2021 Election Day Eve Thoughts

So, tomorrow I head off to vote.  We’ve got a bunch of local elections, everything from dog-catcher to Selectmen to School Board positions on ballot and I know why I’m voting for each of my choices.  And in my town, most or all of my candidates will win.  I live in a relatively rare place, a conservative New England town.  So, there is sense and satisfaction in getting out to vote in these local elections.

This will be the anniversary of the 2020 Election Day.  Well, sort of.  The whole Tuesday after the first Monday in November thing means the actual date varies but close enough.  Looking back on that night and how I watched an election stolen in real time reminds me why I no longer consider this a legitimate republic.  A cabal of public and private organizations perpetrated open election fraud in a number of key states.  The fact that a number of red states allowed this to happen proves to me that we live in a banana republic.

A banana republic is a country run by a dictatorship of either a single strongman or an oligarchic clique that carries on the pretense of things like elections but controls the outcome of these elections in an openly farcical manner.  I think that about covers our case.  Think of the spectacle of the Philadelphia vote counting operation sending the poll watchers home, covering the windows with card board and then bringing in truck loads of phony ballots to be counted behind locked doors.  Even a moron would know what was going on but we are supposed to shrug our shoulders and pretend we didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

So, tomorrow Virginia will vote for governor.  The latest polls say the republican is ahead by between two and eight percentage points.  That would lead you to believe that he probably will win.  But based on what we’ve seen I wouldn’t be surprised at all if after some number of days after election day the Democrat candidate will emerge victorious by some ridiculously small number of votes.  The fact that it will take a week or so to engineer this result shouldn’t disturb us or lead us to believe that fraud has been practiced.  No, far from it.  It’s just the new normal.

And if by some miracle, the republican wins we know that this is a temporary setback.  After all Dementia Joe’s minions are hard at work transporting hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to red states all over the United States.  Whatever deficit in the voting rolls might exist today will be made up for with “new Americans.”

So right now, for me, all politics is local.  Because that is the only politics that isn’t rigged.  Maybe some effort will be made to clean up the fraud.  It’s possible.  Places like Arizona, Wisconsin and Georgia are trying to figure out how to clean up this mess.  But right now, there is no guarantee that they’ll be able to accomplish what they need to.  What would be a good sign is if we get beyond the current audit stage and get to the point where individuals are indicted for voter fraud and convicted.  That would make it less likely that things like what happened in Pennsylvania and Georgia would continue.  But until then I have to assume that for anything beyond my town’s boundaries, I’m just watching a charade that keeps us in the same club as Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and Kim Jong-un’s North Korea.  Good luck Virginia.  You’ll need it.

This Can’t Be a Good Sign For Dementia Joe

More Democrats would rather replace Joe Biden as the 2024 candidate than keep him.

“The NPR-PBS NewsHour-Marist poll found 44 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents believe that a new nominee will give them their best shot at victory in the next presidential election, while 36 percent want the party to stick with Biden. Another 20 percent aren’t sure.”

Even such losers as Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford and George Bush Sr. were never so unpopular that their own party wanted to get rid of them in their first year in office.  This is indeed a great accomplishment.  And it’s not even a year yet.  By next year they’ll probably be willing to swap out Joe for Sponge Bob Square Pants.  It would seem like a trade up to me.

Praying Mantises, Children’s Books and Pa – Part 6 – Extra Innings

Last night I read that this week we’re expecting a hard frost.  Well, it’s November after all and nothing unusual about that.  I mentioned to Camera Girl that I saw a dragonfly circling the yard the other day and now it’ll be the end of his time with the frost.

This morning Camera Girl was getting ready to go out on an errand and she said she’d stop at the top of the driveway and put a letter in the mailbox.  I said I need some air.  Give it to me.  As I was walking back toward the house she is walking toward me instead of driving out in her car and yelling something excitedly.  She is an enthusiastic woman.  What she was saying was that she saw a praying mantis sitting on top of a gallon water jug that I had left on the porch.  She asked me to catch it and save it indoors.

And sure enough, there it was.  I scooped it up and put it in a convenient cage (the former home of one of my grandsons’ hermit crabs).

And the new plan is to see how long he can live in an indoor environment.  I’ll try to offer him raw hamburger but if that fails we’ll get some crickets at the pet store.  Well, Princess Sack of Potatoes will get a chance to study a praying mantis more closely than I thought.

The Z-Man Catalogs the Groups That Make Up the Right

In his post today the Z-Man breaks down the “tribes” that make up the Right Wing by what they espouse.

  1. Gentry Conservatives
  2. Normies or Civic Nationalists
  3. Disgruntled Right
  4. Religious/Traditionalists
  5. Revanchist Right
  6. Dissident Right

These various groups are defined by the Z-Man based on the perspective they bring to the question of what should be done about our current mess.  His take on this is that the dissidents are the only ones that have a point of view that allows them to escape from the trap that he defines as liberal democracy.

I think it’s a good article to read to see which group you think you belong to.  And to see how or if you disagree with the Z-Man’s take.  As always he brings up good points.  But is his the only point of view that can beat the Left?

30OCT2021 – OCF Update

Today I spent a good chunk of the day on fiction writing.  And it was very productive and I think successful.  But the trade off is no time for web site work.  I’m going to have to get much more efficient at splitting my time between the two tasks.  Tonight I am employed watching the 1922 and 1979 versions of Nosferatu.  The original is a silent film that is without a doubt a puzzling experience for the modern audience.  The film quality is terrible, the special effects are non-existent and the acting is highly stylized if I want to put it politely.  The 1979 version is titled Nosferatu the Vampyre and was directed by Werner Herzog.  I just started it but it looks like it could be okay.  I hope to have the review out tonight.

When Does the Break Occur?

When I was just a young kid, I started reading science fiction.  And why not?  Science fiction was all about rocket ships and there were real rocket ships going into real space right before my eyes.  And one of my favorite authors was Robert Heinlein.  He wrote all about the early days of man’s conquest of the universe.  And he built his own fictional universe with a “Future History” timeline that talked about how all this progress would effect mankind.  And one of the things he “predicted” was “The Crazy Years.”  These were tucked into the 1960’s and would involve the breakdown of social mores and widespread confusion and anti-social trends.  Reading it makes it sound very much like what the actual sixties were like.  And the prediction was that this breakdown of societal stability would lead to wars and revolution and dictatorships to address the lack of order.  By the 1980’s I was feeling bad for old Pops Heinlein when we didn’t fall into chaos.  After all Ronald Reagan had reestablished order on the shining city on a hill.

Well, time has shown me that I was too impatient.  I didn’t wait long enough for the end of the Crazy Years.  And who better to officiate at the climax of the Crazy Years than a dementia patient?  Good Old Joe Biden.  Joe has taken it upon himself to finish off the American republic for good and all.  He’s not working around the edges like his boy Obama.  No, he’s got his knife right at the throat and is just waiting to have Congress put the bowl out to catch the blood so they can pass it over to their vampires to gorge on.

But the Future History timeline also showed that eventually the Crazy Years would be ended by serious men.  They would organize and topple the insane governments that allowed their people to be victimized by the insane and the lawless.  Usually in Heinlein’s stories they would be military or former military men.  Only after order was restored would civilian government be restored.  But even then, things wouldn’t go back to the way they had been.  A lesson had been learned.

So, I have two questions.

  • How long, if ever, will it take for men to emerge who will say this has gone far enough and we’re going to fix this?
  • Will any changes be put in place to prevent the madness from coming back?

I’ve been trying to answer these hypothetical questions.  Probably it’s just a fantasy with little or no science to it.  But it makes me feel better to think I’m at least looking ahead.  If I was going to guess I’d say that it will happen in some area of the country where the proportion of normal people is still fairly high.  And how it will happen is that some city in this healthy area will start causing serious damage to the people in the suburbs and rural areas.  After that, the state government will try to address this situation and the federal government will try to prevent them.  And that’s where the flashpoint will occur.  If the state gets Washington to back down that will set the pattern for greater and greater state autonomy and less and less power by Washington.  And once the other Red States see this, they will follow suit.  That will be the tipping point to changing what is happening across the country.  New laws will be made to address the underlying causes of the instability and lawlessness and at some point, the Red States and the Blue States will have to recognize and formalize the changes to the way they interact.

But if the federal government crushes the state’s attempt to end urban lawlessness, then it will take a much longer time for vigilantes to start self-policing their local areas.  It will be a grassroots movement and it will be fought by the FBI investigating disappearances of known felons who went too far out of their home turf and just vanished.

Now, how long will it take to reach these places?  For something to be done by the states, that could happen tomorrow.  Let’s say anytime in the next few years.  For grassroots vigilantism to become a widespread phenomenon, I guess it depends on how violent the attacks become.  But I’d say it might take five or ten years for people to get desperate enough to stake their lives on it.  These are just guesses.

As for my second question, what changes will be put in place in a new national government.  I would say that the biggest changes would be mandatory gun ownership, codified right to state secession from the Union and permanent migrant control policies.  If I were to add anything to these three things, I’d add outlaw affirmative action and female suffrage and restore an all-normal male armed forces and finally start taxing companies based on what percentage of their workforce is in the United States.

So, the bad news is, unless some governor successfully backs the federal government down on the lawlessness they’ve unleashed, it could take a decade for a grassroots vigilantism movement to mature into something powerful enough to take hold and move us toward the restoration of order.

So, there’s my crack at being a right-wing Nostradamus.  In most of Heinlein’s books revolts went along with a lot of bloody battles.  And there was no guarantee that outside forces wouldn’t lob in some nukes to make it interesting.  But I gave you my best shot.  What’s your thoughts?

Tucker Carlson Showing Real Guts

Tucker Carlson is doing an expose on the January 6th protest/setup and he is getting enormous pushback from everyone on the Left from the ADL to Liz Cheney to every crazed lunatic on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News itself.

I have to admire his courage and coincidentally I’m shocked that Fox News is allowing him to do it.  And to dust off an old chestnut, “If you’re taking flak you’re probably over the target.”  Kudos to TC for speaking truth to power.  I’m sure Google, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter will ban the video and any clips from it from their platforms.

But Fox News is a pretty big megaphone.  If he has anything new that will give it wide coverage.  And even if we’ve heard it before lots of normies haven’t seen it all laid out together.

I’m looking forward to watching it.  Carlson has been hammering Biden pretty hard lately and it’s gratifying to see.  Tipping points are really hard to identify.  Let’s just call this another nail in the coffin.

Atlanta Discovers That Police Prevent Crime

I find this one hilarious.  The two major Democrat candidates for Atlanta mayor are outbidding each for how many more police they will hire.  One says 250 the other triples that.  By gum, they’ll fix this whole Mad Max, Road Warrior thing by putting an ad in the paper for more cops.

I just love it.  They charge cops with murder if they defend themselves against armed thugs and then they expect to get actual police deterrence.  These guys will do the same thing the old guys are doing.  Lean on the side of their squad cars and play games on their phones.  I hope to watch on cable news as the gangs burn the CNN headquarters just for laughs and the police stand aside and let nature take its course.

The only thing that will bring the cities back is hiring a mayor, city council, district attorney and police chief who codify the right of police officers to use deadly force when it’s necessary.  Until then the gangs will burn, loot and murder to their hearts’ content.

When all the Fortune 500 flee the cities and the city coffers are empty these cities will be Detroit.  Maybe new cities will be built in the Red States with walls and gates and there won’t be any space for the gangsters.  Can’t think of another way to deal with a lawless country.

28OCT2021 – OCF Update

Finally up to snuff.  So I’ve been catching up on my chores.  Fixing a fence, stowing some gardening equipment, some prep for some larger tasks.  But ti’s good to be back in the land of the living.  As I was walking by a hill I could hear one lonely cricket still chirping slow and low.  I couldn’t help saying to him, “Hang in there brother.”

I look around today at the headlines; economy tanking, inflation running amok, Biden sucks; same old, same old.

But on the home front lots of good stuff going on.  Halloween will be a real thing this year.  They’ve taken the plastic wrap off the kids and they can go out and beg for grubby candy.  We’ve got a grandson’s birthday coming up here and we’ve also wrangled the rights to hosting Thanksgiving for all the grandkids this year.  So whatever else Dementia Joe destroys he may be too late to destroy Thanksgiving.  And I say that knowing that there may be no turkeys or pumpkin pie because of “supply chain” foul ups.  But for whatever reason hope is in the air.

I looked at TCM’s line-up of horror movies for Halloween and they really are pathetic.  They’ve ignored almost all the Universal Classic Monster movies and they’ve back-filled with a lot of shlocky 1950’s and 1960’s Vincent Price junk.  I could understand if they had decided to go for more modern fare but then they could have had Psycho, Silence of the Lambs, maybe some of the really gruesome stuff from the 1990’s.  But apparently they’ve lost interest.  I’m looking around to review at least one good horror movie for Halloween.  If anyone has a suggestion that I haven’t already reviewed feel free to leave it in the comments.

I noticed that the poll takers, Reuters and Harris and the rest haven’t tried too hard to boost Biden’s poll numbers over the last couple of weeks.  Or if they have it hasn’t helped.  He’s been at approximately -10 (40 up, 50 down) for a while.  I’m curious to see if it can go much below that.  If it got to -20 (30/60) I bet even Dementia Joe’s puppet master will consider trying to repair some of the damage done to the economy by shutting off the petroleum supplies.  But then again they are true believers.  Maybe nothing will stop them from trying to destroy the US economy and us.

I’m going back into some older pictures for my Photo of the Day.  It’s stuff I took with my Sony A-850 DSLR.  Some of it is more than ten years ago.  I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the great quality of a lot of the files.  And it’s been a nostalgic experience seeing some of the people and places that were around back then.

Well, that’s enough rambling for now.  More organized posting to follow.

2021 Election Stuff

I’ve been recovering the last few days from a bug.  It had some of the symptoms of a flu like muscle aches and headache but no fever.  Very strange.  But sitting in the center of the witches’ brew of manufactured viruses and untested vaccines I wouldn’t be surprised if tomorrow I woke up and had blue stripes running around my face.

We live in interesting times.  The Nov 2nd election day is pretty small stuff but the gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey will be very early tests of just how unpopular the Democrats have made themselves.  New Jersey is a very blue state but they alternate between Democrat and Republican governors.  The Republicans are brought in every eight years to undo some of the damage done by the previous Democrat regime.  But this is just the end of the Democrat’s first term so a loss would be unusual. Massachusetts does a similar thing.  All federal positions are a Democrat lock but they bring in a Republican governor whenever the taxes, graft and dysfunction become too painful.

Virginia recently slipped from a purple state to a blue one.  It’s assumed the Democrats will hold the governor’s mansion.  But the Loudon County public schools CRT flap and the recent rapes by a “transgender” student have rattled a lot of suburban moms and there is a thought that this might tip the election to the Republican.

With respect to New Jersey, I think it’s highly unlikely that they will replace their current Democrat governor.  He’s only served one four-year term and although he has killed a goodly number of nursing home residents during the COVID debacle he probably hasn’t completely drained the state treasury yet.  So, I say he’ll be reelected.

In Virginia I think this election will be a test case for how thorough the state’s fraudulent election process is.  If they’ve locked it down so that no matter how many votes the Republicans get the Democrats will still win by the requisite two percent then this will be a bellwether for the rest of the country.  And it will throw the gauntlet down for any states like Georgia that have enacted legislation to prevent fraud.  With the whole country watching if Virginia is able to thumb their noses at election fraud scrutiny and bring home the bacon for the Democrats then Atlanta is going to have to suck it up and repeat the bang up job they did in 2020.

But if by some miracle, both governors’ races go to the Republicans it will be a flashing red light that 2022 will be a massacre for the Democrats.  And it might mean even Democrats don’t like what’s happening in their country and want to turn things around.  But we’re talking major miracles here so I don’t think so.

As far as the country at large it has been heartening to see the rise of the “Let’s Go Brandon” meme and also the Jet Pack Joe thing too.  Seeing Dementia Joe denigrated and mocked is a great thing indeed.  What I’d love to see is a little chant going on in the White House press briefing.  How would Psaki react to that?

Some people probably don’t think that open mockery of the president is that big a deal.  But they’re wrong.  Having this ricochet around the news cycle is exactly the kind of thing that demoralizes the people in the administration who are the true believers and think they’ve got the youth demographic on their side.  To hear stadiums of young people shouting the Joe Biden f-bomb chant puts the lie to that.  But like any meme they get stale quickly so something new is needed every month or so.  Hopefully some new angle on the mockery will surface soon.  And it will.  Looking at Biden performing at that town hall it’s pretty apparent that he is not a well man.  And that’s even taking his age into account.  With the economy in a stagflation death spiral it won’t be long before Joe will be forced to give the Carter Malaise Speech which should be the last nail in the coffin.  I wonder how Kamala will like being president in 2022 when the Congress flips against her?  Hopefully she’s practicing that creepy cackle that she stole from Hillary for the questions she’ll get that election day.

Boy, I sound much too cheerful.  I guess I haven’t bought gasoline recently.  When I do that should sober me up.  Now that I’m mostly recovered, I hope to get back to my usual schedule.  Halloween is Sunday and I’ve been trying to come up with something appropriate but nothing has presented itself so far.  But I’ll do my best to honor the holiday.  Tradition is important.

Well, that enough for now.  Stay tuned for bigger and better things.

Update: Interestingly, Fox News has come out with a poll showing the Republican candidate in the Virginia  governor’s race  (Youngkin) is ahead 53% to 45%.  Well shut my mouth and stuff it up with corn pone!  The South is rising again!
