trap to paint people on our side as conspiracy theorists.  But in this case I assume the intent was to entrap anyone who received the material and that way give the FBI an excuse to snoop in their computers looking for dirt.

Of course it’s possible Hunter and Ashley Biden are just the stupidest and most careless people living.  And that these blunders just reflect their moronic mentality.  But I have to say it flies in the face of the laws of probability.  Now it can’t be ruled out that intelligence agents tried to expose these documents in an attempt to warn the world just how horrible Dementia Joe and his mutant strain really are.  If that is the case they didn’t reckon with how equally stupid the public is and how shamelessly corrupt the media has become.

I guess the only good these documents will be is when the historians of the future look at them, they’ll be able to gauge just how corrupt our politics were.  Maybe a future Suetonius will write a “Lives of the Bidens.”  Then history can decide how Joe and Hunter stack up against Tiberias and Caligula.  Maybe he can throw the Clintons and Obamas in to add comic relief.

But all this weirdness can’t help but depress anyone considering the caliber of people that are “leading” America.  Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Kamala Harris, John Kerry.  It just goes on and on.  And I’m not even scratching the surface.  Think of the third tier of losers, General Milley, “Rachel” Levine, Pete Buttigieg.  It’s a virtual freakshow all the way down.

I guess I’m just whining but wouldn’t it be an amazing revolution if we could purge our politics of weirdos?  In the old days (pre-Clinton) just the hint of a sex or money scandal around a presidential candidate was the kiss of death.  Now it’s almost a form of endearment.  Maybe we can compromise.  Maybe the candidates can admit the whole gamut of sexual and monetary sins they’ve committed but swear a blood oath with their heads on the chopping block that while in office they promise to adhere in their official actions to the Ten Commandments.  I think that would go a long way to cleaning up the horror show we currently have on display in DC.  If nothing else, it would give much more interest and meaning to impeachment procedures.  And it would allow us to hire one new civil servant.  The Executioner.  But would he work for the Executive, Legislative or Judicial branch of government?  Decisions, decisions.

07NOV2021 – OCF Update – This ’N’ That

It’s been busy over here at the Compound.  We had the family together for a kid’s birthday party last night and all that entails.  It was a lively gathering featuring fake fossil dinosaur egg dissecting, laser tag, billiards and the traditional American pinata event.  I attempted to educate some of my descendants on the finer points of using a pool cue but the new method they adhered to involves holding it sort of like a javelin.  But they managed to have fun despite my pedagogic shortcomings.  It was nice to see this new generation of cousins making their own fun without the necessity of staring at a phone screen or drowning out their surroundings with some insipid music.  There’s still some hope for the future.

I’ve been glad to see that some of the folks on the site have contributed posts.  Just lately Neil and Tom and Jason and Chemist and the Fat Man have provided excellent content which I’m always in need of.  I’ll take this opportunity to repeat that any of the readers out there that has something he’d like to share should leave a comment or send me an e-mail to orionscoldfire@charterdotnet and let me know.  And it doesn’t have to have anything to do with politics.  Book, music and movie reviews are excellent topics.  Chances are it’ll fit right in with the spirit of how I run things and will add that much more interest to the site.  After all, even I get tired of listening to my fascinating words sometime.

Now that the Democrats were panicked by the 2021 elections into forcing the infrastructure bill through ahead of the “reconciliation” bill without the help of the “Squad,” I expect the pollsters to start claiming that now Joe Biden is incredibly popular again.  But let’s face it, gas is approaching $4 a gallon, food is outrageously expensive, people can’t buy the necessities they need and Christmas presents won’t be available for the holiday.  With all that and the vaccine mandates how could Dementia Joe not be an awfully popular guy?

Probably passing the infrastructure bill will remove the last bit of leverage that the Democrats have over Manchin.  Despite my earlier pessimism about it I now expect the reconciliation bill to die a merciful death over the Christmas recess and in January all those reps and senators will be trying to get reelected.  So that may be the end of Biden’s bill signing career.  I can hardly believe our luck.

I’ll have to say, the Democrat’s taking it on the chin in the elections and backing down from the reconciliation stance they took has cheered me up a lot more than I imagined it would.  Maybe it’s the holidays coming up and the death of the COVID panic that has me so happy.  But for whatever reason I just don’t seem as willing to spread the doom and gloom right now.  So, you’ll have to forgive me if I’m unpleasantly cheerful.  Expect to see more movie and book reviews coming up.  I’m in the mood to write some stuff more interesting than the depressing politics we’re surrounded by.  And I’ll continue my death march through season three of Star Trek.  Enjoy your Sunday.

Update 6:36 pm

I couldn’t resist adding this data point to Dementia Joe’s popularity poll

Poll              Date                Sample     Approve   Disapprove Spread

USA Today  11/3 – 11/5       1000 RV    38            59                -21

He is beloved.

Will 2022 Do Anything Substantive to Fix Our Government?

A year from now every congressman and a third of the senators will be up for re-election.  Also, a bunch of governors, attorneys general and state legislatures will be voted on too.  Based on the current horror show that Biden has concocted it seems pretty certain that the Democrats will lose at least the House and very probably the Senate too.  Now that’s a pretty good thing.  It would block any new radical legislation that Dementia Joe’s handlers have in mind.  It would block any Supreme Court justices that were as bad as Merrick Garland would have been.  It would limit the damage to executive orders that can be reversed.

But we’ve been down this road so many times before.  1994, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2010, 2016.  Every time we get some remarkable success in capturing or holding the Congress or the Presidency or both we just end up at best treading water or more likely losing ground.  So, the question I’m asking is will this time be any different?  And the answer is no.  Unless they’re willing to take drastic measures.

To my way of thinking the best path forward would be the following.  In 2022 and 2024 the Republicans should do whatever they can to win back the Congress and the Presidency.  That will require the swing states to clean up their voter fraud problem.  That is absolutely necessary.  They should also shore up as many state governments as they can control.  Then in 2025 the President and the Congress need to clean out the intelligence agencies of as much of the cabal as they can find.  Fire everyone who participated in the 2016 coup.  Likewise, they need to clear out the military of all the mutinous officers’ corps starting with General Milley.  Then they need to pass as much legislation as they can to dismantle the surveillance state starting with repealing the Patriot Act.  Of course, they’ll have to eliminate the filibuster but this will be a one-shot deal anyway.  Then while the Republicans have control of Washington, they need to pass a law that allows states to peacefully secede from the United States.  At that point we can divvy up the armed forces and the nuclear arsenal and settle the currency issues and say goodbye.  We’ll even donate John Roberts to the Blue States for their very own all progressive Supreme Court.

Of course, this sounds like a pipe dream but the beauty of it is that each step is legal, doable and leads to a state that can’t be undone in the next election cycle.  Of course, when I say doable, I mean that it can be done by competent and dedicated men.  Cleaning out the intel agencies and the armed forces will take people familiar with how these agencies work and the courage to challenge powerful and dangerous individuals.  Donald Trump wasn’t able to do that.  Whoever takes the White House away from the Democrats next is going to have to be ready to dismantle the Deep State or else he will fail the same as every other Republican before him.

05NOV2021 – OCF Update – photog’s Chores Day

We’ve had a decided break in the weather.  Each night dips slightly below the freezing point (27F to 31F) but each day is sunny and in the low fifties.  I’ve used this warning from the weather gods to finish up some of my more time and weather sensitive chores.  So today I mowed the grass.  That’s the last cut for the year.  Now it’s time to winterize the mowers and move the snow blower to the front of the shed and try it out.  I’ve already swept and filled the pool shed with all the pool furniture.

I’ve removed the gigantic air conditioner from the first floor window using these cool three wheeled rollers, a big yard cart and some bricks to move it without tweaking my back (which is key).  I felt like Pharoah’s  construction engineer moving monolithic basalt blocks to build the pyramid.  Well, maybe that’s an exaggeration but I did learn a thing or two from the riggers I used to hire to install the really heavy equipment when we needed it done carefully.  There’s nothing like dropping a twenty thousand pound custom chiller package to blow the project budget.  Watching those guys do their job with the minimum of power equipment was highly interesting.  It took an experienced old guy, several block and tackle set ups, 4X4 and 8X8 wooden “shims,”  heavy duty pry bars, and one or two young guys with unbelievably strong arms, legs and backs.  It truly is an art and not a science.

To say I was mowing the grass would be an exaggeration.  Mostly I was shredding leaves.  My more fastidious neighbors collect these shredded leaves and mulch them because they have “lawns.”  I have fields that are mostly covered with various grass-like vegetation.  Cleaning up leaves when you live on the leeward side of a forest is sort of delusional.  I make a last pass about this time of the year and stop thinking of the grass until it starts annoying me in late May.

I still have a card full of projects to do but the grandkids are coming tomorrow.  We’re hosting a birthday party and I’ll have chores for that and also I’m too lazy to do too many things all at once.

Today I sent off my Sony LA-EA3  and LA-EA4 adapters to a used photo equipment store.  This will mostly pay for the LA-EA5 adapter I intend to use with Sony A7 IV camera I intend to buy in January.  Looking at what I could have sold them for on eBay gave me a pang of sadness.  In fac the two of them would more than paid for the new adapter with something left over to add to my fund for the camera but fussing with eBay is something I hate doing.  And buying there is bad enough.  I hear selling is fraught with problems and real risk.  So half a loaf for me.

I enjoyed the gag of calling my town Dunwich.  I think I’ll make that a continuing saga.  I like spoofing on Lovecraft’s mythical New England.  Expect to see more eldritch horror and small town minutia in the future.

I promise to make up for chore day so stay tuned and I’ll produce some good stuff soon.

Congratulations to Tyler Cook on His Re-Election

The Portly Politico does his part to keep the tattered old flag from falling to the ground.  Bravo!

It’s inspirational to see someone on our side do more than just complain.  Every concrete thing we do is one step away from the cliff.  If you’ve got a moment go over to his site and leave a congrats as a comment.

Local Election Results in Dunwich

Living as I do in the mythical New England town of Dunwich, election results take a little longer than they do in the outside world.  What with eruptions of elder gods and eldritch horror of nonspecific origin popping up incessantly it takes the election committee quite a lot of time to count the white and black pebbles that we use for voting purposes.  I mean when they’re distracted, they lose count and have to start all over.  And then there are the disqualifications.  If one of the candidates is discovered to have webbed fingers or toes or gills during the mandatory examination, then everything has to stop while the unfortunate individual is burned at the stake or crushed under a door stacked with large smooth stones.  Lately they’ve switched completely to door crushing because of the greenhouse gases emitted by the stake burning procedure.  Time marches on.  Of course, the runner-up is glad, as long as he isn’t similarly non-conforming.

Well, the point is we finally have our results and they are pleasing.  The stupid party was resoundingly re-elected and the evil party was gratifyingly defeated.  I performed an exorcism rite complete with incantations from the Necronomicon (or was it Comic-Con?) and rendered all attacks by the power of darkness null and void (in other words I paid up my property taxes).  And now I can expect to enjoy another two years of quiet, efficient, demonic public service by the good people of the stupid party as they do their best to hold the powers of the evil party at bay.

I intend to continue attending the local Republican Party meeting and find out if I can get involved in some less painful volunteer services.  I’d like to work with the election committee and find out how the sausages get made.  And in fact, I’d also like to find out what other functions I can help out around town.  I may be trapped here in Dunwich for a few years so I might as well make the best of it.

Who knows, maybe I’ll become an adjunct lecturer at Miskatonic University in advanced perpetual motion engineering.  We all have to do our best to save the planet.  After all, both Greta Thunberg and Cthulhu are depending on us.

DeSantis Will Push for a Florida Agency to Police Election Fraud

It’s like he’s reading my mind.  Which I guess just means he’s doing his job.  This is right on the money.  Don’t wait for the fraud to cost you an election.  Arrest the perpetrators in the act and prevent the problem.  Imagine if Pennsyvania had had a law like this when those bozos covered up the windows and excluded the poll watchers.  The cops could have dragged them away to jail instead of allowing them to steal an election.

Why the hell aren’t the rest of the Republican governors copying this stuff?  We need forty nine other guys just like him.

What Could Be the Good of a Republican Win in a Purple State?

This morning there is jubilation among the normies.  “You see,” they say, “all we had to do was vote harder and all our problems would go away.”  It’s a comforting thought.  All’s right with the world.  But it’s two weeks until this election is certified and I’m sure mail-in ballots will continue to arrive right up until that day.  Just look at New Jersey.  Areas of Jersey that haven’t ever gone for a Republican did.  But the razor thin lead that Ciattarelli is clinging to will almost certainly be swept away in an avalanche of fraudulent mail-in ballots that even now are being conjured up somewhere in the dark recesses of the “Garden State.”

To my mind, the only way that a borderline state can be strengthened into a legitimate democratic entity is if the governor and the legislature take the steps to end voter fraud.  Mail-in voting must be ended or if it has to exist it has to be made honest.  And that would be no small thing to do.  Voter fraud, especially in the dysfunctional Democrat run cities is the magic bullet that the Left has found to finish off democracy in our country.  If the Right is too lazy or stupid to fix this thing then they deserve to lose.  The tragedy is that we are just as lazy and just as stupid as the idiots we have left our representation to.

So here is a good test case.  The republicans made a clean sweep in Virginia.  They took the governor’s mansion, the legislature and the attorney general’s office.  If they ever want to win these offices again and if they want to undo the damage of the last eight years, they need to abolish mail-in voting and they need to put in place strong safeguards against voter fraud and ballot box stuffing.  Poll watchers need to be able to see that voters are bringing valid identification and that no one is tampering with the ballot boxes after the fact.

Now, this is of course above and beyond the question of whether someone like Youngkin is actually a conservative.  I’ve heard him described as a Mitt Romney-type Rockefeller conservative.  If that’s the case it doesn’t much matter whether there’s an R or a D after his name.  He’ll just George W. Bush the people of Virginia to death while they stare in disbelief.

But at the least this should tell Georgia and Pennsylvania and Wisconsin that there is hope if they enact election reform.  If you care enough not to let criminals steal away your government then there is a hope of changing things.  That is the only hopeful thing I can take away from this off-year election.  That and the fact that all the Democrat Congressmen and Senators from red districts are probably scared silly by what just happened.  Maybe by some incredible miracle we’ll see the “reconciliation” bill die a deserved death and go into the mid-terms before Dementia Joe can steal the last of our money and freedom away from us.  Maybe that’s what I should ask from Santa Claus for Christmas.  Ho, ho, ho.

Election Day 20221 – Open Post – Leave Any Comments on the Elections Here

As much as elections have now become a sort of joke, I still didn’t want to miss any interesting goings on or thoughts.  So leave comments below and we can share the sad, comical or  ironic news or we can enjoy just plain schadenfreude depending on the outcomes and circumstances.

One thing for sure, if anyone listens to the network and cable coverage many false and stupid things will be heard.  But every once in a while something true sneaks through.  So pass along any items that strike you as interesting or entertaining.

9:18 PM Update

Youngkin (R) 1,249,276     54.5%
McAuliffe (D) 1,028,893     44.9%
Blanding (L) 15,175             0.7%

With 80% of the votes counted Youngkin should be a lock.  But who are we kidding?  This was exactly what went on in Pennsylvaina last year at this time   So let’s see what crap they pull later.

12:03 AM Update

The vote count has been held at 93% for about an hour so I guess that the fix will be in and we’ll have to wait until they can fabricate the requisite number of fake votes.  Interestingly, NJ has come out strong for the Republican governor candidate.  Can he overcome the fraud.  I’ll say unlikely.  Well I think I’ll call it.  When it comes to fake elections I find it unappealing to lose sleep.  So good night all.
